Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

My boxes don't have any stickers... after reading all these posts I feel left out ;)

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Well, getting the car back for the weekend is optimistic. When I dropped mine off the estimate was 1 week. It's officially a 10 hour job, but it was their first time installing the track package. It ended up taking 2.5 weeks for some unexpected reasons (ordering a new tire mounting machine...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Interesting, thanks for the info. Can the brakes be burnished with this procedure any time (after some heavy use), or does it need to be done when they're fresh from the factory? What is the procedure that you used?

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Finally got a chance to do some hard driving over the weekend. One question I have for those of you who have installed the CCBs, is it normal for them to be noisy once they get warm? They don't make noise at high speeds, but when slowing down for hairpins or stopping, there's a pretty loud...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

What is everyone's take on the 'pile of stuff' they send home with you... is it worth keeping? The theory is that it allows you to go back to stock brakes, but I just don't see myself doing that, so I'm not sure I want to take up a bunch of space with it for the next few years. I told them I'd...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

Just picked my car up today after the CCB update and was about to ask the same question on this forum. I find that I need to apply more pressure at slow speeds than before, but they sure seem to grip well when I do, even when cold. Once I put some heat into them (some repeated hard stops from...

2021 model 3 LR heat blowing cold. Error

I also have a Model S Plaid, and this morning (Feb 26 2022) the heater stopped working with an error code VCFRONT_a447. The car was making some strange fart-like noises to go with that. Scheduled an appointment with the app for the earliest possible date (March 21 2022). 😔

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

Huh... I also notice quite a bit of warping in the front windshield. Luckily the worst of it seems to be on the passenger side, but maybe that's just the angle from which I'm seeing it. Is this 'normal'? I was going to let it go, but if the SC will replace it with a non-warped windshield...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

I picked up a new Plaid Thursday evening, and everything was fine on the drive home. There was a pending software update (2021.32.22) so I started installing it before I went to bed. The next morning all my settings were gone and I'm unable to connect to the car with the app (neither iOS nor...

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

What version of the Powerwall firmware enables the Virtual Power Plant beta? I have v 3.10.14 of the Android app, v 21.20.2 of the Powerwall firmware and I'm a PG&E customer in NorCal, but I don't have the option. In case this was already asked/posted, then I apologize in advance about my...

Model 3 HW3 retrofit questions, wait time, issues

Yes. The calibration for automatic stopping completed before the calibration for auto lane changes. Also, there's a noticeable improvement with the reverse camera display. With HW2.5 it had a weird tint to it, and now it has vibrant colors.

Model 3 HW3 retrofit questions, wait time, issues

Got the HW3 upgrade installed today (San Rafael, CA). Dropped the car off at around 9am, and it was finished by noon. I kicked the whole thing off via the mobile app 'schedule service' exactly 2 weeks ago. It took about 10 miles for the cameras to calibrate for the stop sign/light behavior...

    Lowering the Model 3

It's of course more firm which you notice going over big bumps, but also surprisingly forgiving on small bumps. It's not as harsh as my previous car (BMW M4). Long trips won't be a problem. I guess I'd say if your baseline is a European sports sedan, then this will feel great. For the ride...

    Lowering the Model 3

The MPP Sports Coilovers that I ordered in November for my Stealth Model 3 Performance finally arrived this week. Had them (plus toe/camber arms) installed by Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley and they did a great job with the ride height and alignment. I couldn't be happier with the results...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

What are these jumper harnesses and what are they for? Some kind of adapter for the rears? Where can I get them? Does that mean the rears can not be simply swapped out? Thanks!

    Range hit with aftermarket wheels?

I recently did a wheel upgrade on my P3D- (Stealth) and didn't notice a measurable change in efficiency. From: Stock 18" Aeros with aero caps removed, 42 psi cold To: T-Sportline 19" TSS Flow Forged w/ Continental ProContact RX tires (package), 41 psi cold I think the rubber may make a big...

    Lowering the Model 3

That looks visually like a perfect set-up. When you say it rides better than stock, could you elaborate? Also, did you do anything for camber, or are you not worried about it?

Thinking about joining legal action on recent massive price cut

Don't panic, think it through: For simplicity, let's say you bought a car for $60K, after which the price drops to $50K. After the usual 3-4 year 50% depreciation, the used price will be $30K and $25K respectively. You're now pissed because you think you lost $5K. Don't get angry, think...

What exactly does this V3.0 SC mean? Faster charging?

Unless some thermal protections are removed, we can expect charging speed to only slightly increase between about 5% and 20% SOC, using a typical supercharging profile as reference. I think the big win will be the ability to charge at higher power levels when sharing stalls with another car.

FSD early adopters - anyone else feel like they lost the bet? [Update - Early Access for FSD Buyers]

I purchased a 2018 P3D- with the FSD option and couldn't be happier about the news this week. I'm so glad that more folks will be able to enjoy this marvel of a car. This just keeps getting better! First we got a 5k refund check, and now I may get an invite to an early tester program? Wow...

    Night driving temporary panic

LOL same thing happened to me a couple of times. The mind drifts, then I glance down and see just darkness... years of instinct takes over... no engine sound... PANIC!!! Glad it’s not just me :)
