Hello,
I have the same issue with my tpms, the gen1 version. I would like to wait for my next tires to change the sensors. I try to find informations but it is not clear at all when it comes to compatibility. What is the requirement for the replacement of the gen1 sensor?
Thank you in advance for any information
GEN 1 have to be programmed by tesla
I just stopped by DT to see if they had gen 2 in stock, they didn't....he suggested I get them myself if I could, so I did...
This is what I am getting from amazon... View attachment 366495
been over 10k miles, no problems w the sensors...I didn't see a post on how they work, do they? TIA
FWIW, link to the "set of 4 tpms 433mhz tire pressure sensors 1/2014-2018 tesla" described above:

This page says they are for Model 3, a set of 4 for $98. When I searched on Model X TPMS Amazon shows me a different page, for $113. Is there really a difference?

Im running into the similar problems now. I have a 2016 S and have Turbine wheels from a 2014 S (prob with the old sensors). Tire pressure light is on. The reset button is gone now. Tesla gave me two options to replace the sensors - old baolong sensors and the retrofit. Since my car already has newer receivers, it sounds like from these posts that I can get gen 2 sensors and they will automatically read.
Does this sound right?
