    Unstable on 2019.12.1.2

oh wow, thanks for the update! will definitely stop by my service center if problem persists after removing the USB drive for the dashcam; drove an hour today and no problem so far, but will report after a few more hours

    Unstable on 2019.12.1.2

Calm down dude, no need to be so defensive; just asking around how prevalent the problem is to know whether it was a software issue or possibly a hardware malfunction that needs serviced. You folks need to wait a few years to come on these forums if you can’t handle simple questions without...

I thought about that last night and unplugged it, haven't driven since but will report. Is that a wild guess or are there some known issues around this?

    Unstable on 2019.12.1.2

Since 2019.12.1.1, the software has been extremely unstable for me, it hasn't improved on 2019.12.1.2 I drive about 3 hours a day, and there isn't a day lately where the screen freezes, or wrong information starts to show (would show car is parked when I am driving 60mph); music freezes, lag on...

How are people applying enough force in NOA steering?

I don't think the actual force you need to apply in NOA is different than regular autopilot, but it does appear this way at first; I believe as a result of the nag showing if it hasn't detected force in the last couple of seconds, rather than the last 20-30 seconds. I would think that if you...

Tesla Model 3 Door Handle Stickers For Rideshare

Waze carpool never gave me any ride in my area. Uber and Lyft lets you use a destination mode (limited to 2 times per day on Uber, 6 times per day on Lyft), so you can effectively use it on your way to and from work, and not get rides in the opposite direction.

Tesla Model 3 Door Handle Stickers For Rideshare

The question wasn't for me, but since I ran those numbers, thought maybe I could help. Full time ride sharing in any car is tough, not very profitable, and I wouldn't recommend it. If you truly "ride share" though (pick up people on the way to/from work), the added mileage is minimal, and...

Tesla Model 3 Door Handle Stickers For Rideshare

That sucks; but as I was saying in my post, if you're doing Uber or Lyft, you've got a routine to onboard/deboard passengers, and simply telling them as you're approaching full stop about how to open the door, as part of your goodbye routine, is simple and reliable enough, not to have to use...

Tesla Model 3 Door Handle Stickers For Rideshare

Regarding the inside handle, it just becomes part of the routine to tell people as you arrive at destination, to open the door by pressing the button on top of the handle as they're pushing the door out; Gave 200+ rides with Uber in this car so far, and I have yet to see somebody use the...

Tesla Model 3 Door Handle Stickers For Rideshare

I do rideshare. In my case, I am tall enough that I can reach the opposite back passenger door easily, so I usually open the door before they have a chance to figure it out. This also greatly reduces the chances for scratches from rings, etc. and palm/finger prints on the door; it gets nasty...

Anyone else notice degraded Lane Change functionality with 2019.8.5?

Had a long drive this morning, first half of the drive NOA did pretty good, changing lanes to the left and the right. Then I tapped to cancel a lane change to the right and that got the autopilot to go completely wonky for the rest of the drive, car initiated a violent lane change to the right...

No-confirmation NOAP is here for the masses!

    - So in prior releases, or with the option OFF, you get warned on the screen about lane change, and confirm with the stalk; hands off the wheel if you want - With this new option, you get warned on the screen and you confirm by nudging the wheel Isn't it effectively just changing the...

No-confirmation NOAP is here for the masses!

Are you saying that every single lane change has to be confirmed with a torque on the wheel, or the message only comes if it hasn't detected your hands in a while? If you do need to put some torque on the wheel for every lane change, isn't this change then effectively just a switch from...

FSD, would like that $1K back please

Those are VERY different situations and the reason for my original post in the first place. See, if I were to buy the car today vs when I bought it last July, I would have saved $6k. But so is true for a bunch of products over my house, prices just fluctuate, and despite what a lot of people...

FSD, would like that $1K back please

Great, since it happens all the time, give me one, just one example of such software that was once available for pre-order, had its price change during pre-order window with no refund to people in the queue. Let's even assume you misspoke and didn't mean software, gimme one example of any...

