    Overstay charge

Hi, I received an overstay charge but my car was still charging and not 100% full, it was around 98%, I had a long trip so trying to get full charge. I thought I would only get an overstay/idle charge if the session had completed. I’ve checked the usual text on Tesla and it says once the session...

    Calculating 100% Charge Miles

As I say just due diligence, I can’t ignore that if the calculation shows a very low figure I will want to walk away, if its reasonable then all the other indicators can be included like with any car it’s not one thing that indicates how the car has been treated, it’s a combination of things...

    Calculating 100% Charge Miles

Thanks guys, essentially I’m just using it as a bit of due diligence, there are many variations to the estimate but I just want to be roughly in the ballpark, ie if its silly low for any reason, I’m expecting a X100D to say 270 miles ish on typical setting, plus or minus 10 is fine.

    Calculating 100% Charge Miles

Looking at second hand cars and one key criteria is what’s the miles shown at 100%. I’m thinking its rare to see the car fully charged to 100%, so does this give the correct answer: 1) set the display to typical miles and record that figure (Miles) 2) set the display to energy % and record that...

    Wall charger issues

Hi, We had a similar issue, turns out that one of the cables on the handset had come lose/broken. It was remotely diagnosed by Tesla. We noticed if you untangle / twist the cable it made things work or not depending on how many twists. Replaced the whole unit under warranty and now 100% fine.

    21" Arachnids (silver/grey) for sale

Hi Ed, Thank for the info, I am interested but won’t be around for a few weeks after tomorrow, out on business, when I get back I will see if you still have them.

Hi Ed, What make tyres are on them. Do all 4 fit in the back of the car?

    App shows charging 0 mi/hr ?

After a few days it fixed itself, so s/w glitch is probably correct.

    App shows charging 0 mi/hr ?

My app shows charging 0 mi/hr but the car is charging as the miles increase in line with 22 mi/hr. This happens on one car all the time, the other car I have it shows normal 22 mi/hr. I can’t find anyone else experiencing this, any ideas what is causing it?

    Model S 75D v Model S P90D Range

Thanks Ames, that’s the same experience I have, good to know I have nothing strange going on.

    Model S 75D v Model S P90D Range

Yes, I had a loner 100D for a week and it’s range was for more than either of mine.. i was expecting the P90 to have more range than the 75 but it was equal, so was a bit concerned that it had a bad battery, but from what I can tell it’s spot on.

    Model S 75D v Model S P90D Range

Thanks, I have just tried the planner and it confirms the 75d is the same as the p90d when I check my daily commute of 90 miles, it shows exactly what I currently end up with in % .... fairly impressive how accurate it is!

    Model S 75D v Model S P90D Range

Just wanted to see if anyone had experience of the range difference. I have both of these cars and the full charge rated and typical is fairly similar, in fact the P90 is a little less (by 5 miles). In actual use they are roughly the same if driven in the same manner. I have read that the P...

Range Mode on P90 doesn’t do what I expected!

Thanks for all the input, I guess lots of other factors overrides range mode. I will continue my test on the regular commute. Has anyone got any journey comparisons with range mode on v range mode off? How much difference does it make in %? My commute starting at 90% I end up at 49% - 51% so...

Range Mode on P90 doesn’t do what I expected!

thanks for your experience, I wasn’t sure what to make of it, I did 100 miles today and switching range mode off got me under 400, but with it on I couldn’t get belo 430. It doesn’t make much sense, I will try again on my normal 40 mile commute and see if it differs, although there are so many...

Range Mode on P90 doesn’t do what I expected!

My 75D range mode off can easily get 330 Kw/hr. My other car is a P90D and I was getting 430 Kw/h and tried to get below 400 on a stable long run. I had Range mode on and no matter how careful I was, it stayed into the 430, I decided to turn Range Mode off and it started to drop and got below...

Transfer of ownership and app access?

Thanks, so there is no chance the previous owner has access if I have access (which I do). I assumed this was the case but was curious if there has been any reports of previous owners still able to access the car.

Transfer of ownership and app access?

Thanks for the reply, I doubt you can control it but wondered if anyone has tested it. If my wife was driving and I was at home how much control does the app let you do, honk horn, flash lights etc. I would be surprised if you could but can’t find the exact list or any firm facts.I did notice I...

Transfer of ownership and app access?

I’vr searched arround but can’t find the answer to these couple of questions. 1) once transfer of ownership has been completed is there any chance the previous owner still has access to the car via the Mobile app? 2) whilst driving what could someone do remotely with the app, ie open trunk...

Alarm set off by a different remote

Ah, so that may have debunked my theory then! Car no 2 aka the wife is out of town this weekend so I cant investigate further until it’s back.

Alarm set off by a different remote

Yes, I think that may be what is happening, I can’t replicate the alarm going off by doing this on purpose but I think an open then auto close of the port may be enough to set it off on the odd occasion. Thanks everyone for the comments , the combination of feedback is getting me close to the...

Alarm set off by a different remote

So, I had a bit more of a play today and a few things I’ve noticed... 1) this has happened when the 2nd car (alarm set off) is parked with the read near the 1st car, to date it is usually parked the other way around, with the rear further away. This suggests that the charge port is the cause. 2)...

    Replace number plates???

In the UK if you try to fit normal plastic plates you will probably break the surround/mounts, this is because Tesla use the thin metal/aluminium plates. I went through this journey and discovered it first hand! The plates you get from most places like Halfords are too thick so you need to find...

Alarm set off by a different remote

Hi JohnnyG, it’s car number 2 that goes off when I am unplugging car number 1, they are both outside and about 3 meters away from each other....it’s very strange as I am not near the car that goes off and it’s all locked, no windows open etc... It doesn’t make sense. I am sure this scenario...

Alarm set off by a different remote

Thanks for the replies.. murphyS90D - That's sound like a reasonable explanation but I haven't experienced this at a dealership where there are cars charging and cars next to them locked and not charging..... if this was the case dealers would get this issue all the time, and potentially...

Alarm set off by a different remote

This has happened twice now, I have two model s cars, when I went to unplug one of the cars the alarm on the other went off (that car was not plugged in/charging). The sequence was ‘unlock using the fob’, then pressing the charge release button on the handle. Anyone had this problem? The other...
