    Corded (NEMA 14-50) UMC Status

Sorry to hear about that...! Did you ever receive an e-mail from [email protected], with an actual order number and the below subject? Subject: Tesla Shop Order ##### is Confirmed Asking only because my card was charged immediately after I purchased it, but Tesla did not send me a...

    Corded (NEMA 14-50) UMC Status

Ooooff, my bad. I didn’t think I had a reminder for the Mobile Connector, so I was quick to post without scrutiny. Can’t update original post, so thanks for the clarification.

    Corded (NEMA 14-50) UMC Status

Just got a notification that it’s back in stock. I got mine last week, and having 40A at home and a 32A portable charger in the car makes me happy. Mobile Connector Mobile Connector

Get them while you can! I missed the first few times they were in stock, and it feels like I've been waiting a year or two for them to come back in stock...

Supercharger - Kettleman City, CA - Bernard Dr. (LIVE, 56 V3 stalls)

Just curious if anyone has any updates for this new location. Last I heard, it was going to be paved in January, but when I checked via the car's navigation yesterday and today, it said "not in service," which got me a bit concerned, as I was hoping to make use of it in the near future, as it...

Rear Camera Failure. Latest Fix Info? Sleep Length?

Tesla (TSLA) issues recalls on almost half a million Model 3 and Model S vehicles NHTSA writes in the recall notice: Good to know it's being addressed. My local Service Center was able to get me in and out in a day for my rear camera harness, but it would've been 10x more convenient for me if...

Rear Camera Failure. Latest Fix Info? Sleep Length?

Was able to be seen at the local SC. They must be pretty busy, as the lead time for appointments is 20+ days. In any event, my "backup camera screen going dark (and staying dark until sleep)" issue turned out to be a fix via wiring + wiring harness replacement. They didn't go into a ton of...

    Corded (NEMA 14-50) UMC Status

The L14-50 Wall Connector made a brief appearance in 2019, and now the L14-50 Corded Mobile Connector is proving to be difficult to obtain in 2021. Either Tesla doesn't like chargers that support L14-50, or they simply underestimated demand for this charger. I suppose I could attach a boot and...

Rear Camera Failure. Latest Fix Info? Sleep Length?

Interesting. Could it be that you may have endured a hardware event, though? I haven't had a software update in ages, but this suddenly started happening to me after 3 years of trouble-free operation of the backup camera. The only notable events last week are that it rained a lot, some water...

    Model 3 12v battery dead

I'd vote for the frunk over the trunk. I, too, had my Li-Ion jump start pack in the trunk, and kicked myself for not thinking this through. When my 12V died last week, it rendered all doors/windows + frunk/trunk useless, making the Li-ion jump start pack inaccessible. I could only get as far...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

Not to thread detail, but as a follow-up to the battery swap, remote climate control via the app no longer works. Rebooted, reinstalled, re-paired everything imaginable (card, app, phone, car, wifi, BT, etc), but no go. I didn’t find any instance of “battery swap” and “remote climate control...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

Tomorrow came, I re-connected the negative terminal, and just drove it into the service center. While my car was in a limbo state of "being towed," they were kind enough to sort me out while I waited, so I was able to say farewell to the old: AtlasBX 85B24LS P/N 1129182-00-B, 2018/07/11 ...and...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

Definitely seeing this, but if I have one thing going for me, it's that it's in the garage, with a charge plug, haha. :) Sure enough, the car does not power down, and to your point, especially with the battery disconnected, it probably won't power down short of me pulling the header. I...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

The portable (Li-ion) jumper worked, and I don't think it took much -- didn't even drain it 5%. I suppose turning on the main computer requires less power than cranking an ICE. :) Silly question... After jumping it via the detached negative terminal workaround, did you folks re-attach the...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

Update: used a portable jumper and jumped it with the negative cable disconnected from the battery terminal, and it instantly powered up. Thank you for the timely and excellent suggestions. :) I see there are plenty of options for obtaining a 51R locally, which is fantastic. Unless the...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

Re-reading the post about removing the negative terminal, I see the goal is to remove the potentially defective battery from the equation. So…. I would: remove the car’s negative cable from the battery terminal connect the negative end of the portable jumper to the negative cable (removed from...

