Older Model S/X might not get this because a lot of those cars have free premium connectivity. This feature would cost Tesla higher mobile upload internet fees in perpetuity. Maybe when they get wifi at all the super chargers they can introduce it.

I got my S Jan 2018, bit sad missed out on MCU2 but happy to hear there might be a couple options now when the emmc chip goes out. I’ve noticed a few times my MCU locks up or goes black. But have always been able to reset it so far.

Does the MCU2 have premium audio ports only? My MCU1 came with standard audio, so that might be a nice side benefit to an upgrade.

Pre 2016 there is just one small filter accessible in frunk as seen in videos above. After 2016 there is the same small filter accessible inside the car behind glovebox. Maybe two of same small filters. And then additionally a large HEPA filter in the frunk, if you purchased the premium option...

Interested in the upgrade path to MCU2 but if its too expensive I’d rather them come out with a MCU3 and give us a path to that. Future proof it a bit longer.

If you search your old emails, you may find the email that has your service agreement spelled out. Depending on that agreement there may be a deductible included.

I may get the HEPA filter sometime. For now Im using a $21 aftermarket filter and it works pretty well. Its a pretty easy DIY job. More info: Aftermarket filter for Model S

Usb drives are pretty cheap, i keep a second one in glovebox and switch them when it stops recording.

My kid pushed one of the parking sensors on the rear bumper in. Still there in correct spot, but loose and you can move it around. Not sure if this throws the calibration off or might cause a problem with letting water in during rain or car wash. Would you fix it or wait and see if any issues...

Replaced my tires at Costco today and all the tpms sensors said the tire pressure was so low i had to pull over. Checking with a gauge they were 40 psi parked, but the car said 36 psi. I asked the SC and they said the tpms sensors are set at sea level and can be a few pounds off at elevation...

Spoke to a tech in Denver today who said no free replacement but they have a uv fix coming. Wonder if small claims court would enforce the warranty.

Going to get my annual service soon, will see if they fix the yellow border while I’m there. Kind of hoping they will since i haven't gotten any replacement while others have went through several. I was waiting for the permanent fix too.

They do accept trade ins but you can get more selling yourself. You can get carmax quotes and tesla might match those. Getting it from tesla means you can buy an extended warranty, whereas you can’t from a private dealer. Its a really fun car and cheap to operate.

Hm, that’s a good point. The batteries may be shot but the wheel should fit. I found the braking in the Model S to be lacking. It’s a lot of weight to stop I guess, but I was hoping to get Subaru like winter performance with an awd Tesla. Maybe snow tires will do that.

I had this happen, Tesla service had to come out and replace the buttons. The horn not working is a safety issue and should be cause to get it fixed ASAP for you.

I’ve had this come up and haven’t gotten it replaced yet. Here’s hoping that a fix really does materialize and it’s taken care of sometime in 2019

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to hear from others who did the aftermarket filter. I was also thinking maybe go with a MERV 8 or 11 and combine it with a sheet of activated carbon. They sell it on amazon. Not sure if that would be better.

I've emailed Tesla asking if there is some upgrade path available for my recent Model S 01/2018. Not holding my breath, but never hurts to ask.
