Will MX fit in my garage?

I have wall cabinets 40" above the floor in my Garage and I want to check if the front of Model X will fit under the cabinets. Can anyone advise the min / max height of Model X. I think a height measurement 15" in from the front of the car would be fine ie aligned to the front edge of the tire?

I have the 10kw Tesla/Solar City back up battery, installed cost was $5k over a year ago - interesting that Solar City is not on the Channel Partner list

Oh this is fantastic news Dave. Congratulations. Looking at your pics you must have used cruise control right? Love the right of passage part to the story as well. Look forward to hearing more about your pre-trip research as well!

Best Route for 400 mile Challenge

I can throw in some additional data points that may help anyone interested in this: Folsom Harris Ranch - trip | EveryTrail shows the elevation profile for my route. 1. Just myself (165lbs), no luggage or passengers 2. 21" wheels, tires were marginally "scrubbed in" with 250 miles on clock...

    Westerndh's Model S pick up & Elon's 400 mile single charge challenge

40 mph is too fast for this challenge. I found I achieved lowest consumption at 25mph. 30 - 35mph was about 5% more consumption.... I'd love to say I was king of anticipating stop signs, but I found different towns use different settings for their signals, making it quite tricky to anticipate...

    Westerndh's Model S pick up & Elon's 400 mile single charge challenge

Yes I would love to. My route plan had a total elevation gain and loss of 1,000 feet, Harris Ranch is close to some pretty steep grades, so I was avoiding that. For sure I'd borrow some 19" wheels and find a route that really allowed a constant slow speed. I would not attempt this on a freeway...

    Westerndh's Model S pick up & Elon's 400 mile single charge challenge

I've seen so many wonderful posts & video's (thanks Cinergi), I thought I'd post pics of 36 hours of getting to know my Model S Signature this weekend which included an attempt at Elon's 400 mile single charge challenge. Of course delivery day started a long time ago with this simple reminder...

    Model S Insurance

I live in LA, shopped around and no one could beat my current carrier, Encompass for $1,350 / 1 year with 250/500 with $500 deductible incl uninsured & 100 prop damage. Progressive, AAA, All State were all considerably higher. Odd thing was original quote was $1,629 but when the policy was...

    The Tesla Time Question

Tesla Window & Business cards Efusco - brilliant idea with the QR code. I've attached two rough designs using the QR code. One as a window sticker, the other as a business card. I figured it's worth incorporating a couple of headline features of the Model S. DM me if anyone...

    Illegal Parking & towing

I saw the comment below on this thread Model S Delivery Update - Page 147 regarding forced/unplanned towing. This raises a really important point, particularly as many owners are signing the front plate waivers. Other than "put the front plate on" / "park legally", any thoughts how to...

Warranty/Servicing - official Tesla responses (incl GeorgeB)

I find it interesting that so many people are against this charge, yet I’ve seen few real world examples of what people have spent on service/repairs over many years. In my case, I just sold my 2004 Volvo XC70 and I kept a record of all service costs over 9 years ownership which I've summarized...

    Performance vs. Non-Performance & an extra $10K

I went for non-performance not only because it's plenty fast enough already, but when I let people drive the S, they will see that the phenomenal base acceleration totally rocks which hopefully makes their buying decision a no brainer no matter which battery pack they can afford.

    Random Model S sightings

My first genuine "in the wild" Signature Model S sighting this afternoon in Rancho Mirage, CA. The driver slowly turned the corner onto Bob Hope Dr, then punched it. My wife said "wow". Was this anyone on the forum?

    Tesla Supercharger network

A Tesla guy by Elon's car answered some of these q's: 1. Believe this is the software charge only 2. not known 3. Not currently 4. Not currently, but they could have this capability as all plugs monitored 5. Varies between 1 and 6 currently 6. No, tesla only 7. No limit, DC to battery...

A Little Drive Over to Reno.

So if I am understanding the last 2 posts, to maximize range with Cruise Control in use, on mountain roads, you'd select mild regen, but then change to strong regen when coasting downhill?

    Perfomance vs Standard motor noise

I took a test drive in the Model S Signature Performance yesterday in Santa Monica, it was a pre-production model (not a beta). There was a very noticeable noise from the inverter when punched - I must say it sounded very exciting, like a jet engine spooling up, however I really noticed the...

    The Model S Name

During my flight yesterday, I was browsing this forum, while the guy next to me looked out the window / played games. When we landed, he looked at me and asked "Please tell me you've bought a Tesla" - I said yes. I think the focus should be on Tesla, not the model name, so good call with S & X...

Elon tweeted this last week - his first "real" vacation to Hawaii....anyone think this was a planned break, allow his team to come up with the punch list of fixes, while completely leaving him alone for a week, then will brief him this week to determine the must do fixes before the cars properly...

Which tires (really) come on the 21"s?

Which tires did the non performance sunset red have 21" - I drove that car at the Fremont event and tested the tires on the corners and they were amazing. I thought they were the Continentals - also found the ride incredibly comfortable. I can't read the sidewall in the pics, so hope someone...

    Open Center Console

I've followed the discussion on the center tray and was really worried. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is, what I believe will prove to be pure genius on Tesla's part. The role of women in men's purchase decisions. I believe universally Women will love the center console for the...
