I broke down and bought the Chademo adapter pretty much to charge in Waterloo in the Winter. Had it about 6 months and it has saved me hours of time charging or driving out of the way to Dows supercharger. No regrets on the purchase until CCS adapter is available.
Yes, Peoria is needed. The Normal, IL charger is a pain in the parking ramp. I think a Mt Pleasant, IA would really make sense as well to get the Ave of the Saints completed. It would also allow the shortcut to Des Moines from St Louis.
I haven't heard about a second MidAmerican charger in Waterloo. I'll have to go and and see if I can dig it up. The Chademo they installed at the Singlespeed brewery (DT Waterloo) works great.
Looks like the Waterloo IA charger is going at the Hyvee near the mall near the intersection of US20 and US218/I380

This will definitely help. It is amazing how fast the usage of the chargers has increased in the last 18 months. With the new gigafactory in China more capacity will be available in North America, we're likely to see a lot of new Teslas in 2020.
This is a real issue, You can't trust there will be a working spot at the airport. I reached out to a couple of the off-site airport park and rides but didn't get anything back from any of them. I'd switch as soon as someone offered something!
I think they're shifting back to work on the weekend congestion issues in the Twin Cities. Robinsdale and Oakdale are backing up on the evenings and weekends.
Drove by yesterday (7/26/2019) and they were pulling the cables out to the stations. Looked like they were about half way through. The area is served by an electric cooperative so once they are ready it should turn up pretty quickly.
The big deal here is it opens up the direct path between Minneapolis and Omaha in the winter (US169/MN60/IA60/US75/I29). The smaller battery traffic is getting routed via Des Moines adding distance and a charging stop or 2.
Albert Lea 2 is definitely under construction. You can see the conduit coming out of the ground. Crew appears to be making pretty quick work of the installation @BlueShift
It's a good spot, I charge in Albert Lea a couple times a week. I'm kinda surprised that #2 in Albert Lea went before a #2 in the Twin Cities. I've only run into congestion in Albert Lea once although it might be the most unreliable location in MN.
Have you seen a sample layout for a SC that...
