Seeking opinions and recommendations post-repair strangeness

Of course one of the first things that happens when I bring my car in for service is that they turn off Mobile access and also disconnect power to the dashcams. I put another call into Tesla and a helpful rep is pulling the car logs for me. He could already see in the last 10 days the mileage...

I’ll try to pursue this angle more. My initial calls into Tesla were not helpful.

Seeking opinions and recommendations post-repair strangeness

Yeah I am positive that the odometer was in the 33400 range when I dropped it off. I had been planning to rotate my tires at 35k. When I saw the odometer at 39900 this morning I was surprised and doubted my own recollection until I further checked my original insurance claim as well as the...

Seeking opinions and recommendations post-repair strangeness

My Tesla Model S was rear-ended back in Aug 2018. Since the car was still drivable, I waited almost a full-month before Brooks Motor Cars of Walnut Creek, CA was able to get all the parts in from Tesla. On Sept 18, 2018, I deposited my Model S to Brooks for repair. After 129 days and an...

    Tune in Premium

Yeah, I subscribe to Tunein Premium for the audiobooks....too bad it's not available on the car. So I'll just keep Bluetoothing it from my phone.

    Ventilated seats coming back?

I'm of the opinion that the Tesla incarnation of perforated/ventilated seats did not function significantly well...drawing air into the seats away from the passenger instead of more actively "blowing" air up through the seats to the passenger. Couple this with the many reports of the poor...

    Idle fees doesn't work.

Sounds very reasonable from your perspective. But if I also arrived at the same hotel at 11pm almost empty needing a charge...would I risk just going to sleep and then waking up at 4am to try to contact you to unplug your car so that I can then get out of bed and plug my car in? Starting to...

Model S - Deep Blue Metallic w/Stealth Wrap

I'm getting the deep blue metallic with ultra white interior. I'm not a big fan of the glossy blue, but the stealth blue looks awesome imho. I'm sticking with the 19" slipstreams, so I'm thinking dark gray powdercoat and Ferrari red calipers. Also tinting the windows to make the ultra white...

    Has anyone received a 100D?

Yes, yes, of course...$3k for the difference in battery capacity. What a deal! Lol.

Model S - Deep Blue Metallic w/Stealth Wrap

Thanks for posting your pics gallery! Beautiful! I just put a deposit down to do the same to mine! I'm considering getting the wheels powdercoated maybe gunmetal gray?

    Has anyone received a 100D?

I'm losing FUSC. But they definitely transferred my $2500 deposit over. The 90D is already gone from MyTesla page. And I already have the 100D with VIN in its place. Total due reflects $2500 already paid.

PSA: 25 100D's just hit inventory

Got one of them! Thanks! They said it's in LA, and delivery will be authorized on the 28th. Deep blue metallic with ultra white interior and all glass roof!

    Car Unable to Charge

I don't know. I never asked. I was sitting there Supercharging for the 3rd day in a row, waiting (bracing) for the service tech to give me the estimate for the charger repair. They had already sold me a new UMC cable the previous day, saying that the one I brought in was defective. But the...

    Has anyone received a 100D?

Been putting off delivery of the 90D that I ordered back in December. They said I didn't have to pick it up until March 31st to get FUSC, so I didn't. Of course, that didn't keep them from calling every week since beginning of Feb to try to schedule delivery. Looks like my waiting paid off...

    Car Unable to Charge

Very cool. My main charger just went caput, I think. Trying to get 1) a service appointment and 2) talk to someone about swapping my dual charger config to single. Tesla already sold me a new UMC cable yesterday, telling me that the one I brought in for inspection (because i couldn't charge...

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

I appreciate all the thoughtful replies to my message here in this thread, and I apologize to the OP for hijacking the thread. I'm the one who used the word "obsolete" to describe my as-of-yet undelivered/unproduced 90D. And if you look back at my message, you'll see that I made it clear that...

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

I would totally understand and it would be a heck of a lot easier to accept my inability to upgrade to the 100D without losing my deposit if I had already taken delivery of the 90D or was given a firm delivery date indicating active production of the car. But I've only been told all along for...

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

Well, that's what they told me yesterday...but then again last week when I asked about changing my order, I was told that my car was already in active production and would be finished "probably by the end of the week" (last week). So I don't know what the real answer is. I feel a bit like...

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

If I had ordered on 1/15, my 7-day cancellation period would have extended to 1/22. 100D was announced on 1/20, I believe. I would have been able to cancel the order without cost or at least with the $500 change fee.

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

Nope. That's not what Tesla is telling me. They told me that the only way I can "upgrade" to the 100D is to cancel my 90D order and forfeit the $2500 deposit, and then place a new order for the 100D. I am currently waiting for Tesla to contact me back regarding some inquiries that I have made...

Bought a 100D with ventilated seats! I DID IT! WOOO WOOOOOOOO!

Extending the deadline for FUSC to 1/15/17 wasn't exactly fair to those who ordered by the previous 12/31/16 deadline either.

    New from Tesla 100D (non-"P")

Really? I've been trying to do this with a 90D I ordered on 12/13. I have confirmed that the car will not go into active production until Monday, but the Tesla people I have talked to are refusing to let me upgrade without forfeiting the $2500 deposit and placing a new order.
  25. J

What happens to the $2500 deposit if I cancel an order?

