Big Bear - where to charge?

Am on a trip right now in Big Bear from SD with a '13 P85S (so don't have hundreds of extra miles of range) and the Remax charger took the sting out of the range anxiety. They're saints as there's actually a lot to do around there. ICE-ing indeed though - half the chargers were blocked by...

    Are there some Tesla's you can't drive without a key? ('13 P85)

Internet is definitely working. Booking a mobile appt.

    Are there some Tesla's you can't drive without a key? ('13 P85)

I have a 2013 P85 Model S and my wife took every set of keys with her in the house to work with her for some reason. Was hoping to drive the car without the key as I read you can, but no dice. Could not get the door handles to present. The app shows lock/unlock. Lock flashes the lights, unlock...

    eMMC recall reimbursement

I thought I'd post here because there seems to be no way I can find to reach out to a live person at Tesla about it. The 800# (888#) just runs you around through "self service options" with no way to speak with anyone. I have received many NHTSA recall notices at Tesla at this point on my '13...

Bubbles on '13 P85 Instrument Cluster

This kind of sucks...a couple bubbles appeared a couple weeks ago on my instrument cluster - these are physical and not graphical. Tesla says the only fix is to replace the entire instrument cluster - $1200 or something (though I could upgrade my MCU to the latest version apparently for like...

    Drive Unit Replacement

I took my 2013 P85 which I bought preowned a couple years ago and is about 1500 miles from 100k in for the "recall" I got a letter for (that Tesla isn't doing most of the time) and my wife mentioned she heard a clunk in reverse lately (she's commuting and I'm not during the pandemic). They...

    TuneIn Radio “Loading Error”

93.5 KDAY on Tune In hasn't worked for months after working fine for a long time. Is this worth reporting to Tesla?

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I’m so confused by this issue. I seem to have a car that could be affected by this but have no idea how to check. My car is actually coincidentally at a Service Center - should I ask them to check something?

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I'm sorry to ask a dumb question - I have a '13 P85 that I'd like to check for this - is the only way to do so to max charge the battery?

What does Dog Mode entail that it needs AP2? Very disappointed

As a big dog lover and a '13 P85 owner I'm disappointed that it seems like Dog Mode won't be rolled out to non-AP cars. Why? We have the ability to persist climate - how hard would it be to show the dog message onscreen even if you don't have all the AP cameras? What in Dog Mode requires AP...

    Power Folding Mirror Retrofit Qustion

Congrats! For whatever reason there seems to be less DIY spirit on these cars among owners than I've experienced in the past - so props to your ingenuity. Only wish there were photos / DIY on how to do it myself! Or even Evannex or some 3rd party offering this...

Warranty expiring - List of typical failures

Is the MCU one of those things that just dies every few years or if you had it replaced under warranty are you generally good?

    Power Folding Mirror Retrofit Qustion

Unsure if threads bump here - but this seemed to be the most recent thread on this topic. I asked Tesla about this for my own '13 P85 and while I'd never be up for the $3,200 I read some owners were quoted - I have a -very- tight garage and realized how convenient the folding mirrors are when I...

Warranty expiring - List of typical failures

Thread watched. I have essentially the same vehicle ('13 P85) purchased ~8 months ago CPO - now approaching 80k mi so will be under warranty a little while longer. I intentionally avoided the pano roof so can't help there. The included warranty has already covered a lot at no cost: - MCU...

Sound issues when doing sharp turns

Old thread - my '13 P85 is doing this. When the wheel is turned all the way to the right (e.g., when pulling into a tight parking space) I'll sometimes get a scary knock. It's on my list to discuss in my upcoming service visit - what's described here (failure to recreate) is my biggest worry.

    V9 and TuneIn Favorites

Ditto. My Tune In favorites haven't worked since the big UX layout change. Favorite-ing things in the car didn't help. It's annoying because it used to work really well. It's on my list when I take my P85 for service 2/1 - will see what they say.

Ideal Aftermarket Audio System for Model S

This is a large thread and when I have time I'd like to comb through it all - but but is there a viable alternative to the NVX kit? It seems like they stopped making it and I think I'd be fine with that upgrade alone. Help appreciated!

    Sagging fabric on interior B-Pillar

Subject pretty much says it - both driver and passenger side of my '13 P85 have this going on. Anyone have the same and attempt to repair/replace it? Thanks!

    Interior Door Handles Peeling.. :(

Old thread - but this is one of the first things I noticed in the 2013 I just bought. Guess this was left without a solution. With it being an area no one will really ever see, it feels like maybe I could wetsand the coating off with very fine auto sandpaper in all 4 doors and leave it at that...

Is there UV protection on all Tesla S windshields?

Interesting. I'll try the water trick. Will have to read if this eliminates *all* radar detectors, or merely makes the one I currently own useless..

Is there UV protection on all Tesla S windshields?

Hi - I recently picked up a 2013 P85 and am trying to figure out if it does or doesn't have the UV protection. I'm asking because 1) some posts suggest there could be some S models without it and 2) I'm looking to hardwire a radar detector - which apparently won't work if the windshield has...

    Let's talk financing rates

Cool - glad that worked out for you. Maybe it's not intentional. The internal policy was clear (rates varied as the years of the vehicle increased and the length of the loan) but the website doesn't quite make that clear. They sent me a PDF of the grid across years and percentages and compared...

    Let's talk financing rates

Again don't mean to spam this thread - but some of the information here even with a top-tier credit score I didn't find accurate for my situation - looking to finance a CPO vehicle older than 2016 on a preferably longer term. For 72 months - California Credit Union / North County Credit Union...

    Let's talk financing rates

Just to add to this as I wasn't successful editing - What the rep there said was "The rates on the website are very general and the specific underwriting guidelines take into consideration other items such as the year of the vehicle as well." One thing to mention is I am working on a CPO...

    Let's talk financing rates

I never quite understand this advice. You can pay any amount you want over what's required and if the interest increase is nominal to nonexistent the longer term just gives more flexibility on what you *have* to pay. I understand the point if you only plan to pay the minimum, though...

    Let's talk financing rates

I contacted them and at that won't be the rate - the website isn't accurate. It's 3.15% for autopay at 72 months for 840+ credit and 82 months is some amount higher (can ask what the reality is but can confirm 3.15% for 72 months).

Closing in on a 2013 P85 ... excited but nervous

I've dreamed of owning a Tesla ever since they came out. I have Tesla Solar on my house. I am frankly one of those "fans" of the company. I have a 2013 P85, 21" wheels, tech package, gray - I've placed a $1,000 deposit on through Tesla. I love the price, the package, the color. I would have...
