Is there any reason why Tesla would choose to support lower cost models over their premium models with new features? Especially when the hardware is the same?
I have a May 2017 Model S (MCU 1, HW2.0). I called Tesla regarding the $3,000 upgrade to FSD that expires today. I spoke with two people today. The first one (a sales advisor) was adamant that I would get MCU 2 with my upgrade because FSD requires additional visualization that only MCU 2...
I purchased a brand new S75 RWD, pre-uncork in May 2017. I researched battery degradation before buying and after my researched expected to see 5-7% degradation by 50,000 miles in a worse case scenario. I knew some folks saw 0% degradation, and it was worse for others.
I'm currently close...
The problem with Tesla is they update their cars on random cycles with no prior notice. So the car you bought one day becomes last gen the very next day even though you paid full price. This happened to me.
Every other auto maker offers transparency on upgrades because cards depreciate...
Are you sure that they are all 21's? There is now a gray 19" wheel that can easily be confused with the turbines. To me, that's the biggest difference as all the 21's look pretty darn aggressive.
My S75RWD has been losing rated distance at a rate faster than expected, and it only started happening fairly recently. I'm down about 5-7% after 15,000 miles, which I know isn't totally out of the ordinary. But the odd thing, is that sometimes 90% will charge to 210 miles, other times it will...
So for those of you that got the Chill mode update, how does it work on an already "slow" car? It's a little TIC, but also kind of true so curious to know if "Chill" is even an option.
My April 2017 build S75 RWD has been getting updates regularly until .42 with Chill mode was released. Hopefully they are working on a software uncork for us...but was curious if any other slow S or X 75s got this update.
I'm not sure I believe this. The battery is rated for 350V and 1150A. This comes to 402.5kW. The original P85 RWD needed 350kW of power to get to a 0-60 of 4.2s. This provides 13% buffer to the battery. This is all per the Wiki page.
There is also a rumor that the motor/inverter from the...
Then why does Tesla rate the mileage as if we do? My car should not be rated at 249miles of range if we can’t access all of it. That’s a false claim then.
Good chart. If we can’t access a portion then they shouldn’t show it as part of the range, right? If ~5% is held for brick protection than shouldn’t it be rated for 238 miles max? On a trip charge I get 247 miles shown so my battery degradation is theoretically low too.
This makes some sense but 14% for cabin cooling is a lot considering the car was almost exclusively parked in the shade. Given that the AC draws about 10A at 240V when plugged in (at max power) that’s about 2.4kW for every hour it’s run. I know the cabin didn’t precool for 4.4hrs since it never...
Pre conditioning is off.
A/C is factored into my Wh/mi (which is why it’s so high).
This was over about 60hrs so that would be faster vampire drain than what I’ve read from others.
If I can’t access my full battery, the car shouldn’t be rated for 249 miles.
75kWh/(300 Wh/mi) = 250...
I decided to run down my battery to <20% on my April build S75. I can't figure out why, but I'm missing 14% of my battery capacity and was wondering if anyone here had any insight. Here are my numbers:
Capacity: 75kWh (verified by sticker under car)
Charged to 90%: 10% capacity
Usage Since...
The one comment I'll make on Dolby is that it seems to compress the dynamics. For most modern recordings, it's not a big deal since most studio engineers use dynamic range compression. For some high quality recordings, I found you lose some of the dynamics and can miss some of the timber and...
I had the same issues. I found the sound improved dramatically when I disabled Dolby Surround and set the equalizer to 0 except low base at 1.5. Now my uncompressed music sounds significantly better and at times it feels like I'm in a studio of the recording is really high quality.
I upgraded my wheels prior to delivery to the 21" Grey Turbines. I have my unused 19" Slipstream wheels and have been looking to sell. I never drove on them and the only miles they have are from Tesla factory testing and transportation to the Tesla deliver center (so less than 10 miles total)...
