"Regenerative braking has been improved" on "Legacy" 2015 S70D thoughts

I thought improved regen was only going to be for Raven/M3 when I saw it somewhere in update notes on Electrek. But It seems I did get "something" on my 2015 Model S70D(Instrument cluster prompted of improved Regen). Didn't think any of us "Legacy" car owners were ever going to get anything of...

    Cooling louvers never open

One of my louvers would not open, Tesla fixed but think it was a $400ish job, had to pay that diagnostic fee. Saw somewhere that it's relatively easy to do and the part pre 2016 parts is 200ish on ebay

Reservation from Tesla- Used 17 Model X 100D for 60k advice

You're absolutely right there's got to be a whole lot of lease returns piling up. Tesla relisted the car a day ago and it's already down to 56k today. I'll be keeping an eye out the next few months for my perfect scenario 100D, White or mdnght silver, FSD

Reservation from Tesla- Used 17 Model X 100D for 60k advice

Been looking since Christmas but even after Model Y and corona, used 100D Model X prices have barely budged, thinking waiting is my only option with a ~60k limit as I really don't want a 75D or 90D This one out the door was 63.5k. New, no FSD after everything was just short of 90k and 25k over...

Reservation from Tesla- Used 17 Model X 100D for 60k advice

Thanks for the input, I'm thinking the same. I've just been searching the Sale forums/ev-cpo for months and have yet to see a single 100D Model X with FSD and warranty left for less than 70k+ EV-CPO archive there has only been 3(including this one) under 65k and none of the others had FSD. I just plopped down the $100 reservation on a 2017(May) model X 100D for 60k(My price limit) but now I'm on the fence due to mileage and color combo Upsides FSD included(AP2.0), Premium Upgrade PKG, Dual Chargers, Free supercharging, 100 pack Downsides 83k miles, 5 Seater, Not my favorite...

Thank you!!! Probably saved me from being charged $250+ by service center since they just replace and don't seem to try and fix. Huuuuge help, so glad to have a closing truck and AP after days of dealing with it.

    Replaced Battery Capacity

My 70D at 100% was around 234mi rated at about 70k miles with 100% charges about once a week. It was 236mi rated at around 55k miles when I got it. The refab 75 pack has less than 4k miles on it and rated is already down to 246 with me babying the hell out of it unlike I did with the 70 pack...

    Replaced Battery Capacity

My S70D had it's packed replaced also and Tesla doesn't seem to people what the cause was, I was only told they found a fault in the logs and will be replacing the pack and that's all I got out of them. Tesla replaced my pack with a 75kWh, but from what I read somewhere the motors pre-facelift...

90 and 75 battery packs getting nerfed early???

The 85's and 100's only seem to do this throttling after A LOT of miles and a mega ton of supercharging when the pack has gone through a good amount of degredation. 75 packs and 90 packs do this throttling very early compared to 85's/90's is what the concern or these posts.

    2019.12.1.1 on S75D AP1- Improved supercharging! (Slightly)

My car is a S70D that had the pack replaced with a 75 pack, the original 70(also 350v) would hit 116kW and had only lost 6 miles of rated range after 70k miles. The 75 pack got last December already lost 5 miles and only has maybe 3000 miles on it and at best got 96kW before this update. On my...

It will have LTE if it is 11/2015. All cars after early June 2015 have LTE. If you're curious what your car will have by year/Month this wiki page has a great rundown of options by year as they updated the cars: Model S - Options by Year - Tesla Motors Club Wiki

S75D better than 85D for road trips?

I prefer to use a"betterrouteplanner" for planning trips as I have found it much more accurate for my road trips(they use charging curve data from hundreds of cars of different pack sizes: interesting Tesla charging article they posted). I got curious so from a road trip I did before leaving...

    Touch up paint for MSM?

Even the small kit goes a long way, the paint match is surprisingly close but you'll still be able to see it was patched if you look at it closer than a foot away for bigger chips. Metallic paints are a bit harder to get to look "exactly right" I noticed when doing my girlfriends car...

Boosted SUC rate CONFIRMED on 2018 S75D w/ ver 2019.12.1

Do you keep a electric scooter/ bike in your MS to use while charging?

