Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I would be willing to buy one for my Model 3. Please PM if you’re looking to unload one with cost of shipping to either 98295 (WA) or V3G 0B1 (Canada). Thanks.
Did they give any indication of whether seasonal installation would be included for customers who bought the winter wheel and tire package online? Or is the "free installation", as I suspect, limited to the initial installation only?
I assumed based on the photo online that the package included the *covers* but I see now that the description indicates it included the *caps*. Presumably there's not much use for the caps if they're not visible behind the covers. I was planning to use the covers (for efficiency.) Is that silly...
Noticed today for the first time that the Tesla store website says that Canadian customers will get their tires delivered starting in November. Obviously they've already started deliveries and installations, so I'm assuming this means most folks will get theirs in November. Or in typical Tesla...
Ordered Sep 24th online. Received email confirmation right away, and credit card was charged at the same time. No word since. Called local SC a little over a week ago and was told they were using mobile service exclusively -- free if ordered online, extra charge if not. Advised to wait for a...
Is there any possibility the doors aren’t fully closed? The windows drop down slightly when you open them, so my first thought was the doors might be ajar. If not sounds like something is wrong.
TBH, I didn’t clue in that the rear seats fold down. Sweet.
Anyway, I pulled the trigger and ordered the Tesla package last week. Aside from charging my credit card upfront, I haven’t seen any indication of when they’ll be ready. I figure it’s still likely better to have the OEM all seasons on...
I called the SC in Vancouver as I'm considering buying the 18" wheel and tire package from Tesla and was curious about installation/storage options. Some things to note:
1. There is a mobile service installation option. They contract out to a third party and there's a fee based on distance...
How is it possible that Tesla doesn't maintain a version log announcing what's changed in each version? I gather from this and other threads that they leave it up to users to figure out on their own. It surely wouldn't be that difficult, and would presumably result in a net increase in customer...
I’m either incredibly lucky or incredibly oblivious. I picked up my car at Powell SC last Monday and never really stopped to inspect for defects before leaving the lot. A full week later, I still haven’t found any.
Correct. I'm not sure where I put mine after the installation, but thankfully the electrician who came back this morning to fix it had recently acquired an extra security bit.
As expected, it was simply the rotary dial setting. As soon as we adjusted that, the Model 3 accepted charging at 48A...
Thanks. He's been fully willing to come back and correct it, but I thought I might save him a trip if I could find a quick fix myself. In the meantime, it's a little painful having what was supposed to be a future-proofed setup charge at the same speed as a 110v outlet :-).
Thanks, everyone. I found some Torx bits to get the side screws open but didn't appreciate where the bottom screw was located. The installation video is super helpful for that. Fingers crossed!
I had my wall connector installed a few weeks ago on a new dedicated 100A circuit but didn't have a chance to test it before taking delivery yesterday. When I plug in, it only charges at 12A. No error message or anything.
I initially assumed/hoped the electrician simply forgot to set the rotary...
I had my delivery appointment at Powell Street in Vancouver at noon yesterday. It went swimmingly. There was one other person with a noon appointment. After checking you in, there's a comfortable lounge area with a Nespresso machine and a mini fridge. (I was far too nervous to partake, but...
The web site defaults to 4th avenue, but unless your ISA/DA tells you otherwise it may actually be at Powell. Once you see a VIN, you might want to call the Service centre to confirm. When I did this I was told the car was already at the lot!
My Tesla Finance rep confirmed today that if their calculations are slightly off or my bank draft ends up being slightly under the final balance due, they’ll take a personal cheque for the difference. Even when she tried adjusting my financing amount to line up with a balance that matched the...
Re: replacement insurance - Aviva has an 8 year replacement warranty policy that’s $4491 on an MSRP of $81,300. They also have shorter terms available. In addition to having a much better rate than ICBC’s replacement insurance, I feel a lot better knowing my car’s protected against depreciation...
Cananyone who picked up recently or is scheduled for next week shed some light on when the final contract docs and concrete numbers (rather than "estimated") for balance due are visible? I'm picking up Monday, and the balance due according to the ISA and Tesla Finance is slightly lower than what...
phtp's photos got me thinking I should try calling the Powell Service Centre to see if my 'tentative' delivery on Monday was looking likely. They checked the lot and confirmed my vehicle is already there. The MyTesla account page auto-generated Monday @noon as my delivery appointment, but they...
Loan approved yesterday; trade in confirmed the day before; VIN provided this morning with a delivery date of Sep 10 in Vancouver. If the timing holds, it will have been a week from the time my edit button disappeared and loan/trade in options opened up to delivery!
Interesting. Unless things are truly random, the only plausible explanations for \why my order seems to be generating more activity than yours are: (1) the red paint, (2) the 19" wheels, or (3) your lack of FSD.
*Edit: or... (4), Tesla is being strategic about where the vehicles will actually...
My credit application and trade-in questionnaire opened up on Sunday night as well (or at least that's when I noticed it.) Have you tried emailing Tesla Finance about your credit app issue? I received some shockingly fast responses on Monday, which is especially surprising since it was Labo(u)r Day.
Not sure if it’s a sign of impending AWD deliveries to Canada, but my trade-in and loan applications opened up last night (while I was vacationing in Seattle, FWIW.)
Still no VIN or call — it is a long weekend — but the automated web page said one business day for the loan and trade-in...
I’d be worried that if you upgraded the car with an after-delivery option like EAP and FSD and got into an accident that totaled the car, your insurer may refuse to cover the undeclared aspects on which you didn’t pay additional premiums. It’d be like buying a tear-down house and then renovating...
I’m in a similar boat. Last configuration was mid-July, and then I called to ask whether adding FSD would impact my delivery date and was told it wouldn’t. When I edited my design a few days ago (in August), my delivery window jumped like yours to Oct-Dec.
I’m optimistically hoping it’s just a...
I bit the bullet and edited to add FSD a few days ago. I'm financing, and my non-P AWD was already going to put a major dent in my budget. Initially I didn't even seriously consider adding FSD, as even when it becomes a proven technology I don't expect my jurisdiction (British Columbia, Canada)...
+1. We bought a Dodge Grand Caravan when my second daughter was born, and even though we're only a family of four I don't think we could plausibly give up the flexibility of a 7 passenger minivan with storage for longer trips. Between our double stroller and luggage, I'm not even sure we'd make...
I originally ordered a blue on June 27th (when estimated delivery was Aug-Nov) but then saw some Facebook photos people had taken and thought it was way too light and bright. Changed to Obsidian Black on July 11th, which pushed back my delivery to September-December. Then everyone got bumped up...
