Tried the P100D Raven , wow what a nice car compared with a Model 3. I was impressed by the air suspension how it absorbed all the bumps even on sport setting without any drama, even with the 21” wheels mounted. The model 3 feels like a noisy gocart compared with the S. Anyway the sales guy...
Can only be tires or wheel spoke design + ET28 offset. But I noticed even at 10-20 mph speeds it less efficient than the 20” OEM Michelin. At that speed the aerodynamic impact of the wheel is negligible.
I own a Model 3 Performance but since we will have our nr 2 kid I am thinking of selling the car and buy a Long Range Plus Model S 2021.
I tried an S several times and loved the comfort on long drives, quieter interior, more space.
Now the Model 3 was just refreshed with heat pump, more...
I managed finally to take one wheel off after a lot of rocking , the center hub of the wheel seems to tight so when it mates with the rotor hub it will become very tight
Today wanted to remove one wheel to check my winter setup, guess what martian wheel wont come off even with lugs removed. I noticed when I mounted them 3 weeks ago that are not going all the way and align with the hub, guess after mounting the lugs are completely stuck. Never had this issue with...
I was expecting to get at least the same efficiency as the original 20'' but it seems maybe the difference is due to stickier tires. The PS4s on 19'' does not have the foam inside seem less efficient than the 20'' PS4s made for Tesla specifically. That's because also at lower speeds like 20mph...
Unfortunatelly my car gets poorer efficiency Wh/mi after mounting the wheels, could be the ET28 offset combined with the PS4S tires. Contemplating if should go back to 20” original wheels
The Michelin PS4 ( not 4S) is standard on the aero wheels for european model 3.The performance is good also the efficiency. Averaged 270 Wh/mi over 1500 miles with speeds between 70-100 mph
The aero wheels in Europe are coming with Michelin PS4 tires mounted. The PS4s should be better and offer more grip though. I was thinking getting T Sportlines 18” instead
Last year bought a P3D+ and havent thought so much about economy in terms of Wh/km . Last month bought a LR AWD with 18” aero wheels and drove across Germany with speeds over 130 kmh very often. Wow this car is so efficient compared with my P3D+, I averaged 172 Wh/km where my P3D+ would easily...
After 200 miles I cannot say the Martian 8.5x19 ET28 paired with Michelins PS4s are more efficient than my old 20” original wheels. Seems still far away from aero wheels efficiency. Could be maybe due to more aggresive offset combined with wheel spoke design being more open.
The weight is 20.8 kg (45.8 lbs) with Michelins PS4s. My winter wheels also 19” inch which are cast flow formed are 20.4 kg with Michelin Pilot Alpin 5
I am starting to have buyer remorse seeing all the discussion about weight and load rating and manufacturing process. I will ask Martian Wheels what is their position on these points
I received the wheels in August in 19x8.5 ET28 configuration. It seems the weight advertisd is inncorect on their website.
It weights 9.4 kg which is 20.7 lbs while website says 19 lbs , I am bit dissapointed since I was looking for the lightest wheels. The quality seems good and yeah are made...
My P3D has the same sound and I have taken the car to Tesla Service 3 times, they acknowledge the noise but claim its completely normal which I do not agree. Now I have a lawyer on the case but Tesla still refuses to do any fix.
Tesla own 19” sport wheels fit as well. They changed the lip so now can be mounted also on Performance cars. I had them mounted on mine without issues.
After having lightweight wheels as winter setup I hate the 20” performance wheels. They feel heavy and car feels slower to respond I plan getting rid of them and get some lightweight forged in 19” for summer also.
Between AWD with 19” and Performance with 20” I did not felt any difference in the comfort level and noise. Taller tire profile gives slightly better comfort but its negligable.
Between 20” and 18” probably there is a more susceptible difference but remember you can also mount 18” on...
I made a video with iPhone at 60fps, then counted the number of frames from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) then divided by 60fps and got acceleration time of 3.91s 0-62 mph.
Wet asphalt, 13C outside temperature, 70% SOC
Prior of taking delivery of my P3D+ I drove an AWD Dual Long range and was impressed with acceleration. I got motion sickness at first launches.
I was excited that my P3D+ will feel even faster based on internet reviews, however it does not feel faster to be honest.
I am starting to think...
Various videos about runs on Autobahn show that
M3P does 0-200 kmh( 124,2 mph) in 14,4 seconds. Thats on par with Bmw M3 E90.
M3D does 0-200 kmh( 124,2 mph) in 16,6 seconds. Thats on par with Bmw 340i, M140i.
So around 2 seconds between them.
I have an order on LR AWD, after reading a bit on the internet it seems the efficiency for LR AWD is almost the same as P3D.
With the latest price reductions, giving up the red color for black I can get P3D for only $5000 extra.
I am tempted to change my order to P3D, what do you think?
I...
