May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

The way this works is the VIN is Base64 encoded into the URL of the Owner's Manual and in the JSON that loads the page. I'm on mobile so I can see there is a VIN assigned, but I can't decode it easily.

May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

Cash has nothing to do with it. There was rumor of this, but all selecting cash did was making your check marks green. There was a bug in the webpage that was fixed a few days ago. Even if you use Tesla financing, Tesla gets paid the full amount immediately. Tesla financing is really just...

May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

based on other posts, I think they are fulfilling mostly East Coast orders due to longer shipping time. So far the configurations have been AWD and Performance w/ Aeros (without the Performance Package). So far its been multi-coat white/red, solid black, and silver metallic. I think May orders...

Rating on 6-50 UMC Gen 2 Adapter is only 30a rated - why?

so you have the C revision of the part? Have you asked Tesla about the discrepancy? The website still says that 6-50 and 14-50 will charge at the same rate.

any new datapoints on this? Has anyone reached out to Tesla about the discrepancy?

Model 3 AWD / Performance - lower UDDS Range!

I agree. We need to see the highway test.

May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

More AWD VINs registered today. I hope May orders should start to see VIN assignments in the 2-3 days. Please update! Model 3 VINs on Twitter Based on how they allocated the late June RWD orders, I think East Coast will get the first ones. Even if they are waiting for EPA certification, I...

May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

I'd like to try and keep this thread on topic for May AWD/performance order checkins, so it is easy to follow. It looks like no one in this thread has received a VIN, or any order/sales contact from Tesla yet. When the prices were reduced, I did receive an email from sales asking if I'd like...

Model 3 AWD / Performance - lower UDDS Range!

I have read elsewhere that Tesla (and most car companies) do their compliance testing with the base wheels for that model. In this case for both the AWD and Performance trims the 18" Aeros are the base wheels. The 19" and the 20" wheels are upgrades.

Model 3 AWD / Performance - lower UDDS Range!

Nice, so the 2018 Model S 75 scored 333.4 miles on the UDDS and the 2018 Model S 75D scored 345.6 miles. The Model S saw an increase in range on the UDDS with Dual motors, but the Model 3 is showing a decrease...

Model 3 AWD / Performance - lower UDDS Range!

fixed the link. The image below shows the UDDS test. We're missing the highway test (HWFET) result. The UDDS and HWFET get combined for the rated range. It is possible that the Model 3 AWD/Performance models are more efficient on the highway test -- we'll have to wait for the EPA docs to be...

Model 3 AWD / Performance - lower UDDS Range!

California ARB just posted their certification for the Model 3 AWD and Performance Models. The listed UDDS is 455.32 miles versus 495.1 miles for the RWD. https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/cert/pcldtmdv/2018/tesla_pc_a3740023_0_z_e.pdf...

    Track rail/truck delivery?

From past experience, it takes at least 2-3 weeks. Keep in mind that after your car left the factory it sits in a rail yard in Richmond, CA before getting loaded.

    Risk of Delaying Delivery

I've read other posts that they will only hold your VIN for up to 7 days. I think the order agreement says that as well.

May AWD/Performance Orders -- VIN / Status Thread

For anyone who ordered in AWD or Performance in May (before the floodgates opened): Did you get a VIN or a call yet? My order date was May 20 for AWD and the estimate given at the time was 12-16 weeks -- which puts the delivery window between Mid-August to Mid-September. I have not made any...

Rating on 6-50 UMC Gen 2 Adapter is only 30a rated - why?

I agree, something doesn't sound right. If the adapter was derated to 30A, then the car shouldn't charge at 32A.

Rating on 6-50 UMC Gen 2 Adapter is only 30a rated - why?

I agree. Something is not right here. I too am planning on using the 6-50 adapter in a similar way.

Rating on 6-50 UMC Gen 2 Adapter is only 30a rated - why?

Oh it is a big difference. If the nameplate rating is 30A on the adapter, then the car should draw a max of 30A. Either the rating is a typo on the adapter, or it didn't pass at 32A -- maybe it got too hot. In which case, the software needs to be updated on the UMC and/or car to allow a max of...

    Let's talk financing rates

FedChoice is impossible to qualify for unless you are a government employee (or contractor). They are very strict and there is no backdoor way in, so I wouldn’t even bother. I tried.

    Service Center - Cherry Hill

any new feedback on this location? Considering taking delivery of Model 3 here. Springfield is also an option for me -- only a little further, but is a traffic disaster.

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

Good point. Its possible it was East Coast only. The most westward I've read is Ohio. Maybe he used a current owner's reservation who is on the East Coast?
  31. A

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

I think all reservation holders who had been invited had access to AWD early Sunday, but no one was able to place an order. They realized the mistake, pulled the options, and redeployed later in the day with the AWD option available to owner-prioritized (maybe?) early reservation holders.

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

Ryan's post implied that he used a friend or relative's reservation who is a current owner.
  33. A

Are you in PA, and have you been able to order yet?

That is probably why. You will get invited in the next batch.
