Are these hard water spots or windshield defects

This is where a product like MDR will chemically loosen and remove a water spot. They sit on top of a coating and do not go through to etch the paint. The problem that I see happen when you mechanically remove a water spot from paint, without chemically removing it mostly first, is the paint can...

Are these hard water spots or windshield defects

Hard water spots are the minerals in the tap or hard water left behind as water drops evaporate . These can bond to paint or glass, coated or not. The above mentioned product or MDR ( Mineral Deposit Remover) from Optimum will work. I can only speak for MDR as far as instructions go. Clean the...

    Car drying options

I get it! I used to be a distributor for Optimum while I owned a detailing business. I sold Optimum No Rinse (ONR) for almost a year before I could stomach using it on the cars I was washing. Once I started the pressure washer was history. I try to stay agnostic in my answers, but I really do...

Replacing that giant Model X windshield

Check into windshield coatings. A Glass Coating actually lowers the likelihood of a rock chip on your windshield. This is due to greater slip/ higher coefficient of slip. Not a 100 percent cure, but definitely reduces the risk. Another great thing is these coatings are superhydrophobic, which...

    CILAJET

Definitely do your homework. Read reviews and what a warranty covers and the terms. This is a sealant. There are more advanced Ceramic Coating options on the market. I suggest due diligence with these Ceramic products as well. Review all products exact warranty term to see if yearly...

Any advise on a fix for this?

Looks like you showed your passenger a white knuckle ride! Could be a super simple repair where heat could be applied and then pressed with a grain pad, and look amazing. Tricky and time consuming. But if there is penetration it will need to be filled grained cured and dyed for proper repair. I...
