I think I said the same thing in the first post lol :p But I agree. It’s pretty simple. Especially if OP had the know how it apply a coating in the first place.

If you want to be safe polish those areas to remove the coating. Then clean with something like Gyeon Prep or IPA. After install you can just recoat any areas that remain exposed.
