Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I've had this happen to me twice in the last week now. Additionally, my external thermometer readout resets and then my HVAC and radio reset as well before returning to normal. Definitely a bit worrisome and would love to hear what others have found our WRT this issue.
Dallas SC ran a full diagnostic Saturday and found that the battery heater has failed. They are checking to see if this is what is causing the sleep issues.
Awesome work Rick. I mentioned to my wife I thought it was great everyone was mentioning you as the SME (by first name no less). While we are up here in the OKC metro, this SC location will be particularly convenient for us as we have a large contingent of family in NE Tarrant County (my wife...
Quick update:
Trying a couple different things, I was able to get the BMS to shut off via the following process:
1. Unplug the car from the garage outlet
2. Close charge port
3. Open driver's door
4. Close driver's door
5. Lock car via key fob
No idea if this was pure coincidence but the hum...
Yeah, a couple of reboots were done.
Initially, I also thought it might be a battery cooling necessity, but I'm having the same issue this morning some 10 or so hours after charging was complete. I will mention that I can currently hear the audible hum of what I assume is the BMS running, and...
Hey everyone. We are now about 6 weeks in with our 2013 P85 and are experiencing some rather aggravating vampire drain while idling, on the order of 1mi/hr.
I went ahead and signed up for TeslaFi to do a bit more research and found the car is having trouble going to sleep consistently when it...
Wow, that was painful to watch, for both the commission's responses/Q&A (specifically Mr. Panahy), and those from the applicant. Rick you did an awesome job of straightening things out and hopefully as a Southlake resident, you can continue to educate the commission.
We actually stopped by...
Our thoughts and prayers are with all our Texas neighbors. Living up in OKC and having worked in the energy industry for a few years, I have a lot of friends down in the area who have been impacted in one way or another.
Sorry for the delay in posting this...
Delivery update:
We took delivery of our 2013 P85 at the Dallas SC on Friday. Total time from order to delivery ended up being exactly 6 weeks (originally quoted 6-8 weeks).
Positives (major):
1)The service we received from Tesla from start to finish was...
From what I understand they've actually had ours for a couple weeks but it had to spend the last week at a Dallas body shop getting some work done. Turns out it was indeed a service loaner prior to this (so listed on the purchase agreement) so we're crossing our fingers it wasn't treated too poorly.
Just heard from our DS. Delivery date of 07/28 looking more and more likely.
However, I had to do a double-take when the DS mentioned the payment for the car has to be mailed/wired in advance (due to being in Texas). Am I crazy to think that is a wildly unorthodox request? Seems I would lose...
Spoke to our DS (Carlos) yesterday who confirmed with the Dallas SC we should be good to go for delivery late the week of the 24th. We are hoping that pans out as we have to be in Dallas the 28-30th for a wedding and picking up the 28th would work out perfectly.
If delivery ends up being the...
While we are talking payment -- did anyone here pay via credit union/bank plus cash down (in my case $42,000 from credit union and $4,500 cash out of pocket)?
7/5/17 4:28pm - Emailed advisor asking if car made it from the Indy SC to the Dallas SC
7/6/17 12:46am - Advisor states car arrived at Dallas SC on 7/1 (at the 2 week + 1 day mark from ordering). Is currently undergoing full inspection and entering reconditioning. More tangible updates coming...
6/29/17 - 10:05am: Automated "finalizing your paperwork" email from Tesla. States "Vehicle Status: In Transit"
Side note, had my outlet installed today. $225 to install it just below the panel.
We aren't sold on the silver turbines on our CPO pearl P85 (pic of car attached) and are strongly considering getting them powdercoated locally. We are having a hard time deciding between gloss grey, matte grey, gloss black, and matte black. Either way, we will definitely be getting the calipers...
6/23/17 - 12:45pm: Wrote back to CPO advisor Derek and asked if the Indy SC could snap a few pics
6/23/17 - 1:01pm: Derek says he can make that happen
6/23/17 - 2:28pm: Derek emails several photos the guys at the Indy SC went out and took in the rain for us (awesome service and car looks pretty...
6/23/17 - 12:25pm: First weekly update from CPO advisor. Car is at Indianapolis SC having new parts installed (sun visors, "other cosmetic accents"). Car will be transported to Dallas SC next week for inspection/reconditioning.
TSLA_maybe -- I feel like you should go back to your original post and include the entire timeline to give the full view of the process. Sorry to hear about all the issues.
Pretty simple for us -- CPO worked for our budget, new did not (especially since no state incentives in OK).
We get a $114,000 car for $47,500 with low miles that will likely be refurb'd/restored to nearly new condition. Easy decision that will translate into another CPO purchase 3-4 years down...
Something tells me NADA might not be the best pricing outlet considering their disdain for anything and everything Tesla. I wouldn't be surprised if they were purposely deflating values to deter potential used Model S/X buyers.
I assume that must be a rate only available for new purchases (and not CPOs)? My advisor mentioned Tesla financing was running between 2.5 and 4% right now (even with my credit score in the 820 range).
Yeah, I can't say enough about how exemplary Derek's service has been -- when the midwest advisors were overloaded with last week's market flood of CPOs, Derek subbed in and offered to work with me even though I'm out of his region.
Congrats on the purchase -- I'm sure Monday will be like...
6/16 ~ 3:00pm CDT - Placed deposit on 2013 P85 in Fort Worth (34k miles, pearl white, tech pkg, UHF sound, pano roof, air susp); was told 6-8 weeks for delivery at the Dallas SC (we live in OKC).
Will post updates as they come but the experience working with Pre-owned advisor Derek in...
