I've already done the dirty work of splicing the cable to work with the Model S 12v plug under the front grill in the headliner. NOTE: This means the included 12v cigarette lighter power adapter has been cut, but it's not needed for Model S owners anyway.
I followed the instructions in this video (by DÆrik) when splicing the 12v adapter, except I used heat shrink wrap instead of a butt splice: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWnIrvuO5_M
This unit is otherwise basically new in box because I never actually got around to installing it (oops), and I am a week out from my Model 3 Performance delivery date. However, I've tested everything and it works perfectly.
