Agree... My 2 PWs discharge to 85% each night and charge back up to 100% in the morning. Usually it’s a 3.6 KwH discharge and a 4.6 KwH charge, so about 1 KwH loss per day.
The TiVo is the only device I have that re-boots on a power transfer. I may get a small UPS for it.
Good luck not paying the installers if you also have that issue.
The Gateway uses mechanical relays to switch between the various sources and loads, right?
Thanks very much for any information on the method, contact types, ratings, etc.
Many folks, including me, have had issues with CT (current transformer) placement. I would check them out first.
Wrong location, reversed, etc. Good luck.
I believe that the only connection that the Gateway has is the CT clamps on the AC from the roof. No configuration. It should not matter what inverters you have. I have old M215s and it works great.
First, check the current transformer clamps. Good luck!
Currently set to “self-powered’ with a 90% reserve to exercise the batteries a bit each day.
Should I just change it to 10% once a week? Is 10% low enough? Is exercising it daily a good idea?
Thanks a lot for advice/suggestions!
Peak output these days is about 6kW. Am I doing the math right?: 41 panels times 215 watts is 8.8k which seems right as a maximum. The system works great until I physically unhook the grid.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!
Thanks. The batteries were at 85%, set to self-powered. Solar shut-offs were only occasional, lower and very erratic output was constant. The compressor LRA is 112. Thanks again!
The solar setup is 6 years old using Enphase M215 micro-inverters with no issues. 2 Powerwalls were just installed in the garage 65 feet from main panel. Everything working ok so far.
Off-grid test:
After disconnecting the main panel from the grid, the solar power output became erratic...
Not quite what you are after but a Smappee works well for me in tracking my AC use and solar generation. Perhaps the CTs could monitor both inverter outputs. Good luck!
The main reason is that the panel is on my bedroom wall and I would like to be away from the PW2 electrical and acoustic noise. I don’t see how it complicates whole house backup. Also, they would look cool alongside the car.
Thanks folks.. I hope they don’t want much more to put them In the garage. It is already $$$, seems that they want to charge a lot so the tax credit is large. Everybody wins!??? State rebate is pretty big while current tier lasts so yay for that.
Would someone please point me towards info on getting homelink to work with an old Genie opener? The drive unit has two rotary switches and the remote has 3 buttons. Thanks!
For those that say there is no difference between 2018 and 2019, here is what I got from the Vegas delivery guy via email:
“I would have to reach out to your Owner advisor on that why you are assigned the demo/ Service car. And for your other question about 2018 and 2019 the only reason...
Hi folks, thanks for advice...
I am to pick up the car in 2 days. Only paid $2500 so far. I received the MVPA which describes the vehicle as "New - Previous service/demo vehicle" built in 2018, odometer 50. I thought I was buying a 2019 but am willing to be OK with it.
So, is there a...
