Anyone planning to color wrap your CT?

Yes, red satin metallic with ceramic treatment.

    Front Camera View

My wife likes to brag when her Outback does thing my Teslas don’t. Take one off her list. My CT has a front camera view by touching the icon on the squircle. It sure helps in determining how close to parking signs, walls and barriers I get, since I kept parking too far away otherwise. It was...

Model S refresh concerns about what it will bring to CT interior

The safety procedure is use of a spotter with instant communications with the driver, be it visual, loud voice, 2-way radio or cell phone. It’s not how you traditionally steer or whether using direct sight of the spotter or camera display. The rear camera lets one see the target (hitch), which...

Tesla has a new high-tech steering wheel with touchscreens and haptic feedback

True. Tesla calls the shape a squircle (squared-off circle). The shape allows hands to rest on top like a classic steering wheel, but also on the bottom like a yoke. The tactile feedback when turning on/off a turn signal is much better than the yoke. It took me at least 2 weeks to consistently...

    Steering Option Addition

After driving my MS Plaid with the yoke since July 2021, and turning down the after-market and Tesla‘s steering wheel options, I didn’t think the was another choice. It sure would be nice if the Cybertruck’s “squircle” were available for the MS. There’s a tactile feel to the buttons, hands can...

    Rear camera when towing

It would also be convenient if the rear camera were turned off when the tailgate is open, as when hauling a load of wood. Seeing a closeup of the road going by is of negative value.

    LTE / 5G

Documentation shows 2, 3 & 4G. LTE shows up on the screen when in range.

    No Midgate?

Yes, it gets wet somewhat in rain and car washes. The tailgate is a disappointment in that it does nothing other than be a tailgate when the competition has been adding capability—some for years. A step and mid-gate would be great.

    Cybertruck Beast

I had no trouble switching to the FS AWD version, which I decided was what I wanted. I’ll leave the acceleration fun to drag strips, road courses and occasionally the street with my Plaid MS. My CT is a work horse with better range than the CB. I’m quite satisfied.

I'm going to be odering a Plaid S and I'm requesting opinions of anyone who has the track pack ceramic brake upgrade

The carbon/ceramic brakes are great! When I checked in at the Barber Motorsports Park outside Birmingham AL, there was another Model S driver there, who said he attempted to run there (2.3 miles, 17 turns), but his stock brakes overheated after 1 lap. I was able to run 4-5 30-minute time slots...

Official Foundation Series Dual Motor Waiting room

Note that your state may have laws on how dark the driver & front passenger windows can be. Some states, like mine, require a medical waiver to tint the windshield even a little bit, except for the top few inches.

Official Foundation Series Dual Motor Waiting room

If it’s like any other trade-in, they offer below market price, but it is offset somewhat by sales tax you don’t pay, and hassle you don’t have trying to sell it yourself. I chose not to trade in my P85DL MS (offer too low) on my Raven Refresh MX Performance, but Idid trade in my MX on my Plaid...

Source for production of 1,000 Foundation Series?

The original Roadster had 27 Founder series made. I read there were on 41 Founder editions made of the Model S in 2012—all were dark red. The new Roadster will have 1000. The 3, X & Y had no such distinction. I’ve not read anything official about how many CTFS will be built. From a business...

Decline Foundation Series, but maintain place in line?

I disagree and was rather disappointed to read my list of features after I ordered a Cybertruck; it said Basic Autopilot, not FSD. The hardware will be there to use FSD, but the software won’t allow it until I pay extra. My current and previous Teslas have FSD; monthly fees weren’t an option...

My MX Raven Refresh Performance version had a 110vac near the lift gate inside—on the right if I remember correctly.

Decline Foundation Series, but maintain place in line?

When I followed the link for the foundation series, that’s what appeared, but when I just logged onto my account without following the link it was to configure a non-FS version. Also, typically Tesla offers the option to complete the configuration just before it’s built. The 2-motor FS version...

Anyone bought the track package for a daily driver?

On the other hand, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (come on Plaid cars) are AA traction and the Goodyear Eagle tires with the track package are only A traction. The latter tolerates repeated turns better. On the surface it seems the stickier tire would be better for the drag strip, since the...

Anyone bought the track package for a daily driver?

Unless you plan to run on a road course, save your money. I had no trouble stopping from 150mph on quarter mile tracks using the stock brakes. Since I run at race speeds on road courses, the track package was a must for me. The repeated application of brakes in many turns would max out stock...

