Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Just wondering how everyone who has visited is feeling about the 'parking fees apply' setup. I've only encountered one other Supercharger, in Sacramento, where there is no period of free parking. I am super cheap, hence this post(:, but I won't go and get validated, unless I buy something. So...
This is a helpful map, thanks! I went up on my bike 30 times to check progress, but I did a lot of cutting, so I didn't know which entrance to actually use with the car!!
I was the only one here! It actually didn't show up in the car as a charging option, so maybe some sorta odd slow rollout?
And out of curiosity, what happens at 5am or 10pm when you can't get validated? It's gonna cost a fortune in parking fees to charge. Happy it's open, but I really really...
Looks like they added some 72kw chargers. No indication on the charger it is slower than the others, so if you don’t know what these look like you might wonder why you’re charging so slowly. Still a wait of 6 cars.
I was just there yesterday as well. It looks like all the cable, from the first floor to the pedestals, still needs to be pulled. And I don't even see the cable on site like I did when they pulled the first section to the cabinets a few weeks ago. I hope they still open in September like someone...
I was thinking the same thing. If you enter via the (non valet) alley entrance there is a HUGE ground floor section off to the left that I’ve never seen being used. It would be perfect for superchargers. It also has a second set of gates, they could use those gates to validate the ticket as you...
Seems like they are at the slow boring part of the build. Digging holes in the street and putting loads of conduit on the walls and ceilings. They also added two more cabinets on the ground.
Not that we need nearly daily updates, but I happen to be here a lot... a few pedestals have already gone in, no wiring yet. Anyone know how they wire these things when they are already installed like this??
Always lots of activity here, but now starting to see the first bits above ground. I think I also saw two more cabinets over by the area where the conduit is installed. Lots happening fast it seems. (I hope)
That is so funny you didn’t get charged because when I did the same thing last week the machine asked me for 23 bucks!!! Went to another machine which asked me for $2.30, felt much better about that so didn’t press my luck any further. In the end I went to Starbucks and spent $3.70 on a coffee...
Just walked the parking lot...absolutely nothing there! And I realized if it is really going to be located on the top floor, it is going to be quite inconvenient, as twisting up the structure is time-consuming. And if they put them in the way back corner, it'll be a 7-10 min walk to get to...
Similar situation...wreck on March 23rd. Should I wait for repairs to be complete before I tell the at fault insurance company I expect some sort of diminished value compensation? Or should I tell them now?
Drove from NorCal to Los Angeles yesterday and Kettleman wasn’t originally in my plans but had to wait at two locations (and got reduced rate at another) so we altered our charging plan. No wait at Kettleman City, 97kw and a lounge to relax in!
Just so I’d know what I was up against I kept...
Am I crazy or didn't I see 3 or 4 non charging spaces in the far end of the parking lot (farthest away from building)? An area not covered by solar panels?
Took my family through Kettleman yesterday. We were taken by how cool it was! So cool we ended up buying too much Tesla Swag and charging way more than we should have! There were 12 stalls taken when we arrived yet it still looked wide open! Though I must say I’m not sure what the process to...
