Gen2 UMC plus tail is NOT a road trip plan A

The Gen2 UMC with the additional 3 phase tail is handy for home charging but has potential downfalls on road trips away from DC charging infrastructure-
That article is not well written and I would ignore it.

Using a single phase charger is fine. The maximum charge speed would be ~7.7 kW or less depending on the supply current.
I don't know what the author is going on about in regards to generation capacity.

I disagree, the author has probably travelled more distance in a Tesla than most people on this forum, he knows what he's talking about

The capacity of the generators at remote roadhouses, such as at the example given (Border Village on the edge of the Nullarbor Plain)

Charging on single phase is fine when you're on the main grid, but when you're relying on a generator you should do the right thing and try to keep the phases balanced where possible.
