Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
If my phone is in my back pocket, it sometimes won't work. I have to turn about 90 degrees and it will work. I have to say despite it not working every now and then, I love it. I no longer carry any keys with me.
I have a question as to how the door unlocks. I prefer to push the unlock button on the door which should have the window do down, the lock unlatch and the door slightly (1/4 inch) open. I then gather my stuff with both hands full and use my elbow to push open the door. This is how the passenger...
What does anyone recommend to do to just get off the dirt without washing. I'd like to just quickly get off the dust without a full wash. Yesterday a bird placed a perfect shot on my windshield. My wife cleaned the windshield without telling me!
I sure wish I registered before I picked up my car. My car didn’t come with either cable so I had to call the delivery specialist and they say they’ll send it to me. I asked for two lightning cables and wasn’t clear if they would be able to do or not. I’ll see what shows up in the mail.
I received delivery of my car yesterday. Apparently they just started paying Tesla by ACH a few weeks ago so checks were done. I don't think they actually verify if money is received. After we signed the paperwork, they came out to ask for the email that showed payment. They forwarded it so I...
Why would you mail it to the address on page 2 when page 5 is entitled Payment Instructions. Perhaps there are different MVPA based on payment method or location. I am financing and delivery is Fremont.
Did you get an email from Tesla saying "we received the money." Or did you just show up and not worry. Also, what was the time between signing the loan papers and your delivery? I have one day.
I got the call yesterday for delivery scheduled on Tuesday. I got the contract to Tech CU and they called late on Friday. They said they would get me the loan to sign on Monday. I explained (they didn't seem to grasp) I had to pay Monday as I was picking up Tuesday. They said as long as it is...
I was thinking about this but given how they do everything through the account, I wouldn't really need to talk to my ISA. The VIN showed up. Next was deciding delivery date (I did that because she called me in response to my email). Then I got the MVPA. Signed and sent back. Next was a canned...
But these companies had years to develope their dealer networks. Tesla won't let their delivery centers sit idle with nothing to do and find a place to store these cars.
They called me today. Original delivery schedule was for Thursday due to trade-in. They moved it up to Tuesday when I said no trade-in. I got my MVPA within one hour. So yes there are not providing much notice for those of us on the West Coast.
I have a question about the delivery itself. What are the steps. My wife will drop me off and she has head back to work pretty quickly. We both have to sign as we are both on the title. I would assume it would be inspect car, sign documents, and then get overview of car. Drive off! Is that...
I am sure they are doing that. Why spend time on a car delivered in three weeks when they have cars being delivered in a few days. I got my VIN a few days ago and no ISA contact. I get delivery on Tuesday. She had to get my sale done so I would be patient.
I changed from cash to financing. I called a few weeks ago to tell them and they said they would not it for the ISA. I got me VIN a few days ago and today they made the change on my account. It had the loan amount and the rest that I had to pay which I did today. It may take longer if you will...
They probably got sick of all the complaints about how long it takes to get a VIN and delivery! Everyone expects to be the outlier who gets the VIN in two weeks. One theory is that the first round of invites was needed early to make sure they had the right mix of products. Now that they have...
Sorry to say but why do you expect a car already. There are many people who configured earlier with no VIN. I got mine today and I configured 3/1. There are people who configured in February (same config.) with no VIN. I think it has to do with the delivery center AND which ISA you get.
This is like Disneyland. You are on the outside of the ride and just want to get "inside". Then once inside (you configure) you have a shorer but more painful wait (for your VIN) as you are getting closer. Then you see the ride which is so close but the line is moving so slowly...Almost better...
Got a question about next steps now that I got my VIN. It is probably in some earlier posts but can't seem to find it. What are the next steps? I think some people say that documents show up that you sign and return before even getting a call from your ISA. Since my delivery is Fremont, the...
To answer the question posed: No!
I checked late last night and no VIN. This morning around 7:30, my VIN finally showed up. I will cross post to the VIN the assignment thread. I will update the spreadsheet if it ever loads. That wait seems to take just as long.
