Diminished Value Model 3 2023 Standard

My car was hit on Thanksgiving morning parked in front of my home. At fault carrier is Allstate & live in Portland, Oregon.

Any idea how much I should be paid for diminished value? Repairs totaled to $24000. Major damage to front driver side with panels shifted across the whole car.

Should I hire an appraiser or has anyone had success requesting DV without?

At $24,000 estimate they should probably total it. Have they started work on it yet? They will almost certainly find more "hidden damage". Mine went from an initial estimate of $6,500 to $13,000 once they got into it. I got $5,000 in diminished value.

It was quoted at $18000, but they’ve finished the repairs and it came out to $24000. I thought they would total it as well… but they went through with it.

There was no structural damage, but there was some damage to the suspension and had to have parts replaced.

Holy *sugar*. They really should have totaled that vehicle. I was getting offered $24k for my 2023 SR by KBB, and that was a couple months ago.

I was surprised they didn’t total it! I’m guessing they weren’t expecting that much hidden damage…
