Either way you’ve got to back; whether into, or out of, a parking spot. Might as well back into the spot, when you can see your surroundings; backing out of a parking spot it’s less obvious if there’s a car about to T-bone you. Also, quick getaway.
Here’s how I think about Enhanced Summon. Under the Self Driving umbrella, there are 3 driving “modes”: the parking lot, city/neighborhood streets, and highways. What’s really exciting to me is that Tesla has basically solved (or is close to solving) the parking lot piece of the Self Driving...
Thanks for sharing, but I believe the hills where I live in the Hudson Valley in NY are a better test. In particular, my Model 3 (w/ 2019.16.2) has trouble when the road curves just after the crest of a hill. It often can’t see the curve until getting to the top of the hill, at which point it...
Dashcam icon shouldn’t be gone. If it is, then it’s not reading your thumbdrive properly for some reason. Make sure it’s not full and try a two-button car reset. If that doesn’t work try reformatting the drive (after saving the videos you want to keep, of course). Make sure that TeslaCam folder...
A lot of griping about ELDA. Has anyone here actually experienced an unsafe ELDA interaction? Or are you just worried about what might happen? I’ve not had a false positive since I’ve had the feature (about 8 days now).
I concur and relate w/ your experience. While recognizing that the Driver Assist features in my Model 3 are far from complete, I am always ready to intervene if need be. I am actively monitoring what the car is doing (which, by the way, is exactly how autopilot works in planes - it MUST be...

Of course the driver is always responsible. You have to ignore several clear warnings in the Tesla UI to not understand this. They make it crystal clear what the tech can & cannot do.
Thank you for the info. FYI, here is the a rundown on the upgraded materials as outlined by a Dreamcase employee via email (I’m not sure when these new materials started shipping):
The staff was very helpful in answering my questions. I’m looking forward to testing the Dreamcase on my Model 3...
What was made from Alcantara - the duvet? I just ordered mine but was “upgraded” to the new version which includes the all cotton duvet. Should I try and get the “old” alcantara version?
Yep, these features (except possibly Key Fob summon) were all released in previous software versions. If anyone knows what’s new to 2019.8.1, please share.
Not sure I follow your logic. My point: TeslaFi will show what software updates its users get, Cali or not. Recently it’s been mostly Model 3s in California. Obviously it’s a representative sample, since not everyone is a member. But everyone can check the software stats, member or not.
Folks, a friendly reminder - posts saying “I got the update” and “downloading now” are about as useful as.....well, they’re not very useful! If you don’t have any real quality information to add, no need to post.
I suppose this post falls in that “useless” category as well. I’m sorry. ;)
If...
I don’t think that’s accurate. TeslaFi has shown hundreds of cars being updated to 2019.4.2 in the past 2 days (Feb 19-20). Most of the cars seem to be outside the US, and the vast majority are S/X models (although about a dozen are Model 3s).
I believe the larger point ibdb was trying to make was that, in all likelihood, a lot of “changes” people are noticing are most likely unrelated to this specific software upgrade. ; )
It’s human nature to assign cause to effect in a statistically imperfect way.
A confirmed workaround for the charge cable not releasing immediately is to press and HOLD the button on the charging cable for a second or so. Doing that, it has never failed to release the latch within a second in my experience.
I understand this is a bit off the original topic, but how to I react to a post? I’m signed in with my account. Reading posts from Safari on iOS. I don’t see the “react” option anywhere for any threads.
Just a shot in the dark, but if your new phone has the same name as the old phone, try unpairing your new phone (again); re-name it to something else (in the phone settings); then pair the newly-named phone. I’d be curious to see if that solves your issue.
Full disagree. How would you recommend that a company develop an FSD vehicle instead? I would contend that Tesla is doing exactly what it needs to and that this is on the path to FSD.
