Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

The new update reinforces my long held theory that Tesla’s UI designers are graphically talented non Tesla owners, likely too young to have a driver’s license. How else do you explain the improvements in graphics, fonts, video games and gimmicks while (with a few exceptions) greatly...

    Progressive insurance Model Y

Bait and Switch, pure and simple. Progressive did not make a "mistake", they just suckered many people like me to switch to them then more than doubled the rate at the first renewal. No explanation, no apology. My Y was increased by $757!! for 6 mo. My advice to all is to stay away from...

New Model Y Very satisfying but NO HOMELINK

Yes, the solution is simply to use the controller that you generally attach to the visor but attach it with velcro the back side of the display at the lower left hand corner. It is completely invisible and much more convenient than paying $300 to hunt for a button on the screen! People are...

    Screen Changes with New Update

As someone who has been driving nothing but Teslas since early 2013 I want to say that this unfortunate GUI “update” is the first update that I regret receiving. The big, beautiful maps, already diminished in size from the S now are needlessly tiny while valuable real estate is given over to...

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

As someone who has been driving nothing but Teslas since early 2012 I want to say that this unfortunate GUI “update” is the first update that I regret receiving. The big, beautiful maps, already diminished in size from the S now are needlessly tiny while valuable real estate is given over to...

    How’s the Y

Couldn't be happier. Flawless delivery last week (July 11 build date). Not a sports sedan like the M3 but drives like no other SUV.

    Surf Report

Let’s consider the important questions in life. Will your longboard fit inside the Y? We have the rack on the 3 and it is beautiful but I hate the lower driving speeds, loading hassle, vulnerability and melted wax. Here is some data that may help. Don’t know why it is missing from the Tesla...

    Picked Up My Red MY

For the record, I picked up a red Y on the 16th (build date July 11th) and it was near flawless. Only thing I can find is that the rear view mirror is not locked down right. Doesn't rattle when driving but will is not as secure as intended. Rear seats, paint, taillights, headliner etc.etrc...

    'Chrome delete' standard

To me it's color dependent. Black looks much better with red or white paint in my opinion. Especially with the black wheel covers. . Also the black trim just looks more appropriate with the higher, more boxy vehicle. Sure hope they keep the delete since I ordered red paint.

Whats the most miles anyone has driven without having to take it in for service?

6,495 miles since January delivery and a total of 45min. at service center to replace rearview mirror that only deployed 85% of the time. I know that Tesla has produced some lemons but I have only driven Teslas (two S and one 3) over the last 6 years and they have been the most maintenance free...

    Bug with favourites and TuneIn

Our favorites interface is buggy also.

    Temperature control

After 6 years of interface improvements the real estate is still formatted to a stationary car instead of one that is moving and bouncing. I can't understand why something so simple and easy has not been addressed.

Add to the minimalist look by allowing for a mostly blank screen option

Great idea. Would also like a large (as in LARGE) button for turning AC on and off while driving at 70mph without going into tiny menu.

Tall People Only: Model 3 Review

It has been said that tall people have to shop for cars like other people shop for suits. It is not easy to find the fit and an inch can make a big difference. Below is the information and dimensions that all of the car reviewers have so far withheld: It is all good news! The three is...

    Model 3's Ride Quality

I found my late January M3 to have a harder ride than I liked. Lowered the air pressure from 49 lbs as delivered to the 45 lbs on the door label and am now happy. Not as silky and creamy as the S with air suspension but a little stiffer suspension seems appropriate for this car. Tire noise...

    Phone as Key Issues

One of the problems with most fobs is that you can't take them when swimming or surfing. Is the key card waterproof?

Tesla interior design has nowhere to go but down. Get this version while you can.

I agree with the original post. The original interior was a striking, harmonious and bold repudiation of the over designed bling found in other luxury cars, even Audis. The interior actually dealt with space, not just decoration. And it’s not just the seats that have been visually downgraded...

    Software 8.0 Likes/Dislikes for Pre-Autopilot Model S

Can one of you UI designers explain to me why Tesla talks continually about their focus on safety and then insists on buttons the size of a dime for frequently used functions. I hate AC for instance but often have to use it because I live in a warm climate. So I need to toggle both the fan...

Difference between Multi-Pattern & Next Generation Seats?

Next Gen seats suck unless you are fairly small. Main reason I haven't upgraded from 2013 is I want leather but am uncomfortable in the "upgraded" seats. X seats aren't bad except that the headrest raise only with seat travel. Not a good idea.

Will the Model 3 be better built for taller people?

I find that the most important thing for tall comfort is the steering wheel reach (which has no impact on aero dynamics!) If the reach is generous, like it is in the Tesla, Volvo and some Mercedes, I can tilt the seat back to compensate for low headroom and still reach the steering wheel. I'm...

Where do you put a 9'6" longboard (SURFBOARD) on a Tesla Model S?

I have been carrying my 10'-2" longboard inside weekly for 3 years now. It works great as long as you are alone, and I sometimes carry the board all day long with me while running errands. It only fits one way though. The passenger seat must be all the way back raised up with the seat back...

Tesla Trade in to Carmax Quotes

Carmax is a ripoff. Over the years I have taken two ICE cars and a Leaf in. Every time they lowballed it by thousands of dollars. In the case of the Leaf, I took it up the street on the same day to the dealer after wasting my time at Carmax and they paid over $2000 more. The dealer!

Opportunity Console - New Photos, Poll

I whole heartedly agree with the input here. The cup holders are poorly positioned and too shallow to be of any use. I do like the idea of a double metal ring that plugs in to the face of the existing console and floats above the open space. This could be removable and allow non-cup holder...

Opportunity Console - New Photos, Poll

Opps, looks like here is the right place to post this for GeorgeB: Here is a concept sketch developing the shelf vertically so it is more useful without giving up the floor storage for purses, pack packs, shoes, briefcases and take out bags. Significantly, this also would help address the...

Should the under-display shelf have a door?

Here is a concept sketch developing the shelf vertically so it is more useful without giving up the floor storage for purses, pack packs, shoes, briefcases and take out bags. Significantly, this also would help solve the dangerous condition created with the current open shelf configuration...