Model 3 12v Battery issues, monitoring, Aftermarket replacement

8/2018 AWD Model 3 here, and after 38 months of trouble-free ownership, I just woke up to a completely unresponsive car. I restarted BT, app, phone, car-shaped keyfob, card key, but no go. My jumper was in the trunk (fail), so had to call roadside assistance. They applied power to the bumper...

    Brake failed and almost crashed

Glad you’re safe. I’m assuming the regen brakes helped you slow down and eventually stop? Sounds like you somehow lost most of your brake fluid. Fictional TV shows usually attribute this to road debris damaging your brake line, but not sure how realistic that scenarios is. Curious as to what...

Exit Youtube Causes Interior Lights to Stay On

This has happened to me in the past 3-6 months, where the kids will want to watch some Netflix in the car while I empty the trunk of groceries, and after they exit the car and I lock up, I’ll go to the garage a few hours later, and find the 4 interior lights still illuminated. I tested this a...

Forgot How Much I Miss Waypoints

So... we might get waypoints after all... :) Difficult to hear, but a guy in the crowd yells, "Waypoints?!" at the 21:38 mark. He is my hero. :)

Forgot How Much I Miss Waypoints

100% agreed. My commute involves 3 drop-offs, and if I want to use navigation, I have to stop and select a new destination every time I drop someone off. It's not terrible, but 4 interactions each way, or 8 interactions total with the navigation seems quite manual for a car that can drive...

Reduced Range - Tesla Issued a Service Bulletin for possible fix

To close out the loop, my LR AWD shows a manufacturing date of 8/18. I figure if I'm really at 298, I'll assume it's good enough for now, Supercharging "thunk" sound and all, and let them sort it out whenever they call me back for HW3.

Reduced Range - Tesla Issued a Service Bulletin for possible fix

*Thank you* -- I totally forgot about it -- here, let me grab a screenshot... okay, 298 doesn't sound too bad, but curious to see that dip. The car is 18 months old at this point... gotta check the tire sticker to see when it was manufactured...

Reduced Range - Tesla Issued a Service Bulletin for possible fix

Sorry if I missed it, but... where are you folks getting those wonderful range graphs? As for myself, LR AWD 8/2018 delivery ... gotta look at the manufacturing date, but it's 294 at 100%.. "thunk" sound during Supercharging, too. :p

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Hola, fellow 2012 investor! I have to confess I certainly didn't expect the stock to end up where it's currently at, but my one lesson from Buffett has been to HOLD on companies I believe in, so that's paid off nicely. I, too, am very happy to see Tesla try to get more money out of their...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Looks like it's for AWD only. Things got super confusing when people started mining the page source and thinking the acceleration boost might apply to all models. I got the below e-mail just ~30 minutes ago: The Acceleration Boost is now available for Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

At least for me, the Tesla app version 3.10.2 on iOS did not have the "Upgrades" menu item. I had to initiate an upgrade to 3.10.3 before the "Upgrades" menu showed up. If someone is buying a new Model 3, +$8k from an AWD will get them a Performance, so this looks like a poor value. However...

    PS4 game controller?

I did not try the back reset button, but did find that my older CUH-ZCT1 controllers did not work via USB cable, while the newer CUH-ZCT2 controllers worked right away. I wanted wireless control, so I opted for a small, 4-port hub, a pair of USB extension cables, and a pair of 8bitdo's, and...

    Echo Auto In Model 3

FYI: If you leave your Amazon Echo Auto connected, but muted, there is an interesting side effect where your outgoing, Bluetooth-based calls that were initiated from your car will dial, connect, and immediately MUTE your iPhone (12.3.1). I've now left multiple, silent voicemails to friends and...

    Echo Auto In Model 3

Technically, it does have a tiny speaker just for initial setup, which was an interesting surprise -- it made me wonder if there's another use for it other that initial setup. I, too, have it stowed away out of sight, but when doing so, the front-facing, animated LED is not visible, which is...

