Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I took some video's PTC heater swap was simple. My front junction box had the lid against the firewall. The bolts to remove it from firewall are impossible to reach from the top. Took it to service with everything all apart in frunk told them don't worry about putting it back together. Just...
Those are some great points I already bought the one fuse for $45 from TSLA, and got the latest gen PTC heater from ebay NIB for $330. I will pickup another fuse at the service center. I need to get this swapped out pretty quick heated garage but here in Chicago still chilly. The heated seats...
I'm pretty sure my lid is up against the firewall of the car so won't have access to it. I will document and record with go-pro everything. Not too much on youtube on this common problem.
I'm getting ready to change out the PTC heater & 40a fuse on my 2016 MS 75D October Build. Heat was flakey for years would cut in and out. Last week the fuse blew and it scared the crap out of me. Any good lessons learned changing that fuse. I was around the FJB area last year changed the...
Long time owner here and I'm feeling the affects of this $239 hour labor rate. Had a coolant heater error replaced the unit and error still persist. They had me approve $970 work order to troubleshoot the low voltage and high voltage systems. Along with changing out the heater again. I'm so...
Went to start the car and it wouldn’t move. Bunch more errors attached I disconnected/reconnected fireman loop and 12v all is good. Still coolant heater error
I replaced the coolant heater along with the 12v battery and alert still persists. I noticed in ScanMytesla the coolant heater outlet will show 421F and sometime drop to 81F. Went to tesla and they ran toolbox against the car and didn't see anything standing out. Any ideas what to look into...
I found a new set on ebay they weren't available anywhere else. Looks like they are now available at the regular big box store. I have 2000 miles on the tires now they are amazing. So quiet and the acoustic foam looked much more solid than the OEM MXM4's
Happy to report FSD Beta is now installing on my 2016 MS 75D October Build. I upgraded all the cameras myself over a year ago and had a 96% Safety Score. Damn this has been a long wait.
Here is a vid I did on the cameras talked about the pillars too. You just need to be patient removing their is some adhesive on them. Once adhesive is free be careful as not to rip out the wire going to camera not much slack.
Just got the 44.25.2 on the old 2016 Oct Build MS 75D with upgraded cameras. I did opt out of the beta a month back. Will opt back in when somebody gets it
Me too blind spot would be so helpful. Why couldn’t they of started sending this release to the earlier vins first. I’m really getting tired of corporate communication via twitter.
Been on 2021.36.5.6 since 11/5 always was the first to get updates. Once I opted in to FSD beta and back out stopped receiving updates :(. All cameras were upgraded to RCCB couple months back.
Thanks for pushing that tweet Valerio! Something is holding us up from FSD beta and they should be forthcoming. I feel bad for the poor advisors at the service centers they always get stuck without answers. Worst case I have seen them make stuff up lol.
I have a 2016 MS Oct Build with 96,000 miles only had to replace a clinch actuator for trunk, 12v battery, and hepa/cabin filters, and tires. I replaced them all myself - tires very happy with this particular car.
Thanks Azred for the nice writeups. When I had the remote service guys on the phone they checked each camera that was upgraded and it showed RCCB. When they made that gateway config change it locked everything up. Seems like Tesla corporate needs to get there act together and figure this out...
Update for folks like me who already upgraded all the cam's prior to the retrofit. Tesla updated my GW config and it disabled all the cameras and navigation. They reverted the change back on Saturday and I am back to square one. They mentioned I would have to wait till the official retrofit...
I had a manager for Tesla reach out to me a couple days ago. Told him the whole scenario on how all my cameras were upgraded and still didn’t get fsdbeta.he called me up today and said I was all set the updated my config and it shows RCCB cameras and enabled for beta. I got in my car and gps is...
@Art VandeIay can you message me when you get a chance. I got the REV B's and had the NFC card reader which I didn't have a cable for. Maybe we can get someone to confirm if the D rev doesn't have the NFC.
I'm in the same boat I was talking to green on twitter most likely they only need to enable V2 cam in our gateway config. I am going to try and get a credit the cams are the same.
Glad to see they turned this around quick. There weren't many b-pillar cams in the tesla warehouses last week when I ordered. Hope they bumped up the supplies prior to this announcement.
What blows my mind is we have ZERO way to get in touch with someone that is in the "know". You would think they would be bending over to get us to test for them. Having bought the car in 2016 and driven 95,000 miles we would provide good feedback. But no somebody can pick it up today drive...
FYI Attached is a picture of the new vs old B-Pillar Appliques there are 2 cables going to the newer cars. One for the cam and other to the nfc reader new one on left. Here is a video I uploaded ----> Current State of Affairs on Cameras
On my 2016 AP2 MS I had all the cameras upgraded to latest versions as of Jan 21. Still didn't get FSD beta in there system it still shows I have the older cameras. They don't probe the HW real time my config has to be changed manually. I've gone back and forth in chat, service advisors...
Not sure on that didn't tear into the dash. All these cameras are so damn easy to swap
I actually noticed with the new pillar cameras it sees more cars in the blind spot. With the larger field of view on those between the ap2's it does make a difference. Also to note new pillar camera unit...
I now have all 5 cameras upgraded to the latest as of Jan/2021. Talked to the service advisors, parts guy, and mechanics about my situation. First the SA's and parts guy said that cameras couldn't be upgraded on my car. They mentioned there was redundant cables going to the cameras. This...
Yes all new RCCB's going to try and get that gateway config updated today. Also the pillar units now have NFC modules fingers crossed it can be enabled.
No dissapointements here. Just got the b-pillar off the RH side holy crap they used alot of sealant. There is a huge difference between our 2016 AP2 pillar vs the latest. The biggest thing that stands out is the clear circle around the pillar camera noticeably larger now. This has to come...
Well just got back from my local service center. The latest B-Pillar cameras were in so i grabbed them. Two of the service advisors I had been working with for 4 years left. Must of got fed up surprised they lasted that long super nice people. Anyways I had made an appointment weeks ago to...
