Right but say on a M3P, flooring it to come out of it is some serious acceleration. That could be dangerous if you didn’t want full throttle but just to get a smaller burst of speed. The cars you mention are much slower.

I agree and have said this exact same thing before also.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I do feel it’s a shame you cannot swipe up on the music card anymore to see the next tracks, etc. I liked that. Generally I think this is a nice update with a lot of good stuff, just a shame when you step backwards also in a few places.

When Driving Assistance Systems go wrong

Yeah this isn't phantom braking while on autopilot, not at all. This is at any time, you don't need any active cruise type system enabled. It's also far stronger braking as it's full on emergency braking, same as if you floored the brake pedal fully.

When Driving Assistance Systems go wrong

Interesting article in Autocar on this with an EV9 where it emergency braked out of the blue. This mirrors my experience on a Lotus Eletre and is a common known fault with their software also, not sure they've fixed this yet. Basically in that car had it a couple of times but say you are...

Is there any difference between Pilot Sport 4 and Pilot Sport 4 acoustic tyres?

Not sure it was even a cost cutting measure but more to make a tyre suitable for higher speeds means changes that increase rolling resistance. So by lowering the top speed, they could also put on tyres that reduce the rolling resistance. It’s all about efficiency I think but if it saves them...

Tesla has a ton of safety features and most of what the law is telling them must be standard, they’ve already had standard for a long time. They don’t talk about it as much but it’s there. Also the games are important, not for people like me and you but for families with younger kids. It helps...

It’s not about what Tesla can or cannot do, it’s about the law. And yes I’ve had cars with a speed limit chime going back earlier, the difference is it will turn on automatically on each drive. If you don’t like it, you have to turn it off each time. It’s not allowed to remember you don’t want...

I don’t know what they will do of course but I can imagine it annoying people to get some of this retroactively added to their old cars. I think all of the safety aspects, Tesla’s have already had. It’s just the parts that annoy you and everyone turns off straight away you don’t yet have. It’s...

They already do as Highlands have a slightly different interface than pre-highland. Don't know if they are doing this on Model Y also but this covers the ability to quickly turn on and off speed warning chimes.

Yeah but you’ve already brought your car, Tesla doesn’t have to retro fit so to speak this functionality to your car. I mean they can as we know and you’ll get the safety improvements but I suspect any enforced automatic bongs and chimes they won’t push to old cars.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

It is annoying when UK phone networks drop calls just before our wives are about to say “Ah thanks for filling me in on all of that. You’re the best hubbie ever, love you so much.” Always seem to get cut off before that bit comes 😂

Requirement for new cars, not old cars is it not? This is part why Highland cars have or had a speed chime that automatically turns on every time you start the car. Though in the UK they aren’t doing this as I think legally it’s not required here since we left the EU in the same way. My Lotus...
