Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Hi Jason
Had the same issue on my 2018 MX last July/August and the SC just replaced a rear tire that had uneven wear. Issue is now back again in June 2023. Did your SC just replace your tires or was there a more permanent fix? They can't be asking us to replace tires every 10 months. I must...
In Atlanta. Just gave my MX June 2018 for service for a water leak issue when FWD opens in heavy rain.
I was told that they'll also upgrade my hardware to the FSD computer today!!
Apparently, it was a pending work order that showed in their system when they pulled up my vehicle.
I have a 2018 MX, bought it with enhanced autopilot and got sucked into FSD at $2K when the "discounted sale" was on.
Is there anything I've gained in V10 based on FSD vs Enhanced Autopilot?
This happened to me 2 weeks ago. I live in GA, USA but an appointment was scheduled for me in WA, USA.
Hopefully it's some weird bug but I changed my password immediately and then cancelled my appointment.
Are you sure that this happens only on AP and not when on TACC? Seen a few others mention this but haven't tested it myself. Let me consciously keep it on TACC and see if it never happens. Will at least be able to narrow it down to something.
You are right about the brake pedal pulsating. You can notice that in the video I posted in the first post on this thread.
If you're sure that it is the ABS, does it damage the vehicle in anyway by engaging frequently when in autopilot?
Also, I changed my follow distance from 2 to 4. That seems...
This is exactly what I assumed was happening and just let it go. It has been happening on mine right from the beginning. I tried changing the follow distance (increased to 4, decreased to 1) but it still keeps happening.
If this is normal then why does it not happen on cars? That's what bothers...
I tried that. Don't hear the sound when I brake hard. The SC guy said that there is a play between the autopilot hardware and the brake and that's why you hear a thud when it brakes hard. He could be right but sometimes these guys just want to avoid as many repairs as possible and that's why I...
I've had my Model X for a year now and I absolutely love it. I've had one concern from the beginning but haven't asked about it before in the forums.
Anytime autopilot brakes hard, I hear a loud thud or a shudder if you will. Is this normal? Does this happen with all the cars when autopilot...
Is this "thud" noise normal when autopilot brakes suddenly? I have this in my Model X and want to know if everyone experiences it.
How can I upload a video here?
People have been asking for a top view for years. Agreed that there are no cameras under the side rear view mirror and under the front nose like other cars but with 8 cameras I am sure some sort of an around view is possible. It will be great to have it.
2019.8.5 - charge port doesn't open again with the wand. Have to do a steering wheel reset and see if that helps.
And Tesla needs to fix the crappy video on the left and right repeaters.
After the software update, today my charge port will not open when I press the button on the Tesla charging cable. Anyone else with the same issue?
Another issue was a garbled rear view video. Had to restart MCU to fix this.
Another issue - passenger side front repeater cam saving 0 byte...
No. It saves clips only when it senses motion.
Of course, you have to enable sentry mode each time you get out of the car. You can also enable it from the app.
My bad .I shouldn't have said "puppy mode" .I was referring to the enhanced summon mode in which according to Elon's tweet, the car will follow and find you like a puppy.
Getting videos from the front, left and right cameras. Looks good based on initial testing. I tried to "break-in" by pressing the door handle and hitting the car a few times with my elbow but neither triggered the loud music. Perhaps, I did not use enough force.
Not sure how much battery drain...
Need to talk to Tesla support to see if they can apply the $500 credit towards the $2000 FSD upgrade cost.
Knowing that it would cost either $5000 or $7000 from next week makes me want to pull the trigger now.
Good news for those in the Atlanta OTP North. For a while, the Tesla supercharger map has been showing that a supercharger is going to open in Buford and I think it was opened 2 days ago. The map still does not show it as open.
Location - right across Costco in Mall of GA, in the Michael's...
Absolutely. I'd say, schedule it right away and note down the time when this happened. The time helps them pull the logs for a specific window and confirm if the sensors are faulty.
Yes but for summon to work, you would have to line the vehicle coreectly, parallel to the garage walls. Remember that for now summon is just straight forward or reverse.
Have you already tried the "always fully open at this location" option?
Reversing into the garage will fix your issue. Based on your pictures, the ultrasonic sensor on the roof of the MX is what is picking up the garage door motor and preventing the doors from opening further.
I did not expect they would do that TBH.
I thought it was worth a shot, if they say No, I just fix it myself.
I am just glad that they agreed to fix it because of faulty sensors and because my MX is well within the warranty period (4 months old).
If you’re in the Atlanta area and are looking to get the 6 seater MX all weather floor mats, PM me.
I have an extra mat (the 2nd n 3rd row mat) that I am looking to give to someone.
UPDATE: Tesla service told me that the capacitive sensors in the doors malfunctioned and that they would be replacing those (I know...weird that sensors on both doors decided to malfunction at the same time).
Tesla went one step further and is taking care of my drywall repair too! Kudos to the...
Yes, but I've always parked at an angle and never had an issue before.
In fact, a couple of days after this incident, the FWDs started working fine...as in they started sensing the obstacles. My MX is with Tesla SC now.
Will post an update here once I get it back.
True that the drywall repair is inexpensive. I am just irritated that I have to repair the drywall due to a bug in the car and repaint that section .
Anyways, about the car - no damage as far as I can tell .the bottom plastic part of the FWD is what tore through the drywall and it looks...
