What Shall We Call The New S Design?

Most car people would just call it a facelift! So these are the facelifted cars and the older cars are pre-facelift.

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

It appears from this picture that the front seats could be suspended in a untraditional manner (as the second row is), almost like they are "floating". This would be consistent with the idea that the seats slide down and forward and hug the front seats.

    Towing: Tesla delivered by Tesla?

Maybe that's partly why Elon wants to reveal them at delivery. Delivery of Model Xs on trailers using Model Xs, seems like an Elon thing to do! adds to the show and at ~7000lbs including trailer, sounds doable.

    Model X 85D or P85D?

Assuming pricing, range, and acceleration differences are similar to Model S, which model do you (or would you) plan to buy and why? Like to hear your thoughts. Currently have a Sig 85 Model S which is plenty fast for us, and are looking to add an X with similar performance, but P85Ds seem to be...

What will MX be cross shopped against?

No way of being 100% yet, more of an educated guess. Simply speaking from my experience with our current XC90 and Model S seats, I've personally found Volvo seats to be the best. Also from what I'be read, the upcoming XC90 is expected to have more interior room than the outgoing model with a...

What will MX be cross shopped against?

I agree, and more like $30k after tax if fully loaded. The XC90 also has a ton of active safety features, unlimited range, roof rack, and more comfortable seating in all three rows. We're on the fence between the two to replace our XC90.

Dual Electric Motors - does it reduce range? Possibility of FWD only?

What do you think the torque distribution will be for the Tesla AWD vehicles? It would be nice to have a user adjustable front/rear bias from the touchscreen, something that is not so easily adjustable with a single ICE motor and centre differential. I'm thinking like a slider control such as...

    Canadian Signature discussion

Just an added note to BC Residents: Got a ICBC quote for Sig Model S at $3900/ year and that's with 43% discount!

    Canadian Signature discussion

Just talked to a sales rep and received VIN 2033- (Sig #31) Delivery still unknown - quoted at "hopefully before the end of the end of the year" :frown:

    Model S Wagon?

Found this photoshop on google - thoughts anyone? I think it would make a great car... personally find it more attractive, and is definitely more practical than Model S with additional headroom, cargo room and roof rails. Anyone else feel the same, and would you buy it?

    Latest "Finalize your order" date

What's going on with Canadian Signatures? Anyone know if they will still be done on time?

Feature request : Cabin Cooling Timer

That's a really good idea! Especially for all us who have experienced an unexpected rain and wet interior from an open sunroof. I suggest you send an email to Tesla - it seems really easy to implement over a software update!

Is the lack of electrically-folding mirrors a big problem?

Good news everyone! A representative from Tesla got back to me today - turns out the side mirrors ARE in fact heated. If I may quote him, "The mirrors on Model S will be heated if you opt for the Nappa Leather (this is tied to the heated seats and memory functions that are included with the...

Is the lack of electrically-folding mirrors a big problem?

I agree with you guys. I just sent Tesla an email request for a power-retractable heated mirror. I suggest each of you send them some feedback too - if they get enough pressure, perhaps they will come up with something by the time Canadian Production starts. Wishful thinking I know, but it's...

Is the lack of electrically-folding mirrors a big problem?

Also, forgot to mention NO heated mirrors or washer nozzles. A little odd, considering they come standard on a $20k VW Golf. They seem to have forgotten about customers living north of California!

Is the lack of electrically-folding mirrors a big problem?

Width of car including mirrors is listed at 86.2"! Seems like an oversight to not include electrically folding mirrors for such a wide car (wider than some SUVs). Will anyone else have to manual fold their mirrors every time when parking in their garage, or even on the street?

    Model S HVAC

That's hilarious! Only in America...

    Which cars delivered when?

We were told to expect our Canadian Signature by October. He said Canadian Signatures would be delivered at the tail end of the US Signatures.

Just received Fremont email! - Canadian Signature #31 @vger I assume you must have got yours too.

Colored DRLs, Colored Calipers, and other Tricked Out Options?

I think the Performance Model S should come with red coloured caliper covers, or at least the option. Anyone else agree?

    'Get Amped Tour' Email Invites

Just talked with a customer service rep, he said that likely 2 of the 10 test cars will be performance models.

    Tesla Model S VIN 1

I agree - the P85 logo might look a little silly. It might be worthwhile to start a poll on a factory debadging option such as in Europe. I'm sure there's a lot of us out there, maybe Tesla will take a hint.

    Reactions to the Model X

I think the so-called "Falcon Wings" were just an attention grabber, but in reality a huge oversight. They are a deal breaker for a significant amount of buyers first of all due to the required overhead garage space which many do not have (aka. outside Southern California). The second reason, is...
