Icon10 Scobleizer: (Valley Wag): Elon's P1 vs Corvette!!!

Videos posted recently on Valley Wag of Elon's P1 vs a Corvette (base model not Z06):
Valley Wag has the videos embedded on the same page:
Clips: Elon Musk's Tesla caught on video smoking Scoble and Calacanis

Hanging out with a fast company (emphasis on fast) « Scobleizer — Tech geek blogger

Hope it's not a repost! Apparently it was Scoble who posted the photos of the VIN for the P1 that TEG posted.

2 Half Hour videos, so pretty long. One from the roadster's view and one from the Corvette's. Couldn't find a way to embed it with vbulletin so just click the link. Funny how Elon had to avoid the question about the torque. 211 lb-ft wouldn't have sounded very impressive so he went with the Newton-meters. He should have just say 100% @ 0 rpm and that's all that matters. Against a 400hp, 3200lb machine it fared well I would say for being locked into 2nd gear (in the video he says it was a 2 speed, but wasn't it locked into 2nd?).

Apparently Elon used to own a McLaren F1 too.

Jason Calacanis, founder/CEO of Mahalo, was in the Corvette with Rocky. Calacanis apparent already has a Roadster on order. (Direct link to video in Corvette below)

Robert Scoble was in the Tesla with Elon:

Baby, you can crash my car

Apparently it was a great investment for him. He said something like "bought it for $1million, sold it for $1.5million".
How would you like to get paid $500K to drive that car for 7 years!

Interesting snippet that they are tweaking the 30-70mph acceleration to make it even quicker in this range.