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

It’s rather frustrating that I ordered and paid for the track package (TP) during the 1st round. Now the 2nd round has opened and closed, and I still have no ETA for the TP to my service center (SC). There are also 3 others at my SC still waiting for their TP arrival. Surely this won’t be as bad...

Tesla Model S Plaid 21" Rear Inner Tire Defect

I wasn’t aware of the problem until my RR tire lost pressure after about 8000 miles. The inside tread was shot with many of the steel wires visible and some broken. My LR tire was good enough to be a spare. I now know to inspect the tires for the part I can’t easily see—and get an alignment.

Getting (towing) the MSP track pack to the track

If you don’t notice the car slowing down when the battery is in the yellow, then red, maybe driving race speeds on a track is not your forte. The tow hook is made to be used to get the car onto a trailer or flatbed, not being towed behind another vehicle.

Are the Cybertruck's looks growing on you?

I like the slightly smaller size than the original and additional features added since the launch, but my first action after taking possession is to tint the windows to avoid the stares at the “crazy” driver with such a polarizing design. After 3 years the gawking will die down and I’ll still...

    Looking for T E S L A emblem on New Model S Plaid/Long Range

    Quad Motor

i converted my MS Plaid+ RN to MS Plaid and have had it 2 years as of July 2023, but I converted my reservation just after Elon announced the Plus cancellation. My RN stayed the same. Other factors may have made a difference, such as it was my 4th Tesla I had bought.
  29. Rupe

    Reservation number

It’s not as simple as subtracting the stated number for your RN. Other factors include: other models in that sequence, whether you reserved a tri-motor (now quad-motor) since it’s 1st to be released, and loyalty (other Tesla products you bought). I’m not sure they consider whether a buyer is a...

I ordered one from the Tesla website to bring my system up to 3. The status keeps saying I'll be contacted when it's available in my area. Tesla, they are available in my area, since they were installed this year and the installing company says they have others in stock.

Refresh Model S/X yoke controls owners survey

Tesla ”fixed” a problem that didn’t exist for me. I had no trouble seeing the instrument cluster with the round wheel, and could see more of the touch screen without moving my head, which gets to the fundamental issue of the compelling reason for the horizontal vice vertical screen, which I...

2022 Model S Driver Instrument Screen Customization

That’s logical for the Tesla (read Gucci) solution for minimizing one’s focus away from the road, but a simpler solution is better: adding a caution light on each side view mirror. My wife’s Outback is very good at warning that a vehicle is approaching/in that side’s blind spot. While I’m on the...

    Yoke peeling

Mine started peeling after a year of use at about 18,000 mile. The strange part is that is not where my hands rest or touch the yoke, except rarely. It's the outer corners. I haven't scheduled a warrantee fix--deciding on another steering style instead.

Thoughts on Yoke from Plaid owner

I've been driving my Plaid for 15 months and 22,400+ miles, which includes several all-day trips. I found the yoke to be comfortable on cruise using the lower part to rest one hand to let the car know my hand is there. I too was an Air Force pilot, and instructor in 3 fighter types. What I...

Anyone get a pano sunroof completely replaced and know price?

I did in my 2014 P85D. It was $600 something, not 4.5x as much. I just wanted the seals replaced, but was told the whole thing had to be replaced. It look good afterwards.

New update 2021.44.25 adds customizable app launcher like Model S refresh plus other major upgrades to system.

I had my Plaid for 5 months and it still doesn’t show the correct time zone after 9 updates. There’s 3 ways to get the correct time: GPS, WiFi and the most obvious, the LTE network. How about getting the basics fixed before the frilly updates, Tesla?

FSD beta testers, is your Safety Score gone from the app?

I’ve been tracked for 4 weeks and my score is still shown. I got dinged for aggressive turns at less than half the car’s capability. It’s so easy to do in a Plaid.

    Supercharger Pricing Map?

Didn’t realize there was such a disparity, but it matters little to me. it’s the “cost of doing business“ to take a trip in a Tesla, which I long since decided it was worth it. Since I drive mostly in the SE, it’s about twice what I pay at home. Destination chargers at participating hotels...

I strongly agree with your 1st paragraph. From the driver’s perspective I have yet to see an advantage to changing the screen to horizontal, except that one doesn’t have to look further from the road when looking at the bottom of the screen. The ergonomics of the button selection is much more...

    Love/Hate the Plaid

I think Charles Dickinson said it best in the opening of the Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity..." So we now record our Tale of Two Views.
