Does anybody regret buying Model X for your main car?

Regret is a strong word. I like the car. It’s fun to drive, and I’m a technology fan who doesn’t mind the Supercharger stops on long road trips because it gives me time to relax a bit. It’s also really easy and mindless at home when you plug in. I enjoy Autopilot and how easy it makes long...

    2018.4.1 ec044c8 was detected on a Tesla Model X + What's your FW now

I just had this installed at the SC. Autopilot had it hugging the very right edge of the lane....not great. Has anyone else noticed that?

    Supercharger - Cedar Park, Texas

Wow, I hadn't heard of that. Yes, that would make a lot of sense.

    Supercharger - Cedar Park, Texas

They are building tons of condos/apartments in the Cedar Park and Leander area though. I can think of a couple on Reagan/Parmer and several along 183 that are currently under construction. It could also be on the route out towards the hill country, so maybe I'm off base thinking it will be the...

    Supercharger - Cedar Park, Texas

I agree. We're close by and also have a NEMA 14-50, so probably one of the only times we'd really use it is if we had a very short turnaround for some reason. That said, I'd at least have to try it out when it opens. For science, of course.

    Supercharger - Cedar Park, Texas

Well, I'm right near these at least 3 times per week, so I'm hoping it's somewhere in that area and looking forward to trying it!

    Supercharger - Cedar Park, Texas

I wonder if it will be one of the new "urban" Superchargers that were referenced in today's Tesla blog post. If so, I could see it going in the new shopping center at 183A and Whitestone that includes Whole Foods 365 and Nordstrom Rack, or potentially down closer to Costco. Lots to do there and...

    Supercharger - Rochester, MN

Fantastic! I'd love to see your pictures if you're willing. I plan to ask my father in law to keep an eye on it (it's his closest Hy-Vee) so I'll post any news I hear as well.

    Destination chargers for Port Aransas

We love taking weekends in Port A, but there seems to be a big dearth of charging options there. Is anyone interested in joining forces to call hotels and businesses on the island and try to convince them to get Tesla destination chargers? I'm specifically thinking of the Hampton Inn since we...

Getting hotels/businesses to consider Destination Chargers

Thanks! This is helpful. Seems worth it to reach out and mention all the benefits of the program.

Getting hotels/businesses to consider Destination Chargers

I have a few hotels that I'd like to contact and ask to consider putting in destination chargers. However, I'm not quite sure how to do that without it being completely random or the hotel staff just ignoring it. It looks like Tesla's website actually looks for a contact name, so I don't know...

    Supercharger - Rochester, MN

Supercharge.info now has a permit listed in Rochester at the Hy-Vee at 500 Crossroads Drive SW. Does anyone have any other info? We're visiting family there at Thanksgiving and I'd love to have this done as they live in a condo without convenient charging.

    Supercharger - Strasburg, VA

Just have to share the picture I got of the Strasburg supercharger the other day. It's the prettiest one we've seen on our Austin to DC road trip!

    Windshield rock chip repair

If you can have it patched at Safelite, do it. Our chip quickly spiraled into a huge crack, and it cost almost $1500 to replace it at Tesla plus a 2 week wait for a windshield to come in (though we paid only our $500 deductible).

    People say the darndest things...

Ridiculous. Obviously the center won't be in Arizona, it will be in Nevada by Area 51. I can only assume that's where Elon is building all his Boring tunnels to.

The Texas Delivery & Registration Process

I honestly wasn't thrilled with the Texas plates process at the Austin SC. When we showed up for delivery on 3/18 the DS (who wasn't the one we had worked with) seemed confused when I said that they were doing the Texas registration. He finally just put the sticker on the back (no temp plate)...

    The Superchargers are Wide Open

I'd love to find out more about where you got that cable, it would have made our time less stressful as I kept worrying that we wouldn't get enough charge from the 120V outlet to make it back to Three Rivers! (we did)

    Windshield crack

I can feel one tiny spot of the chip almost like running your finger over a smooth surface with a grain of sand on it, but not most of it. There are two cracks coming out of it, one long (6 inches or so) and one pretty short.

    Windshield crack

On our very first family roadtrip in our MX75D, a rock was kicked up on the highway and a couple of days later, we saw a crack toward the bottom on the passenger side. I've seen some old threads about windshield replacement but nothing recent: does this have to be done by Tesla, or can a vendor...

    Supercharger - Wytheville, VA

That's great to hear! We have the MX75D, so I suspect we might be able to make it if we drive on the slow, careful side. But I would be glad not to have the stress.

    Supercharger - Wytheville, VA

I checked in with the Tesla Supercharger people the other day, as we'll be going on a road trip on I-81 this summer and I'm very concerned about the Knoxville to Wytheville stretch. They said they are about to start construction in Bristol, and when I checked the Bristol government website...

    The Superchargers are Wide Open

We were also in Port A with our new red Model X this weekend. We kept her off the beach and charging at the beach house for most of the time. We came from Austin so went through San Marcos and Three Rivers, had no issues with crowds at either one of them. Where did you charge while you were in...
