    carwash settings

Dude you can take your Tesla to the car wash no problem. It’s not going to crash your car. Here in northern cal they are used to it because every fifth car that’s washed is a Tesla, but it’s easy enough. Add to your list folding the side mirrors and your are good to go. Also bring a key card or...

Delivery Process - created and staffed by clowns

Well, they showed up. After delivery window, and after the appt got wiped from the site. Inspected car very closely, no major issues detected. Only thing I spotted was some hanging upholstery on the back seat per picture. Should be an easy fix.

Delivery Process - created and staffed by clowns

update: true to form, they blew off today's delivery appointment as well. No call or text - just a no show, and the appointment no longer shows on the page. Clowns.

Delivery Process - created and staffed by clowns

True enough. Just reporting that this is the worst it's been, and getting worse. I understand that other people's experience may vary, and others may not have much prior higher-end purchase experience to rely on for comparison.

Delivery Process - created and staffed by clowns

This is the least professional car delivery experience I've had, and that covers the waterfront, from sh*tty cheap cars i bought way back when, to the higher end cars Tesla purports to compete with. From end to end, no one in the process has an understanding of what is happening. Sometimes a...

SF bay check for VIN. Just got mine.

Yeah, just got VIN assigned, saw it in the html (it's not "source code"). 103xx, blue/black, LR AWD, no FSD. DAY ONE res, good lord.

    Got a call for delivery

Nope, just blue/black, LR AWD. I've given them a few earfuls, but what are you gonna do? :)

    Got a call for delivery

No AP or Cruise control today

Seems to be sentry-related, as earlier poster said. See my post on same topic.

Sentry mode whacks autopilot, cruise control

Dunno if this has happened to anyone else, but over the past 5 days, more and more pieces of the car's tech package have fallen off line. First the speed limits, then autopilot, then any lane lines or object detection, and then plain old cruise control. Just drives like a "dumb car" now. On...

BMW i2 (i3 Replacement) For Under $34,000 Hinted At For 2024

i3 is a good car, in some respects, superior to my S and my M3. The range was the biggest problem.

SF Bay Area shop to respray OEM paint following accident?

Thanks to both of you. Good news is that the other guy's insurer has accepted responsibility, so now it's just time.

SF Bay Area shop to respray OEM paint following accident?

So yesterday a big old box flew off the back of a contractor truck in front of me on 101 and scratched/scuffed the heck out of the paint on the front hood and left side. Anyone in the Bay Area/Peninsula you'd recommend to respray the OEM red for my Model 3? Thanks, Will

    Valet Parking

This would draw chuckles here in the SF bay area. Every sixth car is a model 3

    Front end rattle/clunk noises

Frustrating that you were told it's normal. Assuming it is same clunking, it's not normal. I would stay after the SC/uplevel were I you.

    Front end rattle/clunk noises

Yes, I have had this twice; once about four months ago, and now again. I also have a fairly early vin (Alcantara!)... 2200ish. They replaced stabilizer links, as you say. The fix lasted until now; let's see what they do this time. Did they resolve it for you?

    Model 3 or cheap Bolt?

The Model 3 SR doesn't exist except on paper. Might as well be zero dollars. Well then your viewpoint is sure to be well-considered.

    Model 3 or cheap Bolt?

I like my M3, but have driven the neighbor's Bolt and would be very happy with it too, especially from the inside (ie, it's less pretty on the outside).

Will Bosch charging station work with Tesla

The adaptor is in a nice little bag in the frunk. Ditto that you might want to get an extra.

    Service panel upgrade

At least in CA, if you're doing anything fancy like going underground, or requiring new transformer, PG&E may also insist that one of their engineers draw up the plans for the upgrade. -From the guy who had a 400 amp service installed in his new house

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

Very interesting. I've noticed a slight drift to the right - how intense is the rightward pull you're experiencing?

    Model 3 vs BMW i3

I had an i3 for a 24 month lease before I got my S, now on to M3. The M3 is overall a better car, there's no doubt, but you're not giving the i3 its due. It was a good car, especially as a city car, with some tech (including carbon fiber frame) that is way beyond the M3. Fun to drive, much...

Notice a slight whine at low speeds?

Maybe, but it's not a sound in my S or any other S I've sat in. Still, glad to hear it's common with other folks Model 3s.
  25. W

Notice a slight whine at low speeds?

Anyone else notice a quiet, high-pitched whine at speeds <40 mph or so? Mine has one, just at the outer range of my hearing. It's not the infamous Model S "milling" sound that signaled a bum drive unit. It's barely noticeable, sounds "electrical" not "mechanical" if that makes sense.

    Buying a Reservation?

It is not easy, especially if you are using Tesla financing. Basically you and your new friend are in it together through delivery.

Why I Won't Be Ordering EAP and FSD

If you live out here in Mountain View, there's really no denying that Waymo is way out ahead in terms of true autonomous car work. Those cars are ubiquitous, and handling all sorts of traffic issues that would stump AP - double parked cars, nutty pedestrians, traffic circles, etc.

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Confirmed that this is different headliner from the one in the car I picked up from Fremont delivery center yesterday.

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

It's hard to tell from the video, since naturally you were a little more focused on the bigger picture. The color looks right. The best way to tell is to feel it, is it slightly napped or suede like, like the back side of an animal skin? that's alcantara. honestly, until somebody shows up...

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Alcantara, or at least Alcantara-like. Picked up yesterday VIN 2200 series.
