    Navigation Update 2020

Seems to be a roll-back. Multiple sources in the German Tesla forum tff-forum.de reported that they had another "update" already being on navigation data 2020.32-12313 and then they found the data to be back on 2019.20-10482. Why they roll-back the update is up to speculation.

Is 2019.40.50.1 wide on AP2 cars ? If yes, when did you get yours ?

The details of 2019.40.50.1 are showing 6 AP2 cars but I doubt they indeed have AP2 hardware. Under those 6 cars there are 4 Model 3 vehicles, a "S Long Range" (which would be at least HW2.5 with that badge) and a S 100D (the only plausible in my view).

    Firmware 2019.24.1 [AP1/MCU1 - just sketchpad improvements]

Sadly it's here to stay. The UN-ECE (United Nations Economics Comission for Europe) regulation 79 is limiting the lateral acceleration for (semi) autonomous cars driving faster than 10km/h to 3m/s^2. There are some other requirements in this regulation that allegedly will delay FSD features here...

    Software Update 2019.8.x

Did you check the brake light? Is it working and so the message bogus or did it actually stop working?

So @verygreen did it again! Kudos

Anyone have an extra ticket to Model Y event?

Thanks for the clarification. What will happen if only the guest shows up and not the invited as he/she is incapable of attending?
  7. bebbiXpress

Anyone have an extra ticket to Model Y event?

Is it even possible to bring a +1? On the invite it says „non-transferable“ but nothing of a +1
  8. bebbiXpress

Anyone have an extra ticket to Model Y event?

I'd travel from Switzerland to LA, wouldn't that be enough to qualify as the winner? :D

    HW2.5 capabilities

Refund for what? EAP, FSD or the whole car? Since AP2.0 they promised a car "with all the hardware needed for full self-driving capability at a safety level substantially greater than that of a human driver".
  10. bebbiXpress

    HW2.5 capabilities

I look at it this way, there are owners who paid for FSD and others only paid for EAP. I guess for Tesla only the FSD owners are problematic in terms of loosing money on. With the new upgrading rules EAP owners have to pay $2000 for FSD. For $2000 don‘t you think the retrofitting would be paid...

    Software Update 2018.50.x

Dude, you just (unintentionally) mocked the rest of the world aside North America who's waiting for NoA to arrive: "last couple months" "first time in ages" :D;) We wait for ages for new features, I guess mostly due to burEUcratics (I intentionally spelled it wrong).

    Software Update 2018.50.x

Our X has 50.6 and we still can't log into Spotify with the Tesla account from time to time, especially wile on LTE.
  13. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.50.x

As of TeslaFi some European S, X and 3s are getting 2019.4.2. Don't know if Dog and Sentry Modes are included in that release.

    Software Update 2018.50.x

That's the case if it's a newer car that has an MCU2. If the car has the older MCU the two screens (or actually "computers") are independent of each other. You can reboot the MCU by pressing both wheels and reboot the IC (instrument cluster) by pressing the buttons above the wheels. While...

    Software Update 2018.50.x

They changed mine in december. SeC told me it was one of the last until new revision comes out probably in summer 19... I never had the graphics glitches, neither in 48.12.1 nor with 50.6. but I already had to reset mcu 2 times because no more blinking sound and no nav directions but radio...

    Software Update 2018.50.x

Well then take a look in the settings menu under "Auto Wipers" or "Navigate on Autopilot" to only mention two places where you actually can read "beta". I would say, the early access program is more an alpha program than a beta.

    Software Update 2018.48.x

It‘s a long time without a new release for S/X. Is something big comming or do they for once wanna be sure to fix all current bugs without introducing new ones with the next release?
  18. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.48.x

Anyone else thinks the rain detection and therefor auto-wipers have been improved in 48.12.1? Just drove in light rain where it always has been difficult for the NN to wipe sufficiently. In 48.12.1 it wipes much earlier, even on setting 1.
  19. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.48.x

That's my guess too. Would be another HW2.5-only feature :(
  20. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.48.x

Good thing to hear. Even long semis without splitting into two while you pass? @verygreen did you had the chance to check if with 48.1 cars are now tracked arround the car by AP (one static ID) or if this is a UI tweak?
  21. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.48.x

A Model 3 in Canada. An early access version with NoA for Canada? I still hope there's a present from Tesla ready for Christmas with NoA for Europe!

    Neural Networks

As @CK_Stuggi said, emergency vehicles don‘t alter lights. The only ones doing that are buses and trams of public transportation arround here. They are prioritized but lights do the full cycle as described.

    Software Update 2018.48.x

Do you have something more specific on that? When, how, with the 2018.48.1 version?
  24. bebbiXpress

    Software Update 2018.48.x

@verygreen and maybe @jimmy_d: As I understand, the bouncing is coming from the circumstance that cars don't get handed over from cam to cam. At least if I watch the "what AP 2 can see" videos, the objects (cars, trucks, etc) getting new ID's if they wander from one cam to another. That results...

    Neural Networks

In some countries, like here in Switzerland, you can find out which one is which when the light state changes. Here, if the light switches from green to red it is 1. green 2. yellow 3. red and from red to green 1. red 2. red AND yellow (means "prepare to drive but wait until green") 3. green I...

v9 finally going international? ... 2018.40 spotted in Japan

Strangely a lot of tff-forum users, reporting a notification of an update tonight but nothing in car nor app. I got a notification too, opened the app, nothing. Went to the car, nothing. But, there are some cars on teslafi and ev-fw reporting 2018.46.1 and all but 1 are cars in either Austria or...

v9 finally going international? ... 2018.40 spotted in Japan

V9 has arrived for my X in the form of 2018.44. I didn't see anything obvious mentioned in the release notes that could explain the delay in CH and AT.

v9 finally going international? ... 2018.40 spotted in Japan

I received the exact same answer from Tesla as you @Didi and so did a bunch of other tff-forum.de users in CH and AT. I guess we have to wait for 2018.46 which is probably the version of the next release.

    Software Update 2018.44.x

Strange, but it came from 2018.42.4 and that was a 3-only release too. So I guess it's an error on teslafi.

v9 finally going international? ... 2018.40 spotted in Japan

Dashcams are not forbidden in Switzerland. There are two things that must be considered: 1. Your view through the windshield mustn't be obstructed by anything (that goes also for pocket navs, cell phone mounts, etc) 2. There's an objection because of privacy laws (constant observation of public...

    Neural Networks

Another question arose. As of my knowledge HW2.0 cameras finally only have 2 channels, grey and red. How is the NN dealing with that?
  40. bebbiXpress

    Neural Networks

Thanks @jimmy_d! Very interesting stuff! I do have a question that is not directly related to the NNs (I guess) but to V9 and maybe you've got an answer to that. Do you think, the reason only HW2.5 got the dash cam feature is because of the limited color channels on HW2.0 cameras or because of...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

In the past, the encrypted firmware update files were downloaded via HTTP, so there was a DNS lookup prior. I think it came from CDN servers like AWS or akamai in the past.

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

Do you need HD Maps to drive your car? No?! Me neither, what a surprise. Maybe that's Tesla's angle, they try to only use vision (maybe with a little help from radar and ultrasonic) like humans do. We will see if they succeed with that. I'm a little sceptic about that, but let's just wait and see.
  43. bebbiXpress

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I respect an objective and constructive criticisms of any system but what you produce is simply FUD. You're a Mobileye fan-boy forgetting that a lot of accidents and the majority of deaths were a result of an inattentive driver and Mobileye's AP 1 system too limited to (reliably) recognize...
