I live in Albuquerque and we have two Teslas... a 2017 MS 90D and a 2019 Model 3. We get Ranger service here and they do a great job. They are based in El Paso, but service NM.

There is a separate alarm function that does work... but that is not the new Sentry Mode, which displays a glowing "Hal" eye in the touchscreen and uses the vehicle cameras to record the surroundings (e.g. the faces of would-be burglers). The latter, Sentry Mode, appears to work on AP2 vehicles...

I agree. The release notes should just say that recording, sound etc only work with vehicles newer than August 2017, or whatever. That would clear up the confusion and end lots of frustration for those of us trying to get things to work that won't.

Good idea. Although I love my Model S, my 2014 Infiniti had this - sort of. It had "white noise" generation to reduce outside noise... technically not the same as noise cancellation, but in the right direction. (Although sometimes, when it was quiet, the white noise was a bit annoying.)

I had a similar experience as described by john pane. Did the update before Christmas, used Santa Mode a few times, then this morning discovered the car completely powered down and both screens black. I had to reboot both screens to get it back to normal.

Happened to me too, yesterday. We had parked to pick up a pizza, and when we got back in the car the screen was black and rebooted.

Nissans and Inifinits do that. Hold down the unlock button on the FOB as you approach the car (e.g. in summer) and the windows roll down to let the hot air out. The Tesla solution, activating the A/C remotely, is better.
