Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Not sure if it would work on these air springs or not but on my old Mercedes it had only 2 pins on the connector - applying 12 volts would open the valve and depressurize.
My Camera Surveilance system at home stoped sending push notifications and a few days later they sent a server side update titled - "Apple push notification update". Maybe Apple changed something related to how they process push notifications....
Interesting theory - one of our S's has 19s the other has 21s - the car with 19s is much much worse. - maybe I will swap and see what happens.
SC has ordered "77" struts and steering racks for both cars.
Was at the SC today cause my air suspension failed and the car was on the ground - I asked why they can't just order the assembly under the seat - I was told it is not possible and they have to order a seat that comes with said assembly.
This was an issue for me in the beginning - I'm 6-3 240. I tilted the front of the seat up and deflated the lumbar. That seemed to push me far back enough in the seat to not feel the bar. I have had the car for almost a year and so far it ok but not perfect.
Im not sure it sends a route - I think it sends the destination. Sometimes while sitting in my office I use google to find a location - at that point I can just send to car rather than find it when i get in my car. Not that big of a deal just a small convenience.
I switch between 19 inch slip streams and 21 inch turbines often and after about 5 mins of driving a message pops up on the screen asking to confirm the new wheels and the option to select the size. Same should happen with yours assuming both sets of TPMS are the same generation.
Part number of my struts that were replaced months ago is 1067361-25-C.
Looks like we have an updated part number.... I suppose I should take our cars back in for the updated parts...
My seats were a bit painful at first but after about 300 miles either I got used to it or the seat softened up. I was nervous about it at first but thankfully I gave it time.
Yeah its back on both cars.
Sounds like it may be what you have - someone posted a video in this thread or another and it picked up the sound perfectly. I will try to find it.
I would take it in for sure - not a waste of time - you should get your spot in line for when the fix does come out.
The Struts appear to be the same part numbers across both cars on both sides. Below is a photo of the label on the strut with what I believe is the part number. I was able to get the photo by setting the suspension on the highest setting and turning the wheel all the way in one direction.

Looks like permits were finally issued against this application on 3/15 - construction must have started - they have underground inspection scheduled for tomorrow 3-28.
Its got to be a parts thing - both our cars are Sep 17 builds - not sure if its true but the service writer at the SC said at some point last year they changed suppliers on the struts. This weekend I will pull of a front wheel on each car and see if the struts have the same P/N. Very odd the...
Well we got our second MS back on Friday - they replaced both front struts with what they called the "revised version". We have put about 80 miles on it since and guess what - the noise is back... its not as bad as it was but give it a couple days and I am sure it will reach that point.
on a...
Same noise both of our cars have - both Sept 17 builds.
I dont really think of it as death - we have a Mercedes GL550 and it has had all the air struts replaced twice - annoying yes but not sure if its death unless an A arm or something breaks at speed. The noises the GL made were very similar...
245 miles my noise still has not come back! I dropped off our second MS today - they previously diagnosed it as "known problem" - today they called and said they would be replacing both front struts with revised ones. I will post when I get it back - hoping for the best.
Build date is on a white sticker - on the bottom of the center pillar.
We have two S's both built 9/17 - one with 19 inch wheels another with 21's neither of which make this noise on full lock. Maybe others can chime in here on their experience.
Couple posts below related to this - most of us have the low speed rattle - some folks have experienced cracked forelinks.
What is the build date of your car?

Its only been a few days but the strut seems to have fixed it - I will post again after a few more miles. I made an appointment for our other MS that has the same noise but much worse - they said they were willing to "throw a strut at that one too". That one is so bad I will know in the first 20...
Same exact thing going on with us - known issue but they are replacing a strut anyway. Car is suppose to be ready tomorrow - crossing my fingers! We have two sept 2017 MS 100D's both with the same issue. If the problem is solved tomorrow I am going right back with our other car for the same fix...

Awesome thanks - seems like every car around here is a Tesla or at least maybe I notice them more often now. I am starting tow see more Model 3's also.
HI - newbie here! I have two 2017 Model S 100D's both built in Sept and both have the same front right suspension rattle. San Diego SC says known problem and they will let me know when a fix is available. One car has 2700 miles which is 1k less than the other and its rattle is way worse. They...
Hi Andrew here! Recently took Delivery of two 2017 Model S 100D's. Both built in September. So far so good! Love these cars and never fully appreciated what they were all about. Already learned so much just reading through posts. Looking forward to contributing to the forum.
