    Spaceship/whirling RDU noise?

Yep, typical failing early drive unit sound. Had the same on my 2013 P85 twice. Unless the car has very low milage its probably not the original drive unit. Many failed quite early and were replaced before they had all the issues sorted so will fail again.

The big torx is for adjusting the flushness of the handle when retracted. The small screw behind the micro switch is what you need to adjust for triggering the door latch.

Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

Yep, that matches my 350V pack almost exactly, maybe a std config for 85kWh replacements. Have been really happy with this pack, better range and charge speed than the original.

Completely agree whitex. My mcu1 also works just fine, I can live with a couple of tenths latency. Also no interest in Netflix etc. so 2k makes no sense.

Supercharging Speeds: Who, what, where, why, and when

Yep, matches what I am seeing with the 350V pack as well. Feels close to how the old 400V pack was pre-chargegate. Also, the car performance feels normal, not experiencing any sluggishness due to the 350V pack in my 2013 P85+.

Exactly the same as with mine. It is still better than the old battery, and the 7kWh top end buffer should ensure it stays that way for years.

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

They never stated 85kWh would be available, for any battery system designed to last for years of heavy use you need to have margins and buffers to ensure the required lifespan. Admittedly, as en electrical engineer with years of experience with lithium batteries, I might see this differently...

Well 77 kWh actually, if you want to compare like for like. I am perfectly happy with this, that is just the industry standard for specifying batteries. On further thought. If screen area usage is an important concern, I do not see how a header with a drop down menu is any more efficient than tabs. A down arrow would help highlight that there is something more hiding behind what looks like a header. Perhaps tabs going across would be an idea, CPU-Z style? Or integrating it into the hamburger menu somehow.

Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

Thanks for the insight. As an EE, I must admit I find it a bit disappointing that the BMS is not capable of handling even a single blown cell fuse. You would think that would be a reasonable design requirement. Well, I guess they had other priorities.

Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

It means Tesla is not interested to sell battery packs or keep older cars on the road for a reasonable cost. That is a shame, since it blows the whole sustainability proposition to pieces. The promise of being able to upgrade the battery for a reasonable cost was a major selling point when I...
