    202X Roadster Delay Legal Action?

Hi. I'm Bob. And I'm an idiot. 😁

I never buy on margin. But today, I bought on margin.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Hmmm. This whole weekend's discussion about Elon twitter-crashing the stock, and all the dangers of using margin, made me log in and see how much margin I have available at the moment. Turns out to be quite a lot. I don't normally use margin, last time I did it was during May/June 2020 during...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Okay, so this morning I bought a car for a friend who is down on her luck and whose vehicle was slowly dying and bleeding her dry. Also increased my monthly donation to my favorite charity by by 60%. Then TSLA! Ain't karma a wonderful thing. You're all welcome. And did we ever decide if...

Who needs a roadster when you have model s plaid?

Bob does. I've said that in my mind every time this thread had activity for the past 4+ months, but kept it to myself. But couldn't restrain myself any longer. So now that the question has been 100% thoroughly completely answered, can we make it stop popping up? :p

I had a $680 limit order that executed at $695, but had another $690 order that didn't execute. It was definitely a strange day.

I feel your pain. I bought a Cybertruck and a Roadster and yet to receive mine either.

I used to dream about making a million dollars from TSLA. Then I dreamed about making a million dollars in a single day. I never in my wildest dreams contemplated making a million dollars in a half hour. TSLA life is good! Congrats to everyone who has hung on to make it to tonight!

Current best guesses on delivery time, please.

Sadly, I also lean towards 2022.
  11. bobinfla

To deposit or not deposit, that is the question.

Nope. Not even for the $250k Founder's deposit.
  12. bobinfla

    Processing time for wire deposit?

    Oh man, yes I do!
  13. bobinfla

I wonder how many people have cancel their reservation at this point?

I'm surprised by all the upset about "delays." Anyone who is a big Tesla fan and follower, and I assume that anyone willing to drop $200k for the Roadster would fall in that category, either didn't expect to see their car until 2022, or they haven't been paying attention for the last 12 years...

Already have my order in! :) Had to drive 5 hours to get to see one in person, now I have to wait about a year for them to build it. This is amazingly similar to buying my first Model S.

Beats the hell out of my superpower. Right after I sell some shares the stock takes off like a rocket. You're all very welcome for my June 23rd $1006, June 30th $1015, and July 6th $1325.
  19. bobinfla

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just a little higher. At $1666.67, people with 6000 shares will need to make the column in excel wider. I think that qualifies as a full day's work.

Yeah, can't wait until Monday, when I'll be sitting around doing nothing with my feet up but maybe becoming richer by 6 or 7 digits.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The joy in making lots of money comes from what you can do with it, not just staring at an awesome number on a spreadsheet. The best things I could have done to make the number on my spreadsheet more impressive would have been to never sell a share, not bought a Model S, not bought a Roadster...

I'm a buy and HODL investor, but I wanted to congratulate all you option players who knew and posted back on Monday morning that we'd close out the week at $1000 +/- $1. Hopefully that means you made some good money on it, some day I'll need to figure out how to take advantage of that.

Very misleading to make it sound like people support extending the lockdown now. Your post really should have said that a poll from 2 weeks ago supported 2 more weeks of lockdown, which would be ending now. Who know what they think today.

Yeah, but remember Wednesday, that felt pretty good, huh? After serious thought, and plodding through the last 30 pages of posts that accumulated while I was gone for a couple hours, I have come to two important conclusions. Firstly, it was a really poor decision to declare general amnesty...

    Repainting a Roadster

Okay, I think I'm the contrary one here. I have Founder's #19 (second owner), and (to my wife's anguish) I have not worried about keeping it original or worried about devaluing it. Mine is not meant to be a collector's piece, it's my car to enjoy and have fun with for as long as I have it...

    Market politics

One time payment is $1200 per person, $2400 per couple plus $500 per child. So a family of four will see $3400. But not going to wealthier families. This is on top of expanded regular unemployment plus $600 extra for those who lose their jobs. This on top of small business loans that turn...

    Market politics

So what part of the bill are you referring to? Payments to those earning less than $99k? Money for medical community? Money for states? Money for small businesses as long as they keep their employees? Money for expanded unemployment for those who don't keep their jobs? Money for larger...

Hadn't bought any new shares in a year and a half and I've kicked myself for not loading up before the run to $9xx. So I just added another 1000 shares. Hopefully once the current crisis is over, we will head back to previous levels, so I can tell my wife what a genius move this was.

Not sure the recall should be claimed as the day before the cap raise. I received my recall email letter from Tesla back on Feb 6th, and although I like to think Tesla considers me really special, in reality that's probably not the case, so I assume that 15,000 other people got it at the same...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Okay, so I had to do it. Turns out my January 2013 Model S purchase cost me about $1.57M in what the stock would be worth today. There's a wake up call. Don't have the stomach to do the calculation for the Roadster, Model X, Replacement Model S, Power Walls, Model 3, 2020 Roadster or CyberTruck.

Really enjoyed the conversation I just had with my wife. "Remember the really stupid big purchase I made at $382 after the going private announcement? After staring at it in the red for 15 months, happy to report that we have now made over $30k on that trade" So glad when TSLA makes me look...

    Market politics

Given the polarity in our country at this time, and especially the polarity in our elected officials, I think there is about a 0% chance of fixing our election processes without it being just a partisan exercise to try to help their own party as opposed to trying to help the country. The...
