Isn’t the whole point of Tesla insurance that they are in the unique position of owning both the car and the insurance policy? It would cost them nothing to turn on FSD on a replaced vehicle where as third party insurance couldn’t do it without covering the cost of the software feature again...

Was this during the last sale or something? Or more recently? I’m in a similar spot where I have EAP, and I want HW 3.0 so that I get all the updates, but I’m looking at another $5k which seems a tad unfair.

I am financing mine, I was able to call an agent and have them add my financing organization as the loss payee. The agent was also able to send the updated documents to whoever I needed it go to.

I switched yesterday, mine went from about 300/ mo with MetLife to 118/ mo with Tesla.

I posted a thread about this already, but yes, depending on where I park in the garage at work I get false alarms from loud motorcycles driving by me.

I posted a similar question because I was going on a hike in an area with out cell service, but nobody seemed to know the answer. That said, if you get the notification and open the app, it will stop the alarm, at least I think. I’ve had it go off twice do to motorcycles and both times the alarm...

...and no one is around to hear it. I’m going hiking in a state park today and there most likely won’t be any cell coverage. What happens if I enable Sentry Mode, the alarm is triggered but I can’t get the notification? Will my car just blast Bach until I return from my hike? Or is there some...

I’ve been using the Wireless Connect Stick from San Disk, other than the fact that you have to turn it on manually and then wait for you car to lock/sleep before the USB powers off and you can access the data, it’s been working pretty well. Makes it easy to wipe it from my phone after a long day...

UPDATE: After reviewing the footage, it appears that a loud motorcycle driving by set it off. I wish we got audio so I could know for sure, but nothing else happened near my car before the alarm triggered.

I guess that’s fair, I’ll check tonight and update with my findings. Although, my car is currently parked under my work in a row of other 3s, so the likeliness that someone was banging on my windows seems fairly low.

Not that I’m aware of, unless opening the app stopped it before I got there. All my windows were still there, but I haven’t had time to review the footage yet.

I just got a notification on my phone that “Sentry mode has triggered the alarm state” but my car was completely fine. This is somewhat concerning because it dilutes the sense of security. Although I suppose false positives are better than false negatives. Has anyone else experienced this?

I hope that they expose Sentry mode via the API so I can tell Siri to activate it like Iron Man does with Jarvis.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but tracking your car (going around a circuit) is a completely different story than drag racing (down a strip). I think you guys are talking about different things, and thus different setups.

You actually only need Siri/Shortcuts. You can use the API directly, take a look at or download these ones to get an idea: Tesla Shortcuts I pretty much just pieced together various things from here to accomplish my goal

I always turn off WiFi before opening the Tesla app, and it seems to wake up and be summon ready almost immediately, as compared to if I keep WiFi on it is pretty unreliable.

I’m fairly certain this functionality has been in there for quite some time actually.

Yeah I had that issue, and I took it into the service center and they fixed all my rattles. I recommend you do the same. Just make sure you secure a Tesla loaner before you drop yours off ;)
