I’m guessing that Texas GOVERNMENT is not letting local TX Tesla staff perform ANY dealer functions, and therefore you are almost dealing with TWO separate companies; Tesla CA, who is allowed to actually sell you a car, and Tesla TX that is only allowed to GIVE you a car, and service the car. From the United Road carrier website, it looks like most trucks carry 8-10 cars. Therefore, if we were to get enough of us together to get our own truck, then I think we could get Tesla to let us move them ourselves. It would save them money and time too. Right?

Just checked, Oklahoma City is 207 miles from Dallas. AAA Premier covers one 200 mile tow each year. So looks like doable. And free to Tesla. I'll pick up in Dallas instead of Austin and just drive down.

I paid in full, since my bank required me to pay for insurance while the car was in transit. I'll have my credit union swap the title with their name on it after I receive it. This should save me about $100 bucks.
