Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Just met with Nhaneezy today to get the CCS Combo 1 adapter. Super nice guy! We had a good chat, and it's working well on my Y! Although the world of CCS Combo is a lot more unpredictable than supercharging, but it's great to have multiple options. Currently sitting at a EA charging station. 4 x...
Do any people here have their Scan My Tesla 'nominal pack remaining' amount? I'm at 72.9KWh down from 82.1KWh 'full pack when new'. Quite a big drop... Car has 11K miles and is June '21 build. It's dropped faster than my 2018 Model 3 did.
Please PM me too... am going on a road trip in late June and have a leg of the trip where there is not a supercharger, so am trying to find ways to make it through that part of the route.
Would love to know wexactly where you see the 'remove FSD' option, and/or at what stage. I'm at the 'Prepare for Delivery' stage where I need to enter my delivery location, and don't see any option to remove FSD at this stage of the process.
It's great to see chargers going on th other side of the highway... That's where the food and kid entertainment is, without having to cross the dangerous highway
You explained it better than me. I wanted the original style of white door vs. the new style that will eventually make it to the Y. More important than the new headlights for me, as I like a brighter, whiter interior.
Correct. Eventually the Y will have the 3 interior, so the trim in the center of the door panel will remain black, regardless of your interior trim color choice. You can see the impact on the 3 configurator. I prefer the white trim insert vs. the white strip that continues around from the dash.
Took delivery of my 211K VIN yesterday, and it has old headlights. It's fresh off the production line listed as a June build. I wanted the lights, but I also wanted the white interior that extends to the door panels, so picked my battle.
Yep that's why I want to remove it until after purchase, as I overlooked the increase in car registration fees, which won't apply if I get it after delivery. Ugh, my SA says he can't remove it without reconfiguring the price
Where are you seeing the remove FSD button? I don't see the option on my order. I'm getting ready for final payment and then delivery over the next week. Does it appear after you connect your bank info for final payment? Or somewhere else?
As a general rule of thumb, the vast majority of US deliveries happen in the 3rd month of each quarter. The first month is mainly exports. There are exceptions, and once other Giga come online that will change. So September is likely something you can plan for as it's 3rd month of Q3.
I was out driving at dusk the other day on an undulating road with a 3 with the new lights behind me. I'm in the Bay Area, so Teslas are everywhere. I did notice a difference with the way the lights shone onto and into my 3 and with what I saw in the rear view mirror. The beam cutoff was a lot...
Thanks for sharing the Doc. Do you know who made the doc? Is it a member of this forum? One helpful add would be VINs when each feature went live... Even helpful for people buying used too.
It's interesting that the new door panels are now something to add to the 'should I wait for that too'?. Actually not a fan of the new trim, as with a white interior you lose the white inserts on the doors, which I really like. Hoping I can thread the needle here and get new headlights, 82Kwh...
I was hoping I could get a Y stealth with 7 seats. A stealth to match my 3 stealth but hope is fading that this will very be made, especially now they have seemingly bifurcated the actual components between the trim levels, so it's more than software. My SA is still looking, but hope is fading :(
This is interesting... If these are indeed different from the matrix lights already coming on the 3 and the MYP, then that's the 3rd light since the 3 launched, which doesn't seem very efficient with respect to economies of scale, but none of us can seem to predict what Tesla will do next. I'm...
I came from a Leaf too. Can totally relate... Lots of times driving (possibly unsafely) with misty windshield to ensure I made the journey. It's so liberating to not have to worry about charge/range
I imagine they will be much smarter in applying any sort of discount/rebate/credit this time round. They learned lessons from the previous credit and manufacturer phase out. Most people that benefitted were those buying expensive electric cars, which is not the intent of the credit. The intent...
There's a separate thread on the headlights Here
In summary... Only on MYP so far. They're a lot of people holding out for them being rolled out across the line in Q2 (including me). So far no sightings of them on Q2 vehicles yet.
Plenty of people could/should by used EVs too or get a deal on a Leaf or Kona that still qualifies for tax credits. Problem people WANT the latest iPhone Max vs. the Alcatel xyz... Both make calls. Except scale that problem to $20K vs. $50K. Lots of people getting in over their heads trying to...
Would the owner of the spreadsheet be open to adding some columns to the 'Form Responses' (i.e. the raw data)? If we added - things like - New console (yes/no), HEPA (y/n), New Headlights etc. (You get the idea) we can better track which feature/upgrade gets turned on at what approximate VIN...
I am intrigued if they'll be a push to close out orders in Q1... Especially since some people might delay now due to the possible tax credit. When do we usually know? By the 15th of the last month of the quarter?
Thanks for clarifying. Interesting. My calculation works out at 74Kwh... Which is confusing as I'm confirmed 8% loss at my stage (by Tesla, at ~30K miles)
(224 * 264 / 0.8) = 73,920