Config : 3/1
VIN : 4/4
Black...
I checked late last night and no VIN. This morning around 7:30am, my VIN finally showed up. I will cross post to the CA Vin thread. I will update the spreadsheet if it ever loads. That wait seems to take just as long these days.
Config : 3/1
VIN : 4/4
Black, 18", nothing else (cheapo version)...
You are right. I have been reading quotes from the Tesla "statement" and finally found the actual document. Here is the letter Tesla sent to the SEC. I' like to know their inventory at quarter end as well.
It would only matter if there was a delay in financing for a specific person but they would not know that. I put down I would pay cash then decided to finance it. My reservation still shows cash and I am past 4 weeks with no VIN. It didn't help me to "show" cash. There are plenty of discussions...
I think LV Acrobat (guess the means this person is in a show in Las Vegas) was doing this and created a separate thread. But then they got their VIN so maybe they stopped updating it...
Great news for you (I have to do a double take when I see your name). Not sure why with so many earlier configurations still waiting for black that those with later dates get cars. I hope I get mine (config 3/1 exactly 4 weeks ago) SOON but would feel guilty if those from 2/15 still don't have...
It's been all over the place. Some get calls right away. Others not for a few days. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. If you are in FL, there is less issue since you car has to travel across the country. Plenty of time to do everything while in transit.
Look at the spreadsheet...colors are most important but there are MANY black (my color so that is what I check) who configured in February with no VIN yet. They said 3-6 weeks. You are only two weeks in. I configured 3/1 and still no VIN. You might get lucky but yeah later April would be more...
Who knows what is good or bad news. I have given up hope that I will get a late VIN/delivery within this month. I am sure Fremont delivery center is full. They should start to send all cars East again. That is the bad news. However, why did they send tons of invites out unless they have a lot of...
I was in Palo Alto probably 75th in line. Reserved around 30 minutes after they opened the doors (don't remember what time that was.) Got an invite in the first batch on 2/22. Seems like the combination of black and Fremont means a much longer wait. I configured 3/1 and still no VIN. There are...
As much as we want our cars, I am sure they are under tremendous pressure to get the sales done quickly.
I emailed to ask for a tour. She knew I had a RN from my email and said I could do the tour. I thought that was cool. I think it is the name was Jaime as well. I guess there is probably one...
It doesn't say estimated delivery anywhere. That disappears once you configure. Don't think that suddenly someone looked at your configuration and updated it with any real information. Read all the VIN threads and you'll see no one knows much. Except that 3-6 seems about right. I selected cash...
People complain they don't get information. Then they complain when it changes. They have to adjust as they go. Anyone who didn't think their plans were overall ambitious is naive. Every article about Tesla makes this point. I'd rather have a company trying to do the right thing and not always...
I called about one week ago to change my profile. Was told the owner advise "Chris" would call to allow me to make changes. Still no VIN and no call. My guess is you get assigned to an owner advisor early. They won't call or communicate unless they have to. They probably work a bit differently...
I'll second the motion. I was expecting a big run of black (I have 30 heard of me on the list) so just seeing a few was disappointing. My hope is there can sneak another one before endo of the quarter. Sure sucks for LV Acrobat though given the loan timing.
Good for you. Many years ago my son had a classmate in kindergarten whose dad was in the business of shipping cargo to Hawaii. They sent cars as well. The same company did the prep for new cars coming from Asia. I would bet that is the same company they use to move the cars to Hawaii. We got to...
I selected cash but now will finance. I called to tell them and they said my owner advisor would call me and enable me to edit as that is the only person who can make changes. Still no call. I think they know early enough that financing won't be a big deal. BUT it could happen on the last day or...
I don't have a VIN but I do have an "owner advisor" assigned. I think here everyone says ISA but Tesla calls them "owner advisor". I needed to change something on my payment and was told only the owner advisor can do that. The person I spoke to mentioned my owner advisor by name specifically so...
