Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Tesla pedestals are wired and closed up this morning. Workers are on top thoughtfully considering working on the chargers :)

More trenching too! Looks to be for electrical from the transformer.

This new trenching has me confused. There is no way that it connects (directly) to the group of conduit seen poking up where the slab is going to be poured. But it is obviously connected to the underground vault. Maybe some above ground equipment that just connects to the underground vault that then feeds back to the conduit run in place? There are those two large cabinets still sitting on the North end of the property. Perhaps those will get dropped onto another above ground pad. This is close to the "City's designated area" on the plan a couple pages back.

They got the shovels out for some good old hand digging

LOL, when I was last there, they had the hand operated compactor out for hours jamming that soil down in place. Doesn't make much sense to do that then dig it right up.

Measure twice, compact once! ;)

Think it through guys!

Haha it makes me wonder if they are reading this thread, and thinking of new ways to drive us crazy. “Let’s bury some conduit then dig it up and move it 3 feet then bury it again. That will really blow their mind”

The lifelong curse of being a software engineer: Seeing everything that is not done in the most efficient way possible.

So the recent work was for ventilation for the underground vault. Two shafts in place, ready to pour concrete along with the large equipment pad. More wiring up of the Tesla chargers, but no more progress on the 9 City DCFCs that have been in place since the weekend.

The concrete was poured yesterday, and cables are now in place from the vault to the large platform. There is no wiring in place yet from the platform to the garage roof, but the cable spools are sitting in the garage waiting to be pulled. The Tesla chargers look to be connected to the large cabinet where the power will be coming in. Still only 9 City DCFCs in the process of being installed.

Major progress: Signs now up for "Tesla vehicle charging". Would have thought a better placement would have been behind the ground level conduit runs, but I'm assuming a rubber parking stop will be in place to prevent backing into the sign. Power feed into the roof distribution boxes in now in place, as are the feeds to the individual chargers. The two large cabinets were just dropped into place on the ground level pad that was poured, and it looks like there will be an access sidewalk poured to connect to Marengo St. MaxGen techs were working on the 9 city DCFCs. The metal power conduit is not entirely finished for the city's feeds (not pictured).

@RubberToe you should apply to be a part of the Tesla team. Thank you for all of your play-by-play reports on this site!

I get to drive Elon's "gift to the future", the Model 3. No further compensation or accolades are required. :D

On second thought, perhaps I will allow someone to buy me a beer when we celebrate the Grand Opening of the largest DCFC station West of the Mississippi.

Yes it’s about time to plan the opening party. Quick supercharge then a drink at BJ’s or the wine bar?

And wonderful job on those dual CCS/CHAdeMO units and old legacy 50kw units. That should be great for people wanting to come in with any newer EV needing a quick fillup and being stuck at 110 to 115 amps probably.. not to mention those units are junk and love to overheat just after 1 session.

Have no clue why they wouldn't go with a next gen CCS/CHAdeMO unit.
