    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I haven't checked it lately, but a few months ago, PVoutput.org has detailed instructions on how to generate, upload and keep logs of your Powerwall data. I kept logs, polling every 5 minutes to 1/2 hour for weeks.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Duece24, I agree with Abasile. In the beginning, when Tesla was able to file your SGIP rebate, getting a Powerwall or two was absolutely a good value. It made total sense. With the rebate and the tax incentive, I was able to get two Powerwalls for less than the price of of a gasoline generator...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I was working with another homeowner developer near my home. He had good communication and contacts with both SCE and Tesla. At first Tesla said they would supply the interval data for the both of us. He waited and waited for this data. I gave up and did it myself. I was able to complete the...

Wayne, sorry, since I have gotten my check I don't keep up with this forum so much. I have a program that creates the data you need. PM me if you still need it.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I signed the contract August 30th, 2017. Installed Dec 22nd, 2017. Tesla sent me an email about 3 weeks ago asking me to sign papers for them to begin the SGIP application process. I don't need them to do this so I let them know. One of the big managers...

Germany's car industry can't build its own batteries

This is not my definition of "exploding" on to the market. But definitely a pleasant annoucement from Audi. Audi unveils an electric SUV and it's taking deposits now
  7. K

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Exactly! It's like they changed the terms of the contract midstream. I hope it works out for you. I know you put a lot of work into this.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I heard a rumor they may be granting special circumstances to those 10 homeowners who were developer approved and in the process of completing their application. This might be a really good thing because you get in the step you were originally approved but Tesla will now take over the...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Wayne, maybe you should just confirm with PG&E that they still consider you the developer. About a month ago Tesla and SGIP had a big confidential meeting and I guess this was the outcome. At least get Tesla to commit to you in whatever step you are in.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I will tell you from my own experience it took 7 months after install to get my rebate check. And I submitted documents immediately after they were requested or scheduled. I made some mistakes and Tesla made some mistakes with paperwork. When mistakes were made or SGIP wanted more clarity or...

Germany's car industry can't build its own batteries

Just wondering where is Sonnen Batterie??? Before Tesla, Sonnen was the top of the line solar energy storage solution if one had loads of money. I wonder why they are not getting in the EV game?

Don't forget people who are nearing the expiration of their reservation can apply for extension.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I would love to get another powerwall dedicated to outdoors features, garden house and wine cellar. I would just feel so guilty getting an incentive for that:oops:. But yeah, if the incentive is really good, I might just try it.

Germany's car industry can't build its own batteries

I agree we need Germany to step up and provide some real competition. I have faith in Germany, I really hope it is only 3-5 years behind. I like Teslas but they are lot of money with no real luxury feel. With Germany on their backs I am sure that will change. Well, just my opinion.

Germany's car industry can't build its own batteries

If anyone can work it out...the Germans will. They always do:)

Germany's car industry can't build its own batteries

I am not so sure about that. Supposedly some manufacturers like Mercedes will come out with a electric version for all classes starting year 20/20. I think it was reported that some have seen an unmarked Audi electric test car in Germany. Also, I saw the article myself (I can try and find if you...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

There is hope. After starting the SGIP rebate as a self-submitting homeowner/developer August 30th 2017, I just receive my rebate check. For me, the frustrations, trials and errors were worth it in the end. But this process is only for those who like a challenge and have the time for to jump...

    Powerwall 2 Gateway API Documentation

Does anyone know if there is a unique identifier when querying the gateway using GET api/aggregates. I can use pvoutput to generate a daily logfile. But I need to prove that this data came from my specific powerwalls. Any suggestion of help would be greatly appreciated.

Markb1and Frankman60 are you both in CSE territory? seems to be a different animal altogether. The rest of the utilities are still in Step 2 and the way it looks Step 2 is still good to go for another 3 to 6 mos. at least. I wonder why CSE area is blowing through their funds so fast? Well we...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Depending on where you live, some people from this forum have said Infinity Solar is charging about $1000 over Tesla's estimate which is pretty decent compared to some other installers out there who are charging minimum $4000 over. But they only service Southern California.
  24. K

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

SGIP can, depending on how you fill out your Developer's ID application, determine that Tesla is the developer for your project. But if they determine you are the developer for your project, then you receive a Developer's ID. The handbook states there cannot be two developers. But the problem is...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Other members on this forum have had success by marking 9 out of the 13 activities. You should mark all those activities you "could" do. Some folks have written in detail in earlier posts which activities they were able to mark off. Unfortunately, SGIP is not interpreting the rules according...

    Powerwall 2: Installation

. Also, for my install, the issue was they were getting to close to the gas meter. So installers did some last minute adjustments.
  27. K

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Yes, you are right. I forgot about that. We had a super efficient A8 diesel in Germany. Couldn't even import it into California. No guarantee Audi's version of Powerwall would even get the okay to operate in the U.S., Audi smart home battery grid creates a 'virtual power plant'

I am not technically inclined and I don't have lovely install photos like some. But I PM'd a diagram of my install which is very similar. No subpanel.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

You have a year to complete the project once you receive confirmation. But you will need to know battery manufacturer, installer if different, and technical stats of the battery you want to install in order to reach the confirmation stage. You will need to know if you are installing one or two...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Yes, I believe that is the same reason PG&E is cancelling their homeowners. Homeowner's can take on some of the development activities but I guess SGIP CSE&PGE don't think it is enough for homeowners to self-submit their rebates. Homeowners need to get their voices heard somehow through a...

    Powerwall 2 "waiting list"

I agree with you...except that when you get the SGIP rebate, the powerwall is the same price as a fuel based system. That was our deciding factor in pursuing a Tesla Powerwall with rebate. In fact with the rebate and the ITC credit, the powerwall system for us will be slightly cheaper than the...

The SGIP, unlike Tesla's is very helpful. I agree, you should definitely call/email them. They typically get back to you quickly through email. Just a heads up, don't let them know you have decided on Tesla. Tell them you are researching various battery manufacturers and options(which you are)...

It's true. I tried to do that very thing. Wanted to top up my powerwalls from the grid for our first and only storm so far this year here in Ventura county. There is no way to do it. If anyone knows a hack, let me know.

    Powerwall 2 "waiting list"

You have a contract with Tesla and they confirmed to you that you are in their Step 2 queue. So you are okay. The problems mentioned are for those customers who are now too late. They don't yet have a contract and/or they have specifically been told by Tesla that they cannot submit a rebate for...

I noticed that you are in San Diego so your utility is SCE? I would suggest, although a lot of folks may disagree, that you attempt to apply for the rebate yourself, getting into step 2. Try and get your Developer's Key. If you can get that you might have a chance of getting your application...

According to folks on this forum https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/powerwall-2-sgip-incentives.9897 who came late to the SGIP rebate game, Tesla is now telling it's potential customers in California that they have so many people in their queue that they have reached their Developer's Cap...

Here is a timeline of my contract and install. It's a little detailed because someone else asked me for the timeline of my SGIP process. I think a lot has to do with where you live and when you sign contract. I signed up August 30, 2017. In November I told Tesla I was willing to install without waiting for SGIP rebate. I was given a number of dates in December for install. I have been up and running since Dec 23rd. They will hold...

I agree. I took my app and went to every room when everyone was asleep. So many devices drawing power. Someone PM'd me. They called Infinity Solar immediately and received the same quote for two powerwalls that Tesla gave.
