I bought an Insta360 X3 camera for this purpose. It can do a lot of neat tricks, so I'll be keeping it around. When viewing the video, you should be able to pan around and look in any direction.
The location is on top of the Hoover Knobs near Pottsville Texas. It's the highest point in Hamilton County, and (as you can see) the view is fantastic in every direction.
We had a lot of weather drama leading up to the eclipse, as they all forecast clouds, clouds, clouds. On the day, about 8AM a dark blanket of clouds pulled over the sky, and it started misting. Things looked dire, but as we say in Texas: "If you don't like the weather, just wait fifteen minutes." By the time the eclipse began, the clouds had broken up, and conditions were just about perfect. There were just a few clouds around the horizon to enhance the 360-degree sunset effect.