As someone who ordered at the end of 2016 because of the allure of lifetime unlimited Supercharging, a lot has happened in the last month or so despite no one at Tesla being able to tell me where my car is in production. I first inquired about getting solid non-perforated seats with the PUP and...

What happens to the $2500 deposit if I cancel an order?

Does it matter if the car is in production yet or not? Can I wait until the car is ready to be delivered and then change my mind?

    Interior options change

What is weird is that I just configured a Model S, and selected the second Black/figured ash/Black option...but when I click on Next to save my design...the line item listing is showing black headliner, figured ash wood trim, and ultrawhite seats.

What happens to the $2500 deposit if I cancel an order?

I have a S90D on order, don't think it has entered production just yet. I ordered at the end of the year to get free supercharging. My ideal design would have been solid ultrawhite premium seats with the PUP, figured ash wood triim, etc...but at the time, it was impossible to get solid seats...

Switching from ventilated to solid seats

I guess that's a possibility, but all mention of ventilation or perforation has been removed from the features list under the Premium Upgrades Package. It's a good question though, because I see two issues...1) The ventilation feature a la Tesla is not that effective according to everything I...

Switching from ventilated to solid seats

I've had my 90D order in since 12/13. Was going to get black leather ventilated seats with the PUP. But now that ventilated seats have been removed as an option, I'm trying to change my design order to solid ultra white seats. My car hasn't entered into active production yet, so my delivery...

What's the latest on perforated ultra-white premium seats?

Yes, we need to know why the perforated seats were discontinued. I talked to a sales person at a local Tesla store, and she chalked it up to just changing suppliers

What's the latest on perforated ultra-white premium seats?

This is what I will try to do now!
  34. J

What's the latest on perforated ultra-white premium seats?

I'm tempted to make the change to the perforated ultra-white premium seats for my midnight silver Model S. I know that early on there was some concern about the durability of the perforated fabric and Elon Musk had tweeted that they were changing to a more reinforced backing material. Has this...

Is the extended warranty worth it?

The maintenance plan is even less value. I brought my car in religiously for the included service every 12500 miles and all they did was a tire rotation and alignment, change the wiper blades, and change the batteries in the key fob. The rest of the stuff like applying service bulletins (like...

    Supercharger Pay dates

The included for free figure is 400kw per car per year as stated by Tesla. It's not by the mile or by the minute. The easy way to think about it is just to divide this 400kW figure by your individual battery capacity to see how many "full" charges that would equate to and how many rated miles...

Is the extended warranty worth it?

Got it for my Sig P85 and blew through the 100k miles within 4 yrs. I bought the extended warranty before they came out and warranteed the battery and drive unit for a flat 8yrs unlimited miles. I figured a 1.0 product would warrant extra coverage since I knew I would exhaust the original 50k...

10 Knee jerk thoughts after pickup

I've only driven on coils with 19s, and I remember thinking the ride was ever so slightly "bouncier"...but not in a harsh way. As far as potholes go, I don't know how 19s would perform, but I can tell you that the 21s on my P85 absorb pothole impacts just fine...I've only ever popped one tire...

New MS 3 weeks ago - 1st service center appt for paint and other issues

It's a great car, the Model S. you won't be disappointed once you finally have it back. My question to you and others who might have had this experience is this: At delivery, is it reasonable to accept a new $100k car and part with the $$$ or start payment on it when the car is not delivered...

Buying New 90D, Keep Sig P85?

I think you are right, Mike. It's basically an emotional attachment that I've got to the Sig. The hoarder in me sees the value in keeping it, and the accountant in me laments the extreme depreciation. But the reality is that I will rarely drive it after getting the newer, nicer, more...

New and future owners, need your input!

The 21" wheels are nice looking, but egads it's too easy to damage the rims. And compared to the 19s, tire costs and availability are ridiculous especially since the tires will wear so much faster. I get maybe 20k miles per set of tires with my 21" wheels. 19" wheels give you a smoother ride...

Buying New 90D, Keep Sig P85?

My kids won't be driving anytime soon, and I had just bought my wife a Nissan Pathfinder earlier in 2016 when her car crapped out. And I have a Honda Element for out of towners to drive when they visit. I'm thinking, who wouldn't want a $30k 250 mile range Tesla with free supercharging. And...

Help - Ordered today but didn't get premium package. Is it worth it?

Lighted door handles, power lift gate, and the interior ambient lighting--all of these I have found to be surprisingly useful. But if you never experienced it, I can understand how you wouldn't miss it. Btw, what is the "quick connection phone dock"???

    Front Plate Frame Removal

Owned my Tesla for over 4 yrs and have not installed front license plate. I've gotten one fix it ticket for that (in SF Bay Area) but only after getting pulled over for speeding and the cop took pity on me. Ended up zip-tying the front plate to the car to get the ticket dismissed and then...

Buying New 90D, Keep Sig P85?

I've owned my Signature P85 (VIN 855) since November 2012 and since that time have driven it in excess of 123k miles. AP2 hardware and end of free Supercharging pushed me to pull the trigger on a new 90D recently. I'm now trying to decide whether to keep the P85 or trade it in for the $32k...

Model S P100D Delivery Issue/Possible Rebuild Necessary - Help Please

    Wacky Insurance Quote or Not?

Thanks for all the replies. And yes, this is about the difference I am finding too. The crazy thing is that my P85 is 4 years old vs. the 90D I am getting. Plus, the sticker price of both cars (new) are only about 10k apart.
