Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

It is showing as available right now... 15 out of 16 stalls available... it says CCS adaptor is obligatory, that must be the first in the U.K. with that requirement

Whatever happened to the new Roadster?

I saw that with Roadster reservations, there is no option for FSD, but with Cybertruck you can pre-order to lock in the bargain price now £6,800. So does that mean Roadster will just come with FSD, or just they haven’t got round to updating the page?

New Tesla Owner, battery range lower than expected

If she’s got a driveway, find an ordinary 13amp socket and plug in as soon as you arrive. A few hours having lunch/chat etc and you’ll have added maybe 10-12% or more, and that will probably make the difference in not having to stop for a charge on the way home. I remember going on a sales...

    Third party charging in France

A warning on 2-pin plugs for France. The polarity in French sockets can randomly be one way or the other, meaning that your 2-pin adaptor will only work on half of them. Solution is to buy two two-pin adaptors from Tesla with different polarity. Or just keep on trying different sockets til you...

    Charge point install

I’ve done installations with both PodPoint and Chargemaster, they do an advance “survey” by asking you to take photos, and on the day both did an incredibly neat job. One issue is to choose carefully the place where they drill through the wall, so that the cable runs both indoors (which will...

    Total Newbie Question - Supercharging!

Other hints... If you leave the car to go for coffee or whatever, use the app on your phone to check progress, this avoids risk of paying idle fees (and gets you on the road ASAP).

I’ve got a CHAdeMO adaptor for sale, type C, barely used but very minor scuffing from being in trunk of my MS, £250 incl postage (or £240 pickup near Notting Hill or Dorchester, Dorset).

Eurotunnel Tesla Chargers - are they working or not

Screen in my car now shows 2 brand-new superchargers at the Flexiplus terminal in Calais, additional to those at main terminal. No idea if they are working

I signed up to lots of cards when I started 3 years ago, 40,000 miles later I've never used any of them. Superchargers + plug in on arrival.

If I get a flat tire in UK what’s my options?

I got a flat twice (don’t ask), second time after a 2500 miles European trip just 10 miles from home in London, how stupid is that. On both occasions, I called Tesla roadside assistance, they organised a repair truck that arrived within about 30-40mns and took 10 mins or so do do the work. The...

Sharing my no driveway/on street parking setup

This is just stunningly good... I though all local councils were hostile... and here, Hampshire is being amazingly positive... just use a cover that spans the whole width of pavement, ..... and run the cable up to 2 car lengths along the gutter, so no need to be right outside the door. ...

Tesla application for an electricity generation licence

Grid prices per kWh vary from 35p+ to negative, with the more usual range from about 25p down to 5p. So Tesla will install a massive bank of Megapacks, charge up at 5p or less and then sell at 25p++. It is basically money for nothing and they will amortise their capital costs within some short...

    Free premium Connectivity ending

The real time traffic info displayed to the screen is amazing. It has to be interpreted sometimes, so yellow can just mean traffic slowing for roadworks, not necessarily a jam. And it is often 15-20 minutes out of date, but that’s understandable and still very useful. The deep crimson is real...

Buying advice - New 3 or Used S

My 2016 S has AP1 and I have done dozens of long European runs (France, Germany, Italy etc), it is perfect. On the kind of mileage you are contemplating, even a new 3 will burn out of warranty relatively quickly, so having little or no warranty left on a used S is not such a big deal. Also: do...

    Pano Roof Cracked!

Crack in the opening panel of roof.. no external damage, just within the layers of glass... gets worse each day. No apparent cause, just appeared from nowhere. Tesla quote £1,175.40 to replace. I've asked them if covered by warrenty, awaiting reply. It may be covered by insurance in UK.
