Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I'd pay even more. As it stands, the lack of stalks/wheel might be enough to force my hand into buying a new car entirely (my wife can't tolerate the yoke), so $1k to fix it would still likely be economical for my situation.
Agreed -- but the problem is, it doesn't work. See this thread for how ineffective third row cooling is on the 7-seater: Model X Plaid Third Row Climate
I did! They took a look at it and everything. Result: "in spec, try turning the fans all the way up and putting on recirc." Um, yeah, we tried that, and it's basically useless...
Did you mean to type "WC in Tesla app not showing"? Or you're saying you actually do see the option in the app to add it? (I'm in the US and on the latest of everything, and don't see the option yet.)
See if you can try calling/messaging and mention it as a safety issue for people seated in the rear seats (if yours is doing what ours was, it sliding back and forth while driving could definitely hurt someone.) That's what got them to give me quicker attention at our local SC.
Yes, this happened to us just the other day -- I ran it by the service center and they were able to temporarily get it to lock back into the normal position, but have an appointment to get it more fully repaired in a week. A little discouraged that you're seeing it too...
I'm selling our family Model S because our five kids have outgrown it, but this is the most fantastic car we’ve ever owned and I'm honestly going to be a little sad to see it go. It's in good shape with no mechanical issues, and has been rock-solid for us through almost 100,000 miles.
Some...
FWIW, I got mine delivered ~24 hours after getting a VIN, but it was not a reject (SA confirmed, very new VIN, 8 miles on the odometer). Build quality / panel gaps / door alignment are all great. One big variable is that I'm in North San Diego county, so (less than) a single day's trip by truck...
Just picked ours up and found the same thing — almost feels like the third row vents are just for aesthetics! Has anyone figured out a workaround or learned anything more about this?
June 09 - June 25. Interestingly, the start date of that range seems to keep creeping back by a few days every few days, but the end date of the range has moved earlier by a day or two over the last week or so. Fingers crossed to still be a part of the EOQ rush...
Curious what others have seen here: my EDD is June 6 (today) - June 26, but no VIN yet. For those of you that went from a ~3 week EDD range down to a shorter window (and/or got your VIN), did that happen near the beginning of your EDD window prior to the change, in the middle, or near the end...
Have not received my VIN yet, window is now June 6 - June 26. What's really interesting is that two days ago my trade-in (which was pending) magically just removed itself from my order without my having done anything at all. Going to just leave it alone at this point and sell it to a third party...
Has anyone here removed a trade-in from their order and seen it affect their EDD? I'm contemplating removing mine and selling private party, but only if it wouldn't affect my current EDD (6/3-6/24)...
Interesting update: overnight my date range went from "May 30-June 20" to "May 28-June 18". So it moved earlier by two days (5/28 is two days from now!), but still no VIN. Scared I'll refresh one of these days and be in the "Dec-Apr '23" crew...
Piggy-backing on what EGK1 says: I had a service advisor tell me three days ago that they're still hassling with the City of Carlsbad to get their new North County service center approved. That's about all the info I could get out of her, but she was very specific about it being Carlsbad...
Just checked desktop version of Tesla.com - I do NOT have it listed anymore as an option either. I know for a fact that I used to. March 2018 build, Model S 75D with EAP (new MCU).
We purchased the OEM rear window shade from Tesla's website, and that has made a nice difference for the temp back there - they claim it blocks something like 60% of thermal load, and my little guys report it helping a lot.
Has anyone with a new MCU (Model S/X) received firmware 2018.12 yet? Wondering if this is another release in the 2018.10.4 "branch" that won't be coming to the newest cars, as I'm not seeing it yet on my MS 75D with new MCU.