FSD, would like that $1K back please

This will be my attempt at explaining why those of us that paid 3k for FSD months ago expect a $1K refund. First the facts: - I paid for my car in July last year, paid $5k for EAP, additional $3k for FSD - At time of purchase, FSD was presented as $3k now, $4k if purchased later - Elon had...

    Autopilot/NOA quick tip

Quick tip for those that may not be aware: all actions shown on screen can be addressed by tapping(or whatever term is used to indicate a halfway press) the right...

    2018.42.x acceleration

is it me or the acceleration in 2018.42.x (RWD) is significantly more aggressive in 2018.42.x ? I am not flooring it every day, so hard to compare from one version to the next, but for sure I don’t remember it sending you back in the seat the way it does now

Model 3 seats are horrible compromise decision

Interesting to see so many people loving the seat on this thread. I started a thread not too long ago where most people there didn't like the seat. Seat (dis)comfort after 5,000 miles I actually found the seat ok at first, but after 5,000 miles, it has become a major problem, and I am looking...

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

Where are those reports? I thought I was reading quite a bit about v9, but haven't seen many complaints on local road; if anything I keep reading (and experienced myself last night) the better experience on local roads since auto lane changes now works. I am curious to read more about this.

    Seat (dis)comfort after 5,000 miles

yeah the back portion of the bottom side is precisely where I get the most discomfort; I had adjusted the seat as you describe a month ago or so, but that's not working for me anymore, was planning on trying other setting and see if that helps; but I am a bit pessimistic as I think the foam just...

    Seat (dis)comfort after 5,000 miles

nope, clearly stated in the first post that car was built in June; and again, comfort when new was awesome, and still is on lightly used passenger seat problem is around how quickly it deteriorates

    Seat (dis)comfort after 5,000 miles

I really loved the seats of the model 3 when I got it (June built), and if I seat on the passenger seat, I still love the feel. But I find the padding on the driver seat broke in a little too much after 5,000 miles (I am ~240lbs), and I find it quite hard on the butt these days, similar to a low...

iPhone XS (Max) as a key

Upgraded from an iPhone X to an iPhone XS Max. (both on iOS 12) In 2 months of ownership of the Model 3, the iPhone as a key has worked flawlessly, failed one time maybe. Have had the iPhone XS Max for 5 days, and it has "failed" dozens of time now; most often, I just need to wake up the phone...

Will AP 2 ever be “Upgraded” to AP 1.0?

The last tweet from Elon on that topic was that the first FSD features would come at same time as the chip upgrade, i.e. not until 6 months from now at the earliest.

Rattling noise from seat belt tensioner

Your preferred method of washing your model 3?

Just replace the water spray bottle with a waterless wash spray bottle, you'll greatly reduce risks of scratches vs just water, and car will be shiny, should not take much longer than what you do now

Road noise - Tire inflation experiment

I am bothered by road noise, I have seen here that some people have had success with lowering tire pressure. Mine were set at 45 psi. I did a quick experiment, using an iPhone decibel meter app, with iPhone placed on charging pad. I did the same stretch of road at 50mph, on autopilot, with tire...

Your preferred method of washing your model 3?

Yes, but do not recommend. If you do use them, wash them once before use not get lint all over. The main problem for me is the labels they have on those towels, on the "fluffy" side to make it worse.

Two weeks of ownership - few thoughts

precisely what I don't want to do, having had a car previously where you don't need to micromanage the A/C, I'd just like a similar experience I am somewhat hopeful that it's a problem for many, and therefore could be improved with software update (if it's a matter of adjusting the duration of...

Two weeks of ownership - few thoughts

Yep fully aware of that; if hat wasn’t clear, I meant to say that EAP isn’t as advanced as I had hoped, it looked flawless on the freeway from most reviews but it’s not quite there. Therefore, FSD, is far from becoming a reality. Sure, they will release things under the FSD package in a month or...

    Phone calls/Podcasts sound quality

I find the quality of voice audio to be a bit underwhelming; phone calls sound a bit muffled, podcasts also seem to lack immersion; I also find myself doing a lot of volume adjustments during these. Any audio settings y'all have been using to get a good experience with such audio content?
