We will see what Q2 looks like, Kia just dropped the EV9 price by $7500. If one subscribes to the thought ICEs are competition, add up the sales of the Toyota Grand Highlander, Highlander, Ford Explorer, Chevy Traverse, and Honda Pilot, all three-row CUVs. Why would not go for that...

People are concentrating on the cheaper car but what about the other new vehicles. I am expecting a more affordable true 3 row vehicle based on a stretched on Y platform. Kia's EV9 will soon be joined by Hyundai's version. Toyota has announced the next gen Highlander will be all EV. And Honda...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I am expecting a smaller car. A smaller Model Y like vehicle has been rumored all along. Would make sense to debut it next to Juniper Model Y with the key difference being size. Its what Europe and ASEAN markets have been clamoring for. You can build different size vehicles on the same line.

The spy pics you see are often "meant" to be seen, and yes, this has been going on for decades (including the "Highland" leak IMO). How many Model Y spy pics did you see before debut? Tesla has been producing Model 3 Performances for about a month in China, did Tesla start taking orders for them...

As a car enthusiast and seeing the latest news through that lens, it now makes sense. 1. Lars came from Honda, so it makes sense they chose the Civic to tear down. The Civic is based on Honda's Global Platform. All of Honda cars excluding the North American Pilot, Ridgeline, Odyssey, and...

What does this mean? We have updated our future vehicle line-up to accelerate the launch of new models ahead of our previouslycommunicated start of production in the second half of 2025.These new vehicles, including more affordable models, will utilize aspects of the next generation platform as...

Maintenance will be cheaper for the common person with the LR. You do not want to price replacement low profile, two different sized, soft summer tires. that are rated for 163 mph top end. The tread life would be shorter than on the tires on the LR, but you have a stupid grin plastered on your...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If Tesla posts a modest profit it goes a long way in neutering the bad news regarding price cuts, inventory and layoffs. Especially since Wall Street wants to believe Tesla is going to post a loss. A small profit or a modest one does not change the narrative but shuts it up for a while.

I thought this happened already. Another round? 22K work in Austin before layoffs. When all is said and done the layoffs will company-wide will be closer to 20% or 25%. Tesla will definitely be leaner.

We will see how this chart looks at the end of the year. Energy continues to grow at a rapid pace? Awesome. My point is, looking at Tesla now, it is a car company.

Welcome to the car market. Remember all the talk about Tesla being a different car company. No, not really. After your product is on the market for awhile sales eventually slow until you give the market a new reason to buy your product. Be it money on the hood (price change) or new designs...

But that is the thing, no new factories are needed. The factories now are not at full utilization. There is slack in the system that could be used.

Does not bode well for new products. Unless work is being transferred to a cheaper but just as innovative China engineering team.

Yeah, but how does it drive and feel? When one closes the door is it solid or does it rattle for the next 10 seconds? How does it feel a month from now? That was what I was thinking. Even a $20K car is too much for countries like India and ASEAN markets. Maybe the engineering goalposts have moved, and a $15K or $20K car is the new goal. It would need to be basic yet Tesla-safe. In which case the $25K car would be dead.

In a controlled environment with all or most of the vehicles using FSD, I would agree wholeheartedly. Its why autopilot works so well in airliners, most if not all are using it (Airline SOPs). An environment that would work today is BRT or Bus Rapid Transit. Those lanes that are for buses only...

One would be more concerned about the employees who are presently working for Tesla. The way this layoff went down was haphazard and unorganized. Going to work to find your card key doesn't work. Layedoff and waiting for the next bus back to Killeen or Kyle. That was unprofessional and...

Over on Reddit, some Service Centers were hit with 40 to 50% cuts. I think when all is said and done it will be more than 10% as some have rumored. On the positive side, Tesla will be lean, very lean.
