2018 M3P is in to Tesla service for a windshield replacement and I see they're driving it. Not like a mile, more like 10 miles with freeway / side streets. Is this normal?

I don't find it slower than my prior 911 (2013 4S) for typical highway passing. It may not seem as crazy of an experience as there isn't the intense howling and whining of the ICE engine, but no regrets and it doesn't "feel" slower to me. Now if I were cruising at 85+ and gunned it the story...

As a prior Porsche 911 owner who recently acquired a model 3, I would expect even harsher feedback in the Porsche forums. The # of lawyers over there is significantly higher than here. :)

I'm using NOA ~75 miles per day and see the same behavior as OP.

Received purple stickers. They are very purple. Not yet installed.

I love it and use it daily for 95% of my ~80 mile commute in LA area. After about a month of using it i've figured out where I use it and when I don't. It's not perfect, but very helpful easily worth it in my opinion.

Warranty covers issues which arise. If you are choosing not to accept a remedy, i.e. you don't want them to remove the dash, you are actively choosing not to accept the typical remedy most manufacturers would offer in these situations. Regardless if Tesla, Porsche or BMW, it's the same...

I believe it's Elon's statements about the Performance variant of the 3 noting it would have a ludicrous mode. I don't think any times have been discussed.

I seem to recall it being stated the performance variant of the M3 would have ludicrous mode.

We can have our cake and eat it too.. Track mode is for the track and we need ludicrous mode for launching. Separate not connected items.

May be a bit off topic, but can anyone tell me if there is a "launch mode" and the procedure to launch from a stop?

The ability to read a popup and make a decision is important for the model 3 driver. If she is unable or unwilling to do this and will just start clicking to drive, this car may not be a good fit for her.

Understand we're all hoping to just keep the car in the lane with EAP / drive on navigation etc, however it would be nice if the car could detect within lane debris and attempt to maneuver around if safe. I know the title is somewhat whimsicle and don't honestly expect the car to see a nail...

Worst case is likely 50 miles which is on the purchase contract as a default, much more likely to be 5 or less.

I have a 3 MR white seats, FSD. I was expecting much longer timeframe. Car was made after I ordered and delivered in ~ 3 weeks from pushing the order button online. I say no problem...

If you ran the motor in the lab at 155mph you could complete 1 million miles in 270 days. They may even run at a higher mph for a shorter duration, and/or extrapolate reliability. In the space world one can emulate 3 years on mars in about 6 months in the lab.

I am selling my 2013 911 C4S and have ordered a model 3 performance. I moved farther from work and traffic is a nightmare, tech / autopilot were major factors in decision. I was shocked with acceleration when i test drove!
