Thanks M3Posh. Originally we used a USB stick that wore out and threw USB errors, but in this case USB was working fine. Upgraded to a Taptes USB hub that fits inside the 2018 M3's center front console, neatly hiding a 500GB Samsung MU-PC500T drive (both from Amazon). No 'Check USB' problems...

Let's hope not - though it does seem that Sentry isn't good at detecting threats from the rear of the vehicle. According to the Deputy Sheriff who took an incident report, it's not the first time he's had reports of Sentry failing to trigger from rear end damage.

Agree, now I just need to remember to do the weekly deletion. Fortunately, as long as the file name is recovered when undeleting files, it's easy enough to narrow down the files of interest by date/time.

Have looked, but there's no sign of indication from what I can tell, at least not for mid-2019 files that recorded an accident during broad daylight. Maybe at night turn signals would be more apparent in the video.

Just having a video that includes road features such as dashed lane lines that are a standard length indirectly tells your speed. What would be extremely useful in contested situations are turn signal status indicators in the video, so you can prove you were signaling correctly. In the video...

Agree, had the same problem in the mountains with no cell reception for voice commands. Defrosters need to be accessible with one click. It's a safety issue. There's plenty of room along the top edge of the screen for more dedicated or user-selectable buttons, that would be a good place for them...

Unfortunately, other folks have found out that uninstalling updates is not possible, even by a Tesla Service Center. With all the feedback being created, we just have to hope that Tesla listens and makes UI improvements quickly.

We actually had rain the other day here in LA, and I'd say the M3 rain sensing has improved considerably over the downpour it took to trigger auto-wipe back in 2019. Still not quite as good as the old Corolla, which has a real rain sensor, especially at night.

Exactly right Sam - millions of driving miles out in the country with no cell service means an intuitive UI is still critically important. And the voice interface is missing important controls that are buried in multi-click menus - for example, "turn headlights on/off" when entering/exiting...

All very well, just as long as you have cell service. A good, intuitive UI is still needed for when you're out in the country. More voice commands are needed for important controls too, like "Turn on/off headlights" for when you enter/exit a headlights required zone in the daytime.

Go with the Long Range, and consider 18" aero wheels. In what passes for winter here in Southern California, 250+ miles on 19" sport wheels in a M3 LR AWD is not a problem, but like all vehicles high speed eats in to range, as does cold temperature. There's a great summary of range vs. speed vs...