    Cruise control not available

Sentry mode whacks autopilot, cruise control

FYI, sounds like what we're seeing here: Cruise control not available Removing the USB thumb drive and turning off Sentry can help, but at least in my case, I had to get the car to sleep/deep sleep, but even then, it still happens when driving, and randomly comes back after anywhere from a few...

    Cruise control not available

I saw your post, and have tried that, but was hoping to find a positive confirmation of sleep, since the amount of time we're expected to wait until it sleeps has been reported as anywhere from a few to 10 minutes, and I would really like to know for sure when I'm pulled over on the side of the...

    Cruise control not available

Great to hear that support can confirm a sleep will fix it. Now... I would love to see a support-confirmed process on: a) how to sleep the car b) how to confirm the car has actually slept Currently, the only feedback I get from attempts to sleep and successful sleeps are via TeslaFi. While I...

    Lost my AP after 2019.16.2

If you're a TeslaFi user, you can go to TeslaFi -> Settings -> Sleep Settings and have your car sleep when idle and deep sleep when charging overnight. This has helped me, and the problem hasn't recurred for the last 5 days. (I'm on 2009.12, but I hear it's likely the same issue in 2019.16)...

    Cruise control not available

Got the car to sleep, and had AutoPilot again for the return trip (~400mi), thank goodness, but while driving, AutoPilot just went out, and the lane markers went away, too, and it magically came back 2 minutes later. Man, not a huge fan of this unreliable behavior. :/

    Cruise control not available

I adjusted the Sleep schedule (TeslaFi -> Settings -> Sleep), and got an alert that my car had gone to sleep. Went back to the car after an hour, and sure enough, AutoPilot was working again. So... while I can’t vouch for everyone else, I would say that for me, this problem seems to be...

    Cruise control not available

So of course, AutoPilot went out again (2009.12.1.2) the weekend I need to drive 1+k freeway miles, and I did everything I could think of (remove USB, dial button reset, dual button + brake reset, and power off), but to no avail. Now it’s looking like the real fix is to park it at work where I...

    Cruise control not available

Glad to hear they've acknowledged the bug, and have an ETA for a fix. I wish the tech would've shared: a) root cause b) fix/workaround c) chance of recurrence If the Thumb Drive was the cause, then that answers a) + b), so even if c) is bad, I can get around it. But... if it's *not* the Thumb...

    Cruise control not available

After a day+ of nothing working, I'm functional again. If I had to guess it fixed itself because: a) magic or b) was disconnected from the Internet when I parked underground or c) I fixed the corrupt USB ThumbDrive, and re-inserted it My data points... 3, LR, AWD, EAP/FSD, 2018.08 delivery...

Will non performance AWD ever get power upgrade option?

Interesting, considering most references point to the AWD getting a lower output rear motor, though knowing Tesla, it would be a lot easier to believe that all Model 3's have the same rear powertrain, and that the AWD is capped at a lower output to differentiate between the P. Would I pay for a...

This has happened once, and only once thus far... EAP is such a better driver than me during boring lane keeping...!

Why did you purchase a Model 3 and what were your other options?

Other contenders were PHEV's like the Honda Clarity Plug-In, Toyota Prius Plug-In, and Chevy Volt, since the battery would cover my short, daily commute, yet they could all manage the 300+ mile road trips without the awkward stops for charging. (Yes, Supercharging is great, but it is absolutely...

Bump in front of foot pedals

Sorry to hear about this, but I'm quite relieved to hear I am not alone in this. I found myself sticking to the "hover over the accelerator" in traffic, as it's a familiar/safer position despite my discomfort, and when the roads opened up, going with the "planting it in front of the brakes"...

Front License Plate Bracket For Tesla Model 3

Odd, my reply didn’t post, and I can’t seem to edit/delete the empty one via mobile, but just wanted to thank @ranova for sharing about the experience with the alternate plate mount. Would love to hear how things have been for the last few months. SF parking can be pretty brutal with the...