I work downtown but there's a free 240v charger with free parking about 1.5 miles from my work. Bought an electric skateboard(cheapo used $100 board) and it's been fun to say the least. Poll: "Systems are powering up" error message

Has happened 3 times in 6 months. if it takes longer than 5 seconds, I just lift my butt of the seat and open and close the door(to make car think you left and power off screens) and sit back down and press the brake; this resolves it instantly for me. I get too lazy to actually wait so not...

    V3 Supercharger Revealed 250kW

I don't think the voltage is the limitation, my S70D supercharging would hit around 116kW and it was a 350v pack. It was replaced early this year with a 75kWh pack and most I have seen is 96kW after that pack swap

How accurate is your Tesla trip planner for range? Very innacurate after pack swap

The estimates were from the very beginning when I first put in the destination, but even half way through a 3 hour drive it'd still be around 10% off. Rated range is surprisingly accurate though, I get is 250 rated and drove 224 on the stretch I pushed it the farthest. Really kicking myself for...

How accurate is your Tesla trip planner for range? Very innacurate after pack swap

In my 2015 Model S 70D with 19" slipstream wheels; the onboard trip planner had been surprisingly accurate at estimating remaining SOC on MCU navigation on the original battery. I've made a couple of trips hitting some of the same chargers before and the cars trip planner had been quite accurate...

2017 MS 75D - Battery Pack degrading much faster than previous generations

Holy Mackerel, Batman that's higher than average I think- My 70D(240 rated) got 231 at it's lowest at 70K miles and got it to 234 rated by doing some 10%-100% charges. Tesla replaced mine with a 75 that's getting 250 rated, hoping it does just as well as my 70 pack did

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

This is only a trend I've noticed starting since about the end of last year. Since I created this post I've seen a ton more users reporting that they got 90's in their 85's. Believe it is related to sourcing packs issues. That battery upgrade from 350v to 400v is surprising and Interesting to...

Infinite Mile Battery Warranty [Now] Being Honored By Tesla [Issue Resolved]

2015 70D with 70k miles, less than 4% rated range lost and no issues using the last few miles. Issue was only if I used a supercharger from a low SOC, I was surprised they swapped it just to fix that but idk their process.

Infinite Mile Battery Warranty [Now] Being Honored By Tesla [Issue Resolved]

While the model 3 warranty may cover degradation, it's also not "Unlimited miles" and in your case would be useless at this point. I'd rather take Unlimited miles 8yr and not explicitly say "Degradation". Last year I took my S in twice(Once for steering bolt recall and a follow up 2 weeks after...

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

    @5StarAdvisor Haven't seen a 60 go to a 85 or anyone going from a 350v pack to 400v pack. I did see recently this guy with a 2013 S60 had a 75 pack "Purchased a 2013 S60 or 75?" Only problem I've had is the MCU charging screen is getting graphical glitches- Instead of "75Kw +15KW 298mi/hr"...

My S supercharge speed seems to be restricted at ~50KW

Was not good lol, I could feel the heat coming off the car, reminded me of gas cars. As I mentioned Tesla replaced the battery under warranty after that issue which was awesome. My intent was that even with the cooling issues, it still hit high Supercharging speeds. But the phdwhite's car is...

My S supercharge speed seems to be restricted at ~50KW

I had quite the issue with cooling at Superchargers but I still hit 116Kw for a short burst then it would very quickly throttle to even 2Kw(1hr & 40min to reach 87%). If I unplugged It'd look like my screenshot from below, they replaced the battery under warranty but mine seemed like pretty...

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

An upgrade for a 60 to 75 I do see as too massive of a free upgrade like in the case of the Sean guy I linked in OP, he really beat up his battery. But a software-limited S60 who takes care of the battery would have to pay a good chunk of change to unlock to 75. A 70 to 75 and 85 to 90 really...

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

No software limit on mine, it's purely the different batteries. Original 70's can reach around 116kW but taper off after about 25%, 75kWh batteries don't charge over 100kW but don't taper off until around 50%. There's time-lapse videos on this from Bjørn on youtube, and "AbetterRoutePlanner" has...

Tesla replacing some battery packs with larger capacities 60/70->75kWh, 85->90kWh

***Pure Speculation but I don't think it's Tesla's intent or desire to give free upgrades for these older odd pack sizes when they have to replace the pack, but like the software-limited packs and the removal of the 75D option helps to streamline battery production and improve margins: I believe...
